“A traditional family home with a modern kitchen, dining room, sitting room & spacious conservatory.”

The owners had thought of everything we might need; really comfortable. A quiet location in a friendly village with several shops and a pub. Beautiful Dorset countryside with lots of interesting places to visit. The perfect holiday home.

The property

Tucked away in the idyllic Dorset village of Maiden Newton, Little Orchard is ideally placed for combining coastal and countryside holidays with families or friends.

A pretty and peaceful village, the bustling town of Dorchester lies just 7 miles and the magnificent Jurassic coast can be reached within 30 minutes.

Little Orchard is set back from a quiet, no through road, a gated gravel driveway leading up to the house with plenty of parking outside.

Step into the hallway that leads through to the kitchen/breakfast room equipped with a range cooker and everything you need to comfortably, cater for your staycation in Dorset.

There is a useful utility room and a separate ground floor cloakroom. For formal occasions, a separate dining room is the place to gather and perfect for Christmas and celebratory meals and after a day exploring, kick back and relax on squashy sofas and enjoy a film or favourite TV show in the comfort of the living room.

Most of your time however, will be spent in the spacious conservatory equipped with a farmhouse dining table, chairs and settee with a wood burning stove to stave off Autumn and winter evening chills.

The room is bright and airy with views out across the magnificent garden to the side and rear.

Tiled floors provide a Mediterranean vibe and invite you to unwind in this beautifully light and airy atmosphere.

Head upstairs and off the landing where you will find four lovely bedrooms providing your party with plenty of sleeping versatility.

Each one dressed in crisp white linen, there is a super-king, two king size rooms, one with en-suite WC and a twin room.

A family bathroom with double-ended slipper style bathtub & separate shower allows for a relaxing soak or refreshing drench to start your day. The wraparound garden at Little Orchard is a colourful array of mature planted beds and a lovely large lawn with a pebbled seating area equipped with garden table and chairs providing a place for summer barbecues and alfresco dining.

Maiden Newton is a picturesque village with a store and a great pub.

The beautiful rolling landscape affords wonderful walking both coastal and inland.

Enjoy the scenery from the Hardy’s monument and wander around the pretty village of Abbotsbury before heading to the subtropical gardens or Abbotsbury Swannery.

Bridport and the seaside resort of West Bay where the TV series Broadchurch was filmed are within a 30 minute drive and an undulating breath taking scenic walk along the coastal path will bring you to the Hive Beach Café, perfect for afternoon tea and cake!

There is much to do and plenty to see in this beautiful part of the world, however if all you want to do is to put your feet up and unwind, Little Orchard makes for a perfect choice for restful holiday at any time of year.
