    • “The apartment was beautiful and very comfortable.”

Mr Routledge, Newcastle Upon Tyne, December 2018

    • “The steps down to the apartment were fine for us, but for someone who is elderly there was no hand rail. the hot water tap was not working properly. We were pleased with the space and safe access path to the cove, we enjoyed the holiday. Thank you.”

    Mrs Plumley, Ringwood, September 2018

    • “The cottage was as described. In a lovely location & had everything we needed. Hope Cove is beautiful & the local pubs etc are very nice. There were one or two small issues that need attention. Lock on Bathroom Door. A blocked drain We will be back”

    Mrs Rotherham, Rotherham, September 2018

    • “Just back from a great holiday in Hope Cove. Hope view, our holiday home was great providing us with everything we needed. Would definitely use Sykes cottages again and would recommend Hope View to friends and family.”

    Mrs Dando, Clevedon, June 2018

    • “Accomodation as described and very clean on arrival. Lovely flowers welcomed us along with a few other essentials such as bread & wine. High chair & cot provided as requested. Microwave was found not to be working but the owner ensured it was replaced with a new one during the week. Local area beautiful, particularly walking along the coastal path. Would holiday here again in the future.”

    Mrs Flanders, Lightwater, June 2018

    • “On arrival at 4.15pm found apartment not made up. No cell phone service at this location but a neighbour allowed us to use her landline to call service company. (We later discovered a phone in the corner of the lounge) In time a cleaner arrived who did a good job but we didn't have use of the apartment until 7pm. Having to wait around for nearly 3 hours after a long drive is not acceptable. It should be made clear that there is no cell phone reception at this location but there is a landline in the apartment.”

    Mr Turnbull, Stockport, May 2018

    • “The apartment is ideally situated on the outskirts of the village but only a short walk to the pubs and the one shop. Views across the valley are excellent and seating in the upstairs bay window allows you to watch wildlife and enjoy the views. Only criticisms would be that the apartment could do with a coat of paint and some form of heating in the kitchen/dining area is definitely needed...and it is rather sparsely furnished/equipped. Otherwise this is a good holiday choice and is recommended. I'd happily visit again.”

    Mr Millward, Stockport, April 2018

    • “30 March, 2018 - 06 April, 2018 6,West Park Hope Cove View Firstly I would like to thank Sykes Cottages for the wonderful service and consideration to accomadate my wife and I after cancelling this holiday from September 2017.The accommadation was really Ist class,it was spacious, clean and very comfortable and the welcome pack was most welcome..The lounge was very comfortable with plenty of seats and we had a view over surrounding fields and we could see Hope Cove from the side window ,the heating was great as it was very cold over Easter. The kitchen was very well equiped with everything you could possibly need,a good sized dinning table, plenty of cupboard space,The 2 bedrooms were more than adequate,we chose the twin bedroom as the beds were a little softer, but just like the rest of the property was very comfortable. The bathroom has a nice heated towel rail which kept the fluffy towels warm when we needed them, the walk-in shower was just fine. The allocated parking space was most welcome as parking is sparse in Hope Cove, even though there is a decent sized car park, but is likely to fill up quickly during the summer time!It is about a 10 minuets walk to the Hope and Anchor Pub which enjoys excellent vies over the Cove, the walk back is all uphill and took us 5 mins longer coming back, depending how much you had to drink and how old you are" I would rate this property very highly as much as 10/10”

Mr Stimpson, Bognor Regis, March 2018

    • “The building had scaffolding all around and a builder doing some repairs. Whilst it certainly didn't ruin our holiday it would have been nice to have been told beforehand.”

    Mrs Lea, Bristol, October 2017

    • “The bread, butter, jam, milk and wine were a lovely surprise thank you. The double bed was a bit too firm.”

    Mrs Russell, Cullompton, July 2017

Regional Information

HOPE COVE Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.
