“Upon arrival the cottage was beautifully presented.”

Lovely touches with wine and roses. Kitchen - although spacious for the size of the property- needs more utensils - such as a wooden spoon, colander, larger saucepans, egg cups.... (huge cupboard with nothing in it- just seems a little more planning is needed)Setee was the most uncomfortable I have ever used - although its practical - after a day of walking we needed something to sink into - we spent more time sat on the floor as carpet was softer. Garden wasn't dog friendly - as in enclosed - so disappointed - we left early - Im sure the cottage will suit a lot of people but we are used to a more comfy setting Im afraid. (you could also supply a hairdryer too - we often stay in cottages and this is always included - taking the burden off packing it - just a suggestion. I also would have a liked a folder with walk suggestions, or the menu for the pub at the end of the lane(as you are a dog friendly place - the pub is also - sharing / promoting this would have been thoughtful, numbers for local amenities - brochures - just to tell us what's on and where - this would have been brilliant. Recycling - a guide on what goes where etc ...so a beautifully presented cottage - with minor adjustments - it could have been a wonderful stay-

“All in all the cottage is adequate, clean, and contains the basic comforts one requires while away from home.”

We could not rate accurately due to our beautiful dog taking ill on third day and having to cut our stay short. It’s a shame the Hunter’s Inn nearby still has scaffolding erected, and there appeared to be piling occurring opposite the National Trust station with extensive groundwork’s equipment stored in the field. We probably would have chosen an alternative location if we had known this. As far as re-booking in the future, yes we most likely would but next time will call ahead to determine construction activities.

I'm sorry to hear that you had to cut your stay short. I believe the scaffolding at Hunters Inn relates repair work due to the storms that the UK suffered recently, hopefully a random event. The groundwork in the field opposite Hunters Inn relates to the installation of a ground pump for a new heating system. Hunters Inn has been open as usual and as it's further along the lane there is no effect on Tucking Cottage, Tucking Mill or Tucking River Lodge. It was fully equipped and Tony had left flowers and wine that was a lovely touch. Very comfortable and warm to come back to after walking all day. Shower amazing. Area very peaceful and quiet and Hunters inn pub very good.

Lovely listening to the river across the lane. Cottage clean, comfortable and cosy. Loved the fire pit. Short stroll to the Hunters Inn. Make sure you take basic groceries with you. A bread knife would be useful. Also higher back armchairs would be extra comfortable to sit by the fire (to rest your head in case you nod off!).

“Tucking cottage is in a lovely valley, access is via single track road and very steep at times.”

The 35 minute walk to Heddons Mouth is definitely worth it, an amazing beach where dogs are allowed. The cottage is quite spacious overall and decorated to a very good standard. Limited hanging space in the bedroom, would benefit from hooks on bedroom and bathroom doors. Very comfy bed and the shower is great. As stated there is no TV, however, Netflix, ITV Hub/iPlayer all work well on a laptop. Safe private area to park your car and nice outside seating area. Very nice friendly host. Tucking cottage has everything you need for a perfect stay to explore the surrounding area.
