“We very much enjoyed our stay at Teign Cottage.”

The information provided by the owners was very helpful and the contacts they made with us made us feel very well supported. We missed seeing them on several occasions so did not meet them, unfortunately, but knew they were near to help if we had needed any help.

The property

Tucked moments from the river beach in the heart of Shaldon, Teign Cottage is a wonderful, unique Grade II thatched cottage with some views towards the river and Teignmouth beyond from both the sitting room and master double.

Inside full of character, wobbly walls and some low doors - a special place to stay but if you're over 6' or prefer level floors and ceilings then it might not be ideal.

From the enclosed terrace at the front, step down to hall with space for coats and boots, sitting room with TV and electric flame-effect fire .

Across the sand-washed hall a good sized kitchen/dining room with fitted kitchen with window seat.

Large table perfect for planning the day's activities around.

Twisting and steep stairs lead from the kitchen up to a good sized landing and two bedrooms; a twin and a double with kingsize with TV, plus a bathroom (suite) complete with washing machine and small porthole on the door.

Downstairs WC Teign Cottage is a lovely, quirky and special place to stay tucked moments away from the sandy beach and the heart of the bustling village with lots of good cafes, pubs and shops to choose from.

Teignmouth across the water (accessible via pedestrian ferry or road bridge) is a traditional resort town complete with pier and mainline station.

The larger town of Torquay is 7 miles and the Cathedral city of Exeter is 15 miles away and perfect destinations for a day out exploring.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
