  • “This 2 bed apartment does have stunning views and is well located for both the beach and town but be aware of the steep climb for the last 5 mins of the walk!”

    Facilities are adequate but some of the furnishings could do with some updating. The addition of a small dishwasher would also be fantastic! The wifi did drop out every so often requiring a router reboot, but was generally pretty good, although not available in the main bedroom. Note mobile signal is a bit patchy in this area, depending on your network so the wifi is needed. ...

The wifi did drop out every so often requiring a router reboot, but was generally pretty good, although not available in the main bedroom. Note mobile signal is a bit patchy in this area, depending on your network so the wifi is needed. As there is no dishwasher, we found that some of the crockery and glasses needed washing before use which was disappointing. The cold water pipes are clearly right next to the hot pipes so taps have to be run for some time to get cold water, which is rather wasteful. Otherwise the apartment was clean and beds comfortable. The addition of a couple of drying racks would also be appreciated as limited places to hang wet towels.

Our customer team are always happy to make further enquiries prior to booking if this could be an issue for you. A dishwasher is not included in the details for the property and hasn't been installed due to practical reasons relating to the cupboard space available. The property

½ mile from the centre of Salcombe and 500 yards (via footpath) from North Sands beach, on a sunny hillside, three comfortable and welcoming apartments (of eight).

The apartments have shared use of the communal sloping lawned garden to the side of the main building, and the ground-floor apartment also has its own private garden.

Shared laundry room (coin-operated washing machine/tumble drier).

A fabulous, fuss-free base in a beautiful part of the world.

2 Hazeldene is a first-floor apartment, accessed down exterior steps and up the main staircase from a communal hall.

You are welcome to use the shared garden to the front of the main building.

Inside, it is welcoming and comfortable with exceptionally good views of the coast from both the bedrooms and living area.

Neat open-plan living/dining/kitchen (microwave, freezer, fridge, electric cooker) with TV/DVD and sliding doors to a balcony (chairs).

Two bedrooms - a double (5' bed) with en suite bathroom (suite) and own balcony, and a smart twin (washbasin) with compact en suite shower-room (shower, loo) and balcony. Salcombe: one of the most beautifully sited small towns in Britain, at the mouth of the Kingsbridge estuary, a yacht haven with creeks, sandy bays.

Waterside pubs, nice shops.

Boats to hire, fishing, superb Nat.

Trust cliff walks/gardens; museum, tennis, outdoor swimming pool (in summer); pedestrian ferry to East Portlemouth (lovely beaches, The Venus Café and Takeaway).

Thurlestone and Bigbury (golf), 6 and 8 miles.

Kingsbridge 7 miles; Dartmouth 21 miles; Plymouth 24 miles; Paignton 26 miles.

Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
