“A lively hut and a beautiful location.”

Enough shade to cope with extreme heat. Very friendly and helpful owners and their dog. Lots of the information. Two things could be improved: - the mattress needs to be renewed - the hut could be decluttered to created more space for visitors stuff. We loved our stay, Paul & Winnie

Enjoy your morning coffee outside at the bistro table.

There is also a fire pit to warm your toes whilst stargazing on balmy summer nights.

There is a wealth of countryside walks on the doorstep, or take a 15 minute stroll to the award winning pub The Yew Tree.

The pub is over the road from one of the South of England’s most delightful and picturesque cricket pitches.

Sunday cricket is a regular fixture here in the summer.

There is plenty to do further afield with Jane Austins House at Chawton 3 miles, The Gilbert White's House and Museum nearby, The Grange Opera (open May and June) and of course the city of Winchester with King Arthur's Table and the Cathedral.

About the location

ALRESFORD

Winchester 7.6 miles, Basingstoke 15 miles, Guildford 30 miles

The Georgian market town of Alresford is made up of the village of Old Alresford mentioned in the Doomsday Book and the main town of New Alresford and in the 1860’s was connected to London by a railway line that was used to transport Watercress that the town was widely famous for producing. The line became known as the “Watercress Line” and still runs between Alresford to Alton through the picture perfect Hampshire countryside. Now this quiet and pretty town is the perfect place for a gentle stroll, where the colour-washed Georgian houses, independent and specialist shops are mixed with characterful pubs, modern eateries and traditional tea rooms. Enjoy the Riverside Walk where you will find the Fulling Mill built in the 13th century or visit the Old Alresford Pond that is home to an abundance of wildlife including otters and wildfowl. To fully enjoy the history of the town, take the Millennium Trail a series of footpaths that weave and interlink around the town.
