    • “we walked into a building site, they were trying to finish off the new wing before the grand re launch. This re-launch happened the day after we arrived. Loud live music went on until midnight, next door to us decided to talk outside until 2 am after coming back from the party. My children could not sleep until after the music had stopped. Wanted to leave the next day as I was so angry that the management staff there had no consideration for current residents. The cinema was still under construction, and was still not working when we left, The spa services was not installed, therefore no spa treatments were available. This was one of the main reasons why we picked this location so we could relax. The restaurant menu was very basic with no daily specials or Sunday roast available. No sky TV which considering the price is disappointing. There was no cheese grater or can opener within the utensils. To top it off no mobile coverage at all within the area and the telephone in the apartment never worked. The outdoor pool has a different entry code than what is published in the book. So whilst they are open I would not have chosen this location If I knew that they had not finished building the place or some of the services available were in fact not available.”

The Property

A sleek duplex apartment. Doors lead out to private patio on ground floor (table/chairs, South facing). Three bedrooms downstairs - Master bedroom with en suite shower room as well as twin and single bedrooms opposite family bathroom. Upstairs there is an open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen(microwave, oven, hobs, toaster, kettle) (with french windows leading to balcony (sea views). In the lounge area there is also a sofa bed.

Reverse-level duplex apartment. Three bedrooms: 1 x king with en suite with shower, WC and basin, 1 x twin, 1 x single. Bathroom with bath, WC and basin. Kitchen.

Regional Information

EAST PORTLEMOUTH South Pool 3 miles; Kingsbridge 8; Salcombe 1 mile (by passenger ferry) 15.8 miles (by car). East Portlemouth is a tranquil village nestled on the southern edge of the Kingsbridge Estuary in the South Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The small number of properties that make up this settlement are scattered on the hillside and around the cliff, with part of the village once being home to Coastguards employed during the nineteenth century to prevent any smuggling on this section of the South West Coast Path.
Nowadays the village offers a little cafe (open only on dry days) and a number of tiny peaceful beaches - Fisherman's Cove, Smalls Cove and Mill Bay - all of which have been awarded Safe Bathing status.
Further inland situated creekside, is the pretty village of South Pool with its delightful pub, the Millbrook Inn. A haven for food-lovers, this establishment serves a heady combination of fresh English ingredients with traditional Galic cooking.
Just across the estuary is the popular resort of Salcombe with its charming independent boutiques and plentiful selection of cafes, bars and restaurants, which can be reached easily by a five minute pedestrian ferry ride. Further down the coast are the historic town of Dartmouth with its Castle and the bustling city of Plymouth with its museums, aquarium, theatres, shopping and the Barbican.
