The house is very spacious for a large group. The views were beautiful & there was plenty to do within an easy drive. The annexe was pleasant but the description really needs to make it clear that the access is outside of the main house. Unfortunately we felt the house was a little “grubby” & needed a really good deep clean, for example the bathroom suites were clean but the oven was rather dirty. The towels were unattractive brown colours & smelt damp - like they hadn’t been dried properly. There was also a lack of instructions for things that had signs saying “refer to instructions” eg the cooker hob. Lots of the pans provided didn’t work on the induction hob. One of the dining chairs broke when one of our party sat on it - we told the housekeeper & she said it happens all the time - if this is the case why haven’t they all been replaced with better ones? The house was warm once the heating was on but we couldn’t control the timing of the heating ourselves, as it was late October we were returning to the house at about 3pm every day but the heating wasn’t coming on until 5pm. The towel rails didn’t work despite being switched on at the wall - this made it tricky to dry wet towels after showers. Considering this wasn’t a cheap house & very much placed as being a luxury holiday home I was quite disappointed & question the value for money.
