    “Lovely stay here.”

Jayne and Andy were fabulous hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely re book for when I’m back in Devon.

The property

A mile from Plymtree, tucked behind the owner's year-round B&B, a comfortable single-storey cottage caringly converted from an old farm dairy.

You have access to a courtyard made pretty with pots and, beyond the parking area, your own enclosed, mainly gravelled garden (picnic table, barbecue) with summer house (games, books) for children to play in and views over a sheep paddock to undulating countryside.

Open-sided games barn (table tennis, table football).

Dogs must be kept on leads on the grounds of the property due to livestock.

Inside, smart and cosy with original and quirky touches.

Five gentle ramped steps (handrail) up to open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, fridge, electric oven/induction hob) with TV/DVD.

4G Broadband.

Two bedrooms - a double (5' bed), and one with two singles; smart shower-room (suite).

Boot/utility room (washing machine, freezer) across the courtyard.

A super, friendly base for touring this interesting and diverse area of east Devon. Plymtree: small village (good pub, church, community shop) amidst rolling farmland, between Cullompton, 5 miles, and Honiton, 8.

Footpaths and bridleways locally.

About the location

PLYMTREE

Honiton 8 miles; Tiverton 11 miles; Sidmouth 13 miles.

Plymtree is a delightful village in East Devon with plenty to offer it’s visitors. Lying in the valley of the River Culm the village is surrounded by rolling Devon hills, green wooded valleys and scattered farming villages. Plymtree is home to a local pub, The Blacksmith Arms, along with additional village pubs within two miles serving good food. Also of interest is the community shop, run by volunteers and the historic parish church of St John the Baptist. The church itself dates back to the 14th century and of great interest is the 15th century addition, the painted rood screen. In the churchyard gaze at the ancient Yew Tree, thought to be over 1100 years old and the inspiration for the village’s name. Plymtree is only a short drive from the dramatic 20 mile stretch of Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site. Resorts such as Seaton, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are found along this stretch of coastline, and all have plenty to occupy their visitors. An easy drive from Plymtree is the cathedral city of Exeter with plenty of large shops, a wealth of museums, a theatre and many fabulous restaurants. Plymtree is also close to the rugged and unspoilt expanse of Exmoor National Park as well as the tranquil and beautiful Blackdown Hills (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
