“A lovely property which is ideal for a large family gathering”
“Comfortable well appointed house ideal for our regular family gathering.”
Both fires made up ready to be lit. Good food pub two doors away. Seaside 1 mile. Busy A35 directly outside but little noise interference. Good parking but fairly narrow access off main road.
“Park Farmhouse in Chideok was the perfect place to celebrate my 65th Birthday with family & friends.”
Great location with close access to the beach at Seatown (20mins walking) & West Bay & Bridport which is 10 mins drive or taking the local bus (bus stops outside the cottage)
“We had a fantastic weekend at Park Farmhouse in November which began with a friendly, welcoming phone call from the owners shortly after our arrival to check that everything was ok.”
It was an ideal setting for a large family gathering, really well equipped, all 16 of us had boiled eggs for one of the breakfasts! The house was very comfortable (including the beds!), with nice, good quality furnishings while also feeling relaxed, spacious but cosy. Two sitting rooms both with fires and ample comfortable sofas were pleasant in the evenings. There was something for everyone; the lads had a table tennis tournament, nearly everyone got in the pool, the garden was secure for the dogs and the playroom in the house was very popular with chess being played by the youngsters. It is also in a beautiful spot, with lovely walks from the door. Despite being close to the main road we could hardly hear a thing due to the thick walls and good glazing. Very much recommended!
“Had a very happy Ninetieth family holiday, loved the pool.”
“I have given Helpful Holidays an "extremely likely" for recommendation to others but cannot extend this to Sykes Holidays.”
The service has changed dramatically and certainly far below previous high standards of Helpful Holidays. I was unable to get answers to queries and kept on the telephone for ages. The person dealing with the queries was unable to answer them without referring to a Manager. The website for Sykes holidays is very poor in comparison to Helpful Holidays. This is so sad having used Helpful Holidays for many years. Park Farmhouse is an excellent holiday home and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Such a well equipped kitchen when catering for 15 people. Perfect location and very comfortable. Thank you
“Great house, perfect for a large family holiday.”
House has everything you could ever need. Swimming pool is great to have and pub next door is lovely. A car is a must have for this property. The road outside is very busy.
“The house was very well equipped, especially the kitchen.”
We had difficulty operating the washer/dryer, and felt that for so many people a very simple separate washing machine and separate tumble dryer would have been more efficient.
“Superb accommodation for celebration and large family group.”
Farmhouse superbly equipped and high standard inside. Pool and garden excellent. Great for all ages. The family loved it.
“This is an amazing house for a family holiday.”

In the centre of the village of Chideock is this big, thatched, detached farmhouse.
A couple of doors from a good pub and with the footpath to the beach across the road, this is a splendid house for families or friends to gather and socialise.
As you cross the lawn from the parking area, you will find the indoor swimming pool in a building in the garden, a wonderful facility for family fun or quiet lengths.
Head down the steps from the garden into the utility area off the long farmhouse-style kitchen with its big cooker and little breakfast table.
Off this is the brilliant dining room with long table for enjoying sociable meals.
The two sitting rooms give an option for watching TV, playing games or sitting quietly.
Two staircases lead up to seven of the bedrooms, a double room and a fun little twin up a ladder under the eaves.
The other two en suite bedrooms are in a dear little detached Creamery in the garden, ideal for anyone seeking a little peace.
A small patch of garden at the front separates the house from the A35 road, and the main garden is at the back, a lovely lawn within walls, plus a patio with outdoor furniture and barbecue, a little games room and a sun terrace.
With the sea within walking distance, this is a great place for enjoying the beach or fossil hunting or walking the Coast Path.
Golden Cap has amazing views.
Bridport and Lyme Regis are interesting places to explore, or why not head to Weymouth to take a day trip to the Channel Islands?
With its fabulous indoor pool, Park Farmhouse is a lovely place for big groups.

About the location
Bridport 2 miles. Lyme Regis 7 miles. West Bay 4 miles.
The pretty village of Chideock (pronounced Chiddick) can be found straddling the main A35 road between Bridport and Honiton, in glorious West Dorset. Many of the quaint cottages lining the road are constructed of cob and the honey-coloured local sandstone. Lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the area has plenty of lovely walks, whilst just 1 mile away is Dorset's Jurassic Coast, famed for its fossils and ease of finding them, where a walk along the coastal path affords spectacular views across the sparkling waters of Lyme Bay towards Portland, Chisel beach and the Devon coast. A short drive east takes you to the ancient rope-making town of Bridport, and the harbour at West Bay, or venture west to visit the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis. An excellent holiday base from which to explore this scenic area.
