The property

Settled in the northernmost point of the Dartmoor National Park, in the centre of the town of Chagford, is this 400 year old Grade II listed thatched cottage, Weaver's Cottage.

Just a moment’s stroll from the town’s amenities, Weaver’s Cottage provides an excellent base for up to four guests and their dog.

Enter the cottage into the sitting room, which features exposed beams and seating positioned in front of the character inglenook fireplace, housing an attractive woodburning stove.

Head into to the kitchen, which is nicely equipped to meet your culinary needs and has a convenient washer/dryer.

Find the dining room, which features a wooden dining table, a grandfather clock, and more exposed beams, ideal for mealtimes.

The two double bedrooms are located upstairs.

Each bedroom has a set of drawers for your personal belongings, and a shower room with a walk-in shower is also located on this floor.

There is even a pretty walled garden (with unfenced pond) where you can sip your morning coffee before venturing out to explore the this popular moorland town.

Visit the Beehive Farm Shop to stock up on necessities or stop by Blacks Delicatessen to see the assortment of home-baked goods.

After a relaxing stroll along the riverbank, there are plenty of eateries to sample and a fantastic range of traditional pubs providing hearty meals.

Why not pack a picnic and take a leisurely stroll around Fernworthy Reservoir?

The National Trust's Castle Drogo and Finch Foundry are both located just a short car drive from Chagford.

The Dartmoor National Park offers a variety of scenic walking paths that cover its vast moorland and wind through the deep river basins.

Okehampton 12 miles; Exeter 21 miles.

A picturesque town at the northern point of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. Chagford, one of the five Stannary towns of Dartmoor, is small in size but is packed with amenities and things to do. There is a wide range of shops as well as four pubs. Chagford also has more active facilities such as public tennis court and a seasonal, open-air swimming pool to enjoy at your leisure. It is a town of great history, home to the Three Crowns Hotel which dates back to the 1200's. Chagford is well known for its culture, hosting film, literary and music festivals in the town as well as an annual running race, known as Two Hills Race. Just over 21 miles away is the bustling, beautiful city of Exeter for a different kind of break, definitely worth a visit. The charming, attractive town of Okehampton sits just 12 miles away.
