Woodpecker Lodge is an impeccably-equipped holiday lodge just a short distance from the idyllic, rural village of Butterleigh, near Silverton in Devon.

Ideal for a family break or for couples travelling together, you can even experience farming life up close during the lambing season on the 80 acres of a working farm in which the lodge is set.

Your holiday starts as soon as you pull into the spacious off-road parking area, breathe in the crisp Devon air, and gaze out at the beautiful landscapes that surround the property.

Unload your bags upon entering this lovely home, kick off your shoes, and enjoy the tasteful decor (and underfloor heating).

You won't run out of things to look at in the open-plan living area, which has a sizable sitting space with a chic corner sofa in front of the Smart TV and patio doors that open to breathtaking rural views.

The modern, sleek kitchen is equipped with everything the designated chef will need to prepare tasty meals for the entire family.

Get yourself a drink, and keep the cook company by pulling up a stool at the breakfast bar, before settling down at the spacious dining table.

Pop outside onto the wraparound terrace if the beautiful Devon weather is favourable and spend time taking in the scenery as the sun sets.

When night falls, choose one of two tastefully-decorated, bedrooms (super-king or twin), each of which have patio doors leading outside. There is no need to worry about waiting in line for the bathroom in the morning as the master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, in addition to a family shower room for all to share. Waking up at Woodpecker Lodge is a treat with the sights and sounds of the countryside right outside your door.

After a coffee on the balcony, you'll be eager to go and discover the wonders of the Devon countryside.

The pretty village of Butterleigh is within walking distance and the Butterleigh Inn is a popular choice for a meal out or an evening tipple. Further afield, the Fisherman’s Cot at Bickleigh also comes highly recommended. Visit the neighbouring village of Silverton and nearby Tiverton, which both offer a taste of typical English life with traditional pubs, local stores, together with attractions such as Tiverton Castle the Grand Western Canal with its horse-drawn barges, Tiverton Museum or the National Trust properties Knightshayes Court and Killerton House, as well as plentiful walks and cycling opportunities in the nearby countryside.

Wildwood Escot, Yarak Birds of Prey, Devon Railway Centre, and the Bear Trail in Cullompton are a few local family-friendly activities.

This is a great location for those who enjoy exploring historic homes and gardens, as well as taking in the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside. Exmoor National Park is within easy reach. Or visit the beautiful coastline of south Devon.
