    • “This property is no longer available through Helpful Holidays/Sykes!! We enjoyed our holiday but there were issues with all three showers, we were told about one of them on arrival and it was suggested maybe shouldn't use it. The seating in the large lounge consisted of two small sofas and two chairs. Some of the cooking pans and had to be scrubbed before they could be used were dirty. Overall a nice property but, overpriced and needed updating. We wanted to enjoy our holiday and did not want to start it off with complaints.”

The Property

At the top of Kingston village, a detached, modern country house, sheltered and private. To the back and side, a large, enclosed, tree-filled garden (patio, barbecue, swing). Inside, it is light, smart and fresh. Hall. Four steps down to height-of-house living room (woodburner) with plenty of natural light, TV/DVD, glazed doors to garden. Kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with tiled floor, farmhouse table/chairs, glazed doors to garden. Three bedrooms on the ground floor - a double (6' zip-linked bed) with en suite shower and washbasin, and two single; bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Open tread stairs up to a pretty double bedroom under the eaves (sloping ceiling, low in places) and gallery landing with VDU/DVD; shower-room (suite, 5'8" ceiling over shower). Arrival after 4pm. Sleeps maximum of 6, including babies. A great family house within a few hundred yards of the pub.






Kingston: remarkably off-the-beaten-track little village (good pub, church) with lots of pretty houses, a mile from the River Erme’s beautiful wooded estuary and good sandy Wonwell beach (bodyboarding, paddle boarding, kayaking). St Ann’s Chapel (PO/shop), 1 mile. More fine sandy beaches and golf at Bigbury-on-Sea/Burgh Island, 4 miles; for shops, pretty Modbury, 3½ miles.
