    • “A beautiful cottage with the most fantastic host. We stayed at the cottage for 2 weeks with our daughters (ages 6 and 8) and it was absolutely ideal. A beautiful hamper on arrival from the owner, Tracy, who went totally above and beyond during our stay. The cottage is perfect for a self catering holiday with everything you need and is in a lovely location that is a great base to explore Somerset. Our girls loved having the free reign of the orchard and paddock and toasting marshmallows on open fire was a total delight. Would strongly recommend.”

    Guest's Review On TripAdvisor,

    • “Having stayed in countless cottages across the UK, I don't think we have ever received such a wonderful and warm welcome as the one we had from Tracey. Her welcome hamper was just so special and full of her homemade delights! The cottage is all newly renovated to the highest standard and is so tastefully decorated. The beds were so comfortable. In a beautiful and peaceful location...but a short drive to so many wonderful places of interest. A true gem! ❤️”

    Guest's Review On TripAdvisor,

    Mr. W & Family,

    • “A beautiful well equipped peaceful cottage. Tracy was a wonderful host who made our stay perfect. Lovely welcome pack and leaving gift. Everything is so well thought out. Thank you for making our stay so great.”

    Mr P Williams,

    • “We had a lovely time at Wassail Cottage. Tracey made us feel very at home, letting the kids run wild in the orchard and giving us a lovely welcome pack of local bread, cheese and jam made from the fruit from her land. It was a perfect break. The house was spotless and beautifully presented.”

    Guest's Review On TripAdvisor,

    • “We drove through a dark, late evening to arrive at the beautiful and sparklingly lit Wassail Cottage. Tracy has given such care and passion to this project and gave us the little extras that mean so much - homemade apple juice, welcome basket, fresh herbs and flowers and a little chocolate sheep for Rose. The cottage is so lovely with is antique furniture and we will have to return to cosy up to the wood burner in winter. Thank you so much.”

    The Stock Family,

    • “A beautifully decorated and located cottage to explore Somerset. Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and Wells gave us a fun packed holiday. Highly recommended the Bath Arms - delicious food! Thank you Tracy for your thoughtful welcome pack and leaving gift. We have had a wonderful stay.”

    Mr & Mrs Tettmar,

    • “We have had a such a lovely time in this beautiful cottage. Really enjoyed exploring some of the local area-we would love to come back to continue to explore and make use of the wonderful log burner which we didn't get to light this time! The extra touches such as the super welcome pack, flowers and fresh herbs were so thoughtful- as was answering Freddie's endless questions!! Thankyou Tracy.”

    The Pinner Family,

The Property

Found at the bottom of the owners' drive, on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Cocklake, Wassail Cottage is a beautifully converted former hay store, and a holiday home that has been described as a 'true gem' by previous guests. With an unusual name derived from the ancient ceremony of wassailing (drinking a 'cup' and singing to the apple trees in cider-producing regions) it overlooks an apple orchard from which the owners make a number of delicious products - as you would expect from this part of the countyside! Wassail Cottage has undergone a wholesale update and the finished product is beautiful and very smart with especially attractive living accommodation presented in a contemporary style - very light, welcoming and spacious. We felt at home immediately and we're sure you will too the moment you walk in and 'switch off'. A wonderful barn in some traditional Somerset countryside.
