Our selection of Green Cottages will help you tread lightly in the beautiful West Country…

“Take nothing but memories, leave nothing but footprints.”Have you discovered our Green Cottages label? It’s a helpful guide to the holiday homes which have features to help them make a minimal impact on the environment. Our Helpful Holidays offices are in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park and we love the green unspoiled nature, edged by spectacular blue and gold coastline, around us. As Einstein said, “The environment is everything that isn’t me.” So for our customers who, like us, are inspired by the landscape and would like to holiday in an environmentally sensitive way, we’ve identified holiday homes where your footprints will be gentle. To qualify for the Green Cottages label, each cottage is assessed for standards of energy use, pollution, water supply, wildlife-friendly features, landscape and provision of environmental guidance. Cottage owners are encouraged to think sustainably, but we don’t endorse a ‘hair shirt’ approach – environmental features aren’t promoted to the detriment of warmth and comfort. You can identify Green Cottages by the green tree symbol in our brochure, or by ticking the Green Cottage box when searching for holiday homes online. We currently offer 86 Green Cottages; here are a few stunners where you can relax in eco friendly comfort:
