  • “An excellent cottage in a stunning area.”

The new addition of the entrance from kitchen to pool is a real bonus, as was the coffee maker. Some nice touches like welcome basket, toothbrushes and toiletries. Very well equipped kitchen though some of the items and kitchen could do with replacing/updating. Comfortable beds except in the downstairs double which is slatted so sinks in the middle when used by two people, could do with extra support. Games room was very well used and enjoyed by all, shame about damp smell. This is our ...

This is our second visit to orchard cottage and we really enjoyed our stay, apart from the above few niggles would definitely recommend, there is everything you need here for a great family holiday with all age groups. The view over farm land is so relaxing, I can think of nowhere better to enjoy a morning coffe and if you are lucky the peacocks may visit. Farm shop on campsite good selection for breakfast, bacon amazing.

About the location

HARTLAND

Meddon 5.5 miles.

The village of Hartland, whose parish includes the hamlet of Stoke to the west and the village of Meddon in the south, is the most northwesterly settlement in the county of Devon, England. The town of Hartland is remote and hosts many craft shops and potteries in addition to cafés and restaurants. There is a long main street, with cottages either side, leading to the town square and the church of St John. Enjoy views of the coastline in the British Isles from Hartland Point. There are many vantage points, accessible by car or on foot, from which you can admire views of the coast. Not far away is Hartland Quay, with much to see and available accommodation. A local Shipwreck Museum is certainly worth a visit.

Note: Some low lintels.
