“Loverly little cottage short walk to bus rout and beach .”
only complaint is the garden furniture very uncomfortable we where lucky to have good weather the week we stayed and could have done with something better to sit on- Mr Hands, May 2019
“We had a lovely break ideally situated for Dawlish and Teighmouth, the walk along the coastal path to Teighmouth was a pleasure to be followed with a very nice breakfast at Weatherspoons.”
On the way to Holcolme ready for a nice coffee at the Salty Dog cafe at the end of the walk. Look forward to our next holiday thank you to everyone involved- Mr Staniforth, April 2019
“From the moment we walked into the cottage we felt overwhelmed with the generosity of the owner for eg: croissants, milk, butter, coffee, tea, sugar, washing up liquid, heater turned on in bathroom, shampoo and conditioner.”
Luxurious bathrobes in bedroom. In fact you couldn't have done better if u had bkd into a 5* hotel. Well done Ben and Tammy.- Mrs Knight, September 2018
“Wonderful cottage in a fantastic setting.”
We would thoroughly recommend!- Mr Williams, September 2018
“I cannot praise Sea Glass cottage enough.”
It far exceeded our expectations. It had a mixture of the old fashioned (well it was a thatched cottage after all!) with the totally modern. The small, but beautifully equipped kitchen had everything you needed. The lounge was cosy, and the bedroom beautifully kitted out. We honestly could not have been happier there. If you're into walking it's perfectly situated to walk down Smugglers Lane and along the sea wall into Teignmouth town centre. And if that's a little too much but you don't have your own transport there are very convenient buses going into Teignmouth or Dawlish...and beyond just at the end of the lane. Superb find...would highly recommend!- Mrs Markham, August 2018
“We had brilliant holiday at lovely Seaglass cottage, it was clean and comfortable, lovely pictures and furnishings, the owners even left us a fresh baguette, butter, other items for our arrival.”
Beautiful area and friendly locals, especially in local pub. Thank you so much ,We definitely hope to go again next year.- Mrs Sumner, July 2018
“A lovely, clean and comfortable cottage.”
There is no washing machine/dryer but it has everything else you will need. Imaginative use has been made of the relatively small space and the living room could be described as cosy while the bedroom upstairs is sufficiently spacious and very comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean and the little garden collects plenty of sun. There is a very friendly pub that serves good food just a short walk up a (very steep!) hill and the area is well located for exploring the South Devon coast. We had a lovely time here :)- Ms Brewer, June 2018
“We are not small people so would have appreciated a shelf in the shower and it would also have been good to have a blind/curtain at the small bedroom window and possibly at the stair window to avoid light falling directly onto the bed at sunrise.”- Mr Lyons, June 2018
“We absolutely loved staying at Sea Glass Cottage.”
The only problem was that there wasn't a wardrobe available. There was hanging space on one of the walls but didn't look very secure so didn't use it. Apart from that problem we enjoyed our stay very much. It was very clean and nicely laid out. There were some food essentials left for us which was really helpful and a nice touch. The garden was ideal and quite private and often sat there in the evenings. We chose this cottage as we wanted a peaceful holiday, and it was bliss! Such a lovely village and so quiet. We hope to use Sea Glass again.- Mr Rudd, June 2018
“Loved the cottage and village.”
Parking was a minor problem but won't stop us returning. It'd be nice if there were some comfortable seats available in the small garden as we loved sitting outside reading in the quiet. The bedside lights flickered but otherwise all was good. It was lovely to have a few provisions on arrival and the dressing gowns were a nice touch. The two local pubs were good and the food at the Castle Inn excellent except it didn't serve in the evening until after 7pm. The Smugglers Arms also had good food, although some food wasn't available until after 6pm.- Mr Meredith, June 2018
“Great TV and freeview box - although should be aware that the ariel connection cable is very loose in socket - slightest knock would pull the cable out, and lose all signal- simple job to replace socket but could cause future problems if hoovering around the TV Unit during cleaning times.”
.- Miss Jullien, May 2018
“The cottage was brilliant - cosy and comfortable.”
Great location for local walks.- Mr Wincott, May 2018
“Initially not booked as a holiday but as an escape from our home that was being invaded by contractors who were fitting a new kitchen and staircase.”
Sea glass cottage was small but very comfortable. The owners had put a lot of thought into refurbishing it. Everything we needed was there. Positioned between Dawlish and Teignmouth, Holcombe is well situated. It enabled us to discover that part of Devon that was new to us. Coupled with perfect weather we couldn’t have asked for better. Many thanks to the owners of Sae Glass and Sykes. Regards, Michael and Christine Jones.- Mr Jones, April 2018
The small hillside coastal village of Holcombe, comprising mainly thatched cottages and overlooking the sea is midway between the seaside towns and sandy beaches of Dawlish and Teignmouth.
In Holcombe is Sea Glass Cottage, a cute Grade II listed, thatched cottage, tucked neatly at the end-of-row with a small enclosed suntrap gravelled garden to the side.
The newly transformed interior with pretty fabrics and local artwork gives this small but perfectly-formed cottage a smart, stylish and welcoming feel.
The living room is bright and cosy with a terracotta tiled floor, flame-effect electric stove and dining area.
There is also a double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping).
The neat kitchen is well equipped with everything you'll need for your holiday.
From the lounge, stairs lead to a double king size bedroom with beams, pretty furnishings and an electric flame-effect fire.
Handy for both coast and countryside, you can visit some of Devon's best beaches and leading attractions such as Living Coasts, Powderham Castle or head inland to rugged Dartmoor National Park, all within a short drive.
A little gem, Sea Glass Cottage is a romantic escape for two.

About the location
Dawlish Warren 3 miles; Dawlish 1.5 miles, Teignmouth 1.9 miles.
Holcombe is situated between the seaside resorts of Dawlish and Teignmouth, and is in a designated conservation area with a picturesque village centre lined with pretty thatched cottages, a village shop and traditional pub. Holcombe's history has been associated with smugglers and has been impacted by the growth of the railways - the Bristol to Plymouth main line goes along the coast at Holcombe and is one of the most scenic stretches of the rail network in the country. The beach at Dawlish Warren is a sandy Blue Flag beach backed by sand dunes and small lakes and stretches for miles to reach the Exe Estuary in one direction, and Dawlish town in the other. A safe beach, lifeguarded in summer, provides a perfect place for seaside fun, and has many free, open-air events, children's entertainers and spectacular firework and air displays during the summer season. Nearby there is much to occupy the visitor along the English Riviera coastline, including Paignton Zoo, the Dartmouth Steam Railway, the picturesque fishing harbour of Brixham and the long pier and promenade at Teignmouth. A typically English seaside resort, great for family holidays at any time of year.
