Mr Peirson “Boycombe barn is an idyllic getaway, set within the most beautiful estate, and owners Paul & Di could not have done more to ensure our stay was perfect in every way.”
The cottage was so immaculately clean and well equipped, that we wanted for nothing. A perfect place to recharge and get back to nature. Thank you.

Mr Appleby “From the moment we arrived at Boycombe Barn everything was perfect.”
The beautiful barn and the wonderful surroundings exceeded our expectations. It was lovely to arrive in such an immaculate clean property, beautifully furnished to a very high standard. We were very impressed with the Covid regulations and felt very safe and content throughout our stay. My husband and I were so happy at Boycombe and the owners and staff should be very proud of themselves. We cannot wait to return there, we absolutely loved it.
- Mr Appleby, September 2020Mrs Crouchman “Considering the times we are in with Covid at present we think everything was very good and very well organised.”
- Mrs Crouchman, September 2020Mrs Carruel “We had a realy relaxing time, so peaceful , the cottage is lovely just what we neaded, Boycombe Barn is quite a amazing house, with lovely walks around the grounds.”
The owners and helpers are welcoming and helpful but leave you to enjoy your stay. We are in our 80 's so found the roads a bit of a challenge but what you would expect so out of the way, and we did get lost a few times, but very happy days , plus very good pubs close by and supermarket . Just one great holiday.

Thank you
- Mrs Kossowicz, July 2020Ange717 “Photos don't do it justice- lovely stay”
A very comfy, away from it all cottage with quality fabrics and furnishing, huge comfy bed and choice of pillows. Wonderful views on all sides with sheep, alpacas and a horse. Horsey theme throughout and well equipped. Log fire ( plenty of logs in the lean to next door) makes it cosy but can't be turned down ! Very compact kitchen only 66cm ? wide but had all you needed and workable. Beautiful stained glass window between kitchen and hall. Photos do not do it justice and can not show the feeling of tranquility and peace around the area. Very, very quiet except for owls and sheep. The owners are delightful and on hand should you need them. Was not used to the smart meter stressing us out about reaching budgets (puzzling when you had been out all day) however electricity is included so not a problem. In conclusion a perfect cottage in a convenient location for Exetor (park and ride easy), the coastal villages and many walks. Be prepared for many uneven single track roads which are challenging in wet weather. We were there in February during the storms but felt safe and warm.
- Ange717, February 2020traceywilliams64 “Brilliant”
Beautiful place to stay everything was perfect, the cottage was first class nice comfy and cosy. The owners were their to greet us and because they had finished getting the cottage ready early we were allowed in early which was a bonus. It was lovely to be able to go and just watch the horses and stroke them once they were brought in for the night and also watch the chickens just roam around they also have a turkey ( No he is not for xmas I already asked that question and neither are the chickens ) it's just so-funny watching this turkey wonder around he is tiny and I honestly thought he was already for the oven due to lack of feathers. Lots of places to visit each day sidmouth seaton exmouth otter st Mary are all well worth a visit. Just make sure you follow the owners directions to the cottage it's far easier to reach than the standard directions.

Boycombe barn offers a wonderful 'get away from it all' location. A cosy welcoming detached barn conversion with vaulted ceilings and woodburner and views of the Grade II listed manor house opposite and across fields to streams. Our hosts looked after us very well, providing eggs laid by their hens (who also came to visit us!) and plenty of wood for the fire. We enjoyed meeting the alpacas and watching the horses in the yard. Although located in a secluded valley Boycombe barn is also only a short drive from the wonderful East Devon coast and other places of interests. It is close to the East Devon Way and there are many wonderful walks you can enjoy on your doorstep.
- Curiosity671737, September 2016The property
Hidden in rolling Devon countryside a mile from Farway, at the end of 500 yards of hardcore track and across the courtyard from the owners beautiful farmhouse, a sweet cottage converted from a barn.
Views from the cottage over the estate (shoots on Saturdays from October to March) to woods beyond, where you're welcome to wander (shared with the owners horses, alpacas, sheep and free-range chickens; areas occasionally restricted for schooling horses).
To the front, small lawned garden (picnic table).
Inside, all one level and light and spacious with beams to apex, stripped floors and good furniture.
Good-sized living/dining room with woodburner and TV/DVD/Blu-ray; compact but efficient kitchen (slimline dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge, electric cooker).
Double bedroom (king size bed, limited clothes-hanging space).
Bathroom (suite, shower over bath).
