It is a nice house that is in a great location: close to the centre of town but on a quiet street. The owner was great to deal with and accommodated all our needs. The only negative was that Skyes Cottages was often hard to get ahold of: no email and rarely answered telephone.

“This property is in an ideal location for exploding the surrounding areas.”

Easy walk to town where you can sit on the quay with lovely places to eat and drink. If you don’t want to drive then a good bus service running from the town. I see it has been mentioned about the parking yes you can get a car in the space bit of a squeeze but can be done. The property was well furnished and clean it was a very comfortable stay. Would I recommend, yes most definitely have already passed details on. This property well deserves the 10 out of 10

We found the beds comfy and the parking was fine for our estate car. Where the property is position is a few minutes walk from some lovely shops and restaurants and nice walks along the river. Wareham is also the most ideal place to explore other areas of Dorset we do plan to return. Thanks Becca

“Fantastic place to stay and would thoroughly recommend.”

We really enjoyed our week exploring beautiful Wareham and Dorset. Leap House is just a stone's throw from the town centre but it was so quiet and peaceful. The house was really great - lovely private terrace at the back which we used every day; and the most comfortable beds and best equipped kitchen of any holiday cottage I've ever rented. (There was no washing machine, but that wasn't an issue for us at all as we were only there for a week). Only a couple of very minor niggles - the parking at the rear was quite tight (we weren't able to get a spot on the road at all); and the 'hole' under the carpet just inside the doorway of the master bedroom really needs fixing! Still 10/10 from us :)

“A great property in a great location with everything needed for a comfortable stay for the whole family.”

Plenty of space for a family of 4 (and more). Only negative is the parking space is very tight for a bigger car but with perseverance it wasn’t an issue.

The location was perfect as it's just a couple of minutes walk down to the quay, and Wareham was a great place to be based to explore the local area. Having parking was a big bonus too as it made coming and going so much easier. I've already recommended Leap House to friends and family and we're thinking of booking again for next year as it's such a great spot!

“We very much enjoyed our stay at Leap House, it was extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything you would need.”

The beds especially were lovely and comfortable and cosy. The kitchen facilities were spot on, with every utensil you need. I felt very much at home. The only small issue we had was the parking, the car parking space at the back of the house is fine, it's just the neighbour does not leave you much room, its shared and the neighbour certainly did not make it easy to squeeze in. We did manage to park out the front of the house a couple of times, but those spaces are taken very quickly so it's down to pure luck. All in all we would definitely return, we loved Leap House.

Could really have done with a washing machine as we had young children, a two week stay would have meant multiple trips to a launderette. Other than that it was very comfortable and a nice place to spend a week.

“Some soap to enable guests to wash their hands after using the lavatory would have been thoughtful.”

My sister runs a holiday let and always provides this. Absolutely no welcome pack for guests at all...... The house was clean but it lacked atmosphere. It felt like an empty shell really. I resent being asked to strip the beds at the end of our holiday in addition to making sure the place is left “clean and tidy”. You might as well pay me the cleaning fee.

It was just what we wanted to explore the local area from. We ate out in the town at several very nice restaurants/pubs but if we had wanted to cook the equipment and facilities looked excellent. It we visit this area again we would be happy to stay here.

Comfortable and clean cottage with *most mod cons and dedicated off road parking for one car at the back of the house (parking on the street in front of the property is often possible depending on time of day and how busy the town is) * it would be really great if there was a washing machine in the property/garage although there is a Laundrette in the town.

“Leap House is a lovely well maintained and well equipped property in a great location.”

2 small things to note are that nearly all the bedding is feather. Very cosy but not so good if you have a feather allergy. The parking is ok and a bonus in this town but a bit tricky at first. We have a Ford Focus and we fitted in fine but anything larger would be a problem. Very little chance of on road parking outside the property, we only saw spaces on 2 occasions and not for long. As a possible alternative most of the town car parks have free overnight parking which was from 7pm until 10am. The location is lovely in the town of Wareham, great local facilities and lovely things to do locally. Specially recommend the walk around the town walls including a visit to St Martin's church, a visit to Arne bird reserve, a walk around Studland over the heath and back along the beach (don't miss Studland church a real gem!). Also Durlaston country park near Swanage which has a nice cafe serving good food. Our weather was very mixed but we found many lovely things to do.

“A very comfortable, exceptionally clean, nicely furnished property.”

We'd be very happy to stay there again. Black out curtains would be great as the blinds in the bedroom let in too much light. We found the two chairs in the dining room very low, whereas the bench was the correct height for the table. The parking was good but a little tricky for a large car.

“Leap House is situated in a peaceful setting overlooking the Castle House Grounds yet was a short walk to the Quay and equally in another direction towards the lovely Walled Town of Wareham and local shops.”

The accommodation delivered what it promised . It 's neutral decor and comfortable rooms were spotlessly clean. The lounge/diner was well furnished and the kitchen very well equipped with everything you would need if you wished to stay in and cook now and again. Bedrooms too No metal or plastic coat-hangers either but instead plenty of good quality non slip ones which although a small point were indicative of the attention to detail which makes a difference when away from home . Very importantly for us when we are away for a bit of 'R and R is the chance to get a good night's sleep. Here the beds very very comfortable with good pillows and lovely bedding.. We shall certainly return as we have family in Wareham and this is the ideal place to combine a family visit with a bit of a Jolly.

“Had a fantastic few days at Leap House earlier this month (March) It's town centre location and parking space made it a perfect base for exploring the town of Wareham with its interesting shops , pubs and plenty of places to eat.”

Only a short drive to other attractions such as Corfe Castle with its preserved railway link to the seaside town of Swanage, or Monkey World and the Tank museum also only a few miles from Wareham. Leap house was warm and comfortable with a modern look to the decor and great kitchen! It was perfect for our party of three although the front double bedroom lacked wardrobe space. Not a problem in our case as we used redundant space in the other rooms. Altogether an enjoyable holiday !

Good bus services meant we had many places to visit with minimal hassle. The public house on the quay served a fabulous Sunday lunch and the locals were easy going. All in all a great place to stay for a relaxed home from home holiday.

Leap House is a lovely semi-detached cottage situated in the market town of Wareham just nine miles from Poole in Dorset.

The cottage can sleep five people in one king-size double bedroom, one twin room and one single together with a family bathroom.

Also in the cottage is a kitchen and sitting room with dining area and wood burner.

Outside is off road parking for one car and a private rear patio with furniture and a front enclosed garden.

Leap House is a lovely cottage to use as a base for exploring this beautiful part of the country.

Corfe Castle 5 miles; Poole 9 miles; Swanage 11 miles;

Wareham, affectionately known as the ‘Gateway to the Purbecks’ is an ancient Dorset waterside market town. Situated between the River Frome and quaintly named River Piddle, its charming riverside location makes the town a popular holiday destination. Dating back to Saxon times, the town was once surrounded by walls, and became an important port with boats bringing supplies up the River Frome from nearby Poole harbour. Today, the river provides a great playground, you can hire a boat from the attractive quayside and chug your way down the stream, take one of the regular organised boat trips, browse the colourful Saturday market or simply just enjoy an ice cream or a drink relaxing on the Quayside. Whilst seasonally there are also numerous popular events taking place beside the river. A short drive takes you to the Arne peninsula jutting out into Poole Harbour, a designated RSPB reserve, where you can stroll down to the water’s edge, taking in glimpses of the impressive bird population and often viewing some of the resident deer. The friendly seaside resort of Swanage is also easily accessible, where you can experience a traditional family-friendly day out on the beach, or take the coastal path and stop off for refreshment at Durlston Country Park. A real treat is to drive to nearby Corfe Castle and take the vintage steam railway to Swanage. Wareham offers visitors a super Dorset holiday destination at anytime of the year.
