“As we have been to Stables twice before, we knew what to expect and therefore it met our expectations.”
It is a lovely comfortable cottage with great views and the gardens are amazing. Being just outside Ottery St Mary, it is easy to pop to the shops - indeed you could walk it if you wanted to! There is plenty of beautiful countryside on the doorstep, river walks, coastal walks and hill walks.

“This is our second stay at Stables, Cadhay, so we knew what to expect this time.”
Stables is a lovely, bright, comfortable cottage with great views of the manor house, gardens and walled garden where there are allotments. Everyone is so friendly and considerate, and a great bonus if you are staying for more than a week is a free tour of the magnificent Tudor house and beautiful garden. Tea and cakes can be purchased in the old apple store and either consumed inside or outside on the terrace. “The Stables and the Cadhay estate are a little slice of heaven!”
It was much better than we expected it to be. The owner and caretaker were extremely helpful and made us feel welcome and we were treated to a tour of the main house and stunning garden on Open afternoon where we met more of the staff and helpers. The cottage was very spacious and well-equipped and we felt very comfortable. Everyone was so friendly. The estate is quite close to Ottery St Mary, a lovely old town with all that we could possibly need and it was not far from some lovely places and the beautiful coast. We shall certainly go back!- Mrs Fearon, June 2018
