    Spacious and ideal for a family or large group. The kitchen and dining area were perfect for a large number of guests. 2 dishwashers and 4 washing machines - we were spoilt! ...

    Spacious and ideal for a family or large group. The kitchen and dining area were perfect for a large number of guests. 2 dishwashers and 4 washing machines - we were spoilt! The views of the garden and sea were beautiful and the surrounding countryside and coastal areas were stunning. We could walk the coastal path from our garden and one afternoon, we walked to Blackpool Sands which is a very pretty beach. Dartmouth is 10 minutes away - a very pretty coastal resort. Lots to see and do - the Rare Breeds Farm is highly recommended too.

The property

Near the centre of Strete, a large detached house with gravelled forecourt and big,mainly flat, grassy, enclosed garden at the back (small terrace, garden furniture, barbecue, gate to field and direct access to Coast Path).

Stunning,180 degree sea views from all south-facing windows.

Blackpool Sands, about 20 minute walk via lovely woods and Coast Path (no roads).

Inside comfortable and spacious with original paintings and full of light.

Blackpool Sands (coarse sand, The Venus Café, Restaurant, Takeaway and Watersports), 1½ miles, and, a mile away, the magnificent crescent of Slapton Sands and Slapton Ley nature reserve (birdwatching, walks).

Dartmouth (restaurants, cinema, river trips, steam railway), 5 miles.

Dartmouth 4.8 miles

Strete is a village looking over Start Bay just south of Dartmouth. The hills and countryside that encircle the village to the west converge on the memorable coastline forming one of the most visually striking images in the South Hams. There is a post office and general store in the village along with a lovely church plus the well renowned Laughing Monk restaurant. There is a small community area where you can picnic and walk your dog with its wildlife section and notable views of Start Bay.
