The property

In Milborne St Andrew, the former Methodist chapel lovingly recreated as a state-of-the-art, contemporary and stylish house.

To one side, enclosed garden (table/chairs, pots).

Inside, architect designed and magnificent.

Double doors from porch to open-plan living/dining/kitchen with huge vaulted ceiling and leaded-light windows that allow light to flood in and play on soft paint colours; sleek, industrial-style kitchen area (dishwasher, combi-microwave, freezer, larder fridge, electric range-style cooker) with large table/benches/chairs and sitting area with woodburner, iPod dock and Jawbone speaker (no TV).

Utility room (washing machine).

Downstairs shower-room (wet-room suite).

Separate towering spiral staircases to two bedrooms under the eaves with views across village rooftops from Velux windows - a double and a twin (2'6" beds), each with en suite shower-room (suite) and limited clothes-hanging space.

No children under 6 due to separate stairs.

Damages Deposit £250.

An extraordinary conversion, a wonderful, fanciful escape for couples exploring a fabulous area together. Milborne St Andrew: small village (pub, PO/shop) in a valley below the great chalk downland arc of the Dorset hills (walks), at the heart of Thomas Hardy country and mid-way (9 miles) between Dorchester and Blandford Forum (Georgian market town).

Langhams vineyard, 2 miles.

The ‘Jurassic Coast’ (Durdle Door, Ringstead Bay, Lulworth Cove), 13 miles; Poole and Bournemouth (sandy beaches), 22 miles.
