“Delightful cottage in peaceful surrounds with footpaths nearby for the dogs.”
Fresh flowers/ milk/eggs & cakes on arrival were a very welcome touch.
Fresh flowers/ milk/eggs & cakes on arrival were a very welcome touch. We only came for the weekend but would definitely think of coming again did a longer stay.
“I left messages for the Owner last Weds.”
28/8 & 29/9 but had no replies so had to get hold of her, later on 29/8 via Sykes. Unfortunately we had a horrific journey to Dorset on 30/8 which took 7 1/2 hrs. Whilst this was not anything to do with the owner & she was sympathetic to our plight when I telephoned on 31/8. knowing that my partner as I had advised her was severely physically handicapped, I thought as she lives very nearby that she might have called in to check that we were alright. The Owner had kindly left us some goodies which was appreciated. The general accommodation is good but the main bedroom was very small & the bed was large & very high which caused us problems. There was no chair available either in the bedroom or bathroom. We brought in an outside chair which had arms but these chair were filthy & had obviously not been treated for years which is unacceptable! My family bought a chair which they brought with them. Unfortunately Ray slipped on to the floor, trying to get into bed on Sat. & Sun. night; luckily my son in law had joined us & was able to help. There are no handles by the shower; this was also remarked on by neighbours in their rental cottage. My comments are based on the fact that I was previously a cottage owner & my remarks are based on my experience as such. I am happy to have my have my remarks published but not to have my name in the public domain.
“Lovely, well appointed cottage, very clean and comfortable.”
Good, secure outdoor space in beautiful countryside. We'll situated close to all amenities. Friendly helpful owners.
“Greay location, really comfortable home, ready and prepared before arrival.”
Will recomend it.
“Forget me not cottage is very spacious and comfortable.”
It is separated from the other large property by the two storied games room. This means large parties do not disturb other visitors. There are a lot of comments about the driveway - but truely if you drive slowly you and your car will be fine!! (unless you have a super low sports car). The owners are on hand and most helpful. The cockerel, guinea fowl, horses and surrounding fields do remind visitors that town and city are blissfully far away.
“Nice cottage, very friendly & helpful owner.”
Spacious and comfortable; games room is a nice option. Local area is delightful and the cottage is well-situated to explore this. The road leading to the cottage is an unpaved farm-track - we probably should have anticipated it but greater mention of this on the advert would probably be helpful (although it causes no problems if you drive slowly). Some of the fixtures & fittings are getting a bit "tired"; cupboard doors coming of the hinges, some of the games broken or missing pieces. With a little money spent on the cottage it would be top-notch but it's otherwise perfectly comfortable and we'd recommend it as somewhere to stay.
“Cleaner still there at 3.”
45 we had to wait in the car until 4pm .
“Such a beautiful part of our country and the weather was perfect.”
Really lovely cottage. We felt really at home.
“Lovely location but the track to the farm was not acceptable feared damage to car.”
“I believe we paid a deposit to be refunded when leaving and everything was ok.”
When do we get that money?
“Forget Me Not Cottage was gorgeous cottage, fantastic interior and fabulous location.”
Peaceful, relaxing and we loved spending time there. Will be looking to re-book the cottage. Owners took the time to check that we had everything we needed. I have nothing but praise for the cottage.
“The accomodation was great but was let down by lack of provision of the following things: toilet roll (v little provided), washing up brush or sponges, hand soap, hot water (every morning at least 2 of us had a cold shower and there wasn't always hot water for washing up).”
We went out and bought soap etc. Also, the dishwasher did not clean the dishes so we had to wash everything by hand.
“The cottage was ideal, but the farm track leading up to the cottages is full of pot holes.”
Even driving very slowly, some could not be avoided. Unfortunately this could impact on whether or not we choose to return to this property.
“Forget me not cottage was lovely it was warm clean and comfortable and we really ...”
Forget me not cottage was lovely it was warm clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed the walks and views over the farm even in February can't wait to go back
