The nearby lively town of Chard, just three miles away, offers a good selection of shops and a variety of restaurants and inns. The surrounding countryside close to the Chard reservoir offers an interesting habitat for wildlife and birds, a super place for nature lovers to spend time. Whilst there's a wealth of interesting country houses and gardens to visit nearby, including the National Trust's Barrington Court, Montecute House and Forde Abbey. Alternatively, take the easy drive to Dorset and Devon’s scenic Jurassic Coast or the short drives to Lyme Regis, West Bay, Sidmouth and Beer. An interesting holiday base at any time of the year.
