    • “What a wonderful stay in an idyllic setting. The owners live on site and Piers and Liss welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. They told us where to explore locally and the local pub in Parracombe lived up to expectations. Also the Hunters Inn which is near the sea and within easy walking distance. We were able to go on different walks daily and explore the wonders and wilderness of Exmoor National Park. To be repeated...”

    • “This is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. We visited for Christmas. On arrival the table was laid with Christmas place mats, crackers, prosecco and a tin of biscuits! Upstairs was a small Christmas tree with lights! Such a thoughtful gesture! Piers is a wonderful host. Thank you”

    Ms Waters, London, December 2018

    • “Heale Farm Cottage is a wonderfully relaxing traditional barn conversion. Nestled in a lovely valley in the rolling Devon hills. There are great walks nearby and in Heale farmland and moors itself. we were met with a warm welcome and settled in immediately! The recommendations on local pubs, restaurants and walks was most useful. The food at the Fox & Goose, the nearest pub was exceptional!”

    Mr Smith, Singapore, August 2018

    • “Had a fantastic week at Heale Cottage, attention to detail and a warm welcome from the owner.”

    Mrs Frost, Weymouth, May 2018

    • “just loved it....the owner was kind and helpful and just lovely...the cottages were as advertised and just so pretty..beautiful part of the world .... one of the best things was that we were allowed our dogs with us which made all the difference to this family as they are family! everyone organising the holiday couldn't have been more helpful ... it was like home from home...couldn't say a bad thing about it from picking up the phone to book the holiday to arriving home last night... thank you all, annie mawdsley and all the family 5 bipeds and 3 quadrupeds”

    Mrs Mawdsley, Jersey, April 2018

    • “Absolutely loved this place. Very quiet location so great if you are looking for a tranquil environment. Plenty to do around the area, lovely walks - Heddon Mouth superb, surf beaches in Croyde, Woolacombe etc, very muddy but exciting quad biking at Key Pitts and of course Exmoor itself. The barn was very comfortable and well equipped. Felt like home not a rental. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The children loved the pool table and table tennis table available in another barn, along with washing machine and dryer - which was really appreciated. The fresh spring water was delicious! We plan to revisit!”

    Mrs Mcfarlane, MARLBOROUGH, April 2018

The Property

2 miles from Parracombe, and a 2½ mile walk from the little pebble beach at dramatic Heddon's Mouth, deep in a lush tranquil wooded valley, three cottages which started life as grain and animal barns. They nestle, with the farmhouse, in the shelter of mature trees and ancient hedgerows - full of wild flowers, birds and butterflies at the right time of year - and have lovely views to Trentishoe Down. There are 40 acres of pasture, streams, wild wood and moorland which you are welcome to explore. This is terrific walking country, far away from the hustle of modern urban life, and an ideal spot to enjoy its calm. Timeless green lane and woodland footpath (walking boots needed) to Hunters Inn, about 1½ miles. Shared use of laundry room (washing machine, tumble drier) and games barn (table tennis, pool table).
