“Beautiful cottage, if you want to get away and have peace and quiet this is the place for you.”
Porlock weir is a lovely little village, with lots of walks near by. Would definitely recommend
Porlock weir is a lovely little village, with lots of walks near by. Would definitely recommend- Mr Evans, May 2021
“Great well equipped cottage very secluded everything was in good condition and worked well.”
Toll road very rickety- Mrs Johnson, October 2020
“Set in a stunning, peaceful woodland location complete with tumbling, rocky stream immediately below cottage windows.”
Spotlessly clean and cosy with roaring open fire and comfortable beds. Wooded walks straight from the door and coast path to Porlock Weir close by. Very atmospheric and calming environment.- Mrs Cray, October 2020
“Stunning, Beautiful Location.”- Mr Hemmings, September 2020
“I did respond to the owner giving her feedback as follows: "We had a good time and found Lovelace, quiet, roomy, well equipped and very comfortable if a little quirky (bathroom access).”
We walked to Porlock Weir - a delightful place - most evenings round the village and along the beach. During the days we traveled out by car along that awful toll road – not so good but that aside within easy reach of many delightful places although we would normally have based ourselves nearer Lynmouth. We found the information pack that you sent most informative and were particularly interested in the Lytton and Lovelace history so many thanks for your help"- Mr Johnson, August 2020
“We had a great time.”
The cottage wasn’t listed as ..‘wheelchair friendly’ but it is! We have a daughter with cerebral palsy...the cottage was more than adequate..in fact she loved it! (As did we..and our Jack Russells!)- Mrs Moores, February 2020
“In a beautiful setting with great walks and place’s to stop eat and see.”- Mr Cook, February 2020
“A warm and Cosy cottage in a wonderful location .”
It would be very difficult to find any fault with the property as the owners maintain a very high standard of cleanliness and repair. We liked the Welcome pack of essentials ie Tea , sugar , milk and biscuits as we arrived quiet late together with Storm Dennis . We would not hesitate to book the cottage again- Mr Murphy, February 2020
“We had to contact the agent regarding the number of beds as we were expecting one double and two singles.”
She came and sorted out the problem very promptly. I would suggest that the arrangement of number of beds required should be made clear when booking.- Mrs Hext, December 2019
“Cottage had everything we needed for a lovely Christmas.”
Location was ideal with beach and woodland walks and great pub on our doorstep; cottage was beautifully isolated up it’s own road- perfect for us. Cottage was warm and cosy for this time of year and Angela, the Caretaker, was kind and helpful when we arrived.- Mrs Riley, December 2019
“Excellent place to stay.”
However, it is quite isolated which to us is a big plus although some might not like that. And being in the countryside at night, with no street lights, it is DARK. A surprise to some who come from a city background. Enclosed in woodland, with a rushing stream running past it. A beautiful location and good value.- Mr Bruere, November 2019
“Fabulous holiday, didn't want to go home.”
Lovelace cottage had everything we needed and more. Rooms are large and comfortable. Maybe a couple of high back chairs in lounge would be an idea. Not a critisism though. The dogs loved the walks, no real need to go anywhere by car as public footpaths and beach within walking distance. Ideal location for those who love the countryside and the sea. If you take dogs, ensure they already treated with tick repellent. We will definitely return.- Miss Dowd, August 2019
“This is an amazing cottage isolated in the woods near to Porlock Weir.”
The property was very comfortable and suited our needs. The feature Garden/Patio probably could have been clearer as there was a small patio to the rear but no garden. The South West Coast path was 30 seconds from the house plus numerous other places suitable for families were in comfortable driving distance. Overall we would recommend, and definitely return.- Mr Nash, August 2019
“Really easy to book and a lovely holiday cottage in a perfect location.”
The cottage was in a beautiful setting next to a stream and surrounded by woodland, perfect place to relax and get away from it all. Beautiful walks right outside the front door and loads of tourist attractions only a short drive away. Porlock weir was a really lovely place, we didn't want to leave.- Mrs Carter, July 2019
“Perfect location for a peaceful getaway.”
Lovely country walks. Lovely restaurants and pubs near by. Nice to sit out on the patio and listen to the stream and the birds. Would highly recommend a stay at Lovelace.- Miss Mitchell-harris, June 2019
“Stunning location and a delightful, well-equipped cottage.”- Mr Smith, May 2019
“Would like to have been able to relax in the evening.”
The settees were lovely to look at but not the best to relax on.We had a very nice break there and look forward to returning sometime.- Mrs Pollard, May 2019
“The property was superb for 2 people in a fabulous location with plenty to do and see.”
Great walks run along this coast of the Exmoor National Park- Mr O'callaghan, May 2019
“Lovelace is a peaceful, well equipped and exceptionally clean cottage in a great location with all the facilities you need to have a home from home for your stay.”
We had a great time there, we enjoyed taking time out to sit in the garden and listening to the water cascading downhill past the cottage. A great place to relax and just be. We will return.- Mrs Arnold, April 2019
“Lovely setting so peaceful and had everything we needed.”
Will be back again soon.- Mrs Brown, April 2019
“The cottage and location were both beautiful!”
We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely come back again.- Mrs Ferreira, April 2019
“Lovelace is set in a beautiful quiet location and is ideal if you wish to get away for a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.”
It is a great base to explore the surrounding country side and local beaches. There are footpaths and bridal ways nearby to enjoy coastal or inland walks with amazing scenery. I’m planning to come back again very soon as I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay and would like to explore further this lovely unspoilt part of North Somerset.- Mr Stephens, February 2019
“What can I say we both really enjoyed our holiday and the cottage met our full expectations.”
Many thanks, Mike G- Mr Gillard, August 2018
“Beautiful Cottage, lovely surroundings, well equipped, very comfortable, fantastic base to explore the area.”- Mr White, June 2018
“The surrounding is beautiful.”
The house perfect to stay in. We were there for two weeks and still not seen everything. Gone everyday for hikes, perfect and even went in horse back riding. The people are so friendly . Note: good garden sun chairs and a separate toilet would make it even better.- Mr de Graaff, June 2018
“Overall the cottage is very good.”
However the supply of consumables is one of the worst we have stayed in. For example only one toilet roll and just two starch based bags for kitchen waste. Although apart from the starch bags this is not a problem, but not anticipated. The caretaker says that the owner determines the amount of consumables supplied.- Mr Avery, April 2018
