The property

In the rural community of Iddesleigh, close to Hatherleigh, Devon, is the magnificent Victorian home known as Nethercott House.

While Michael Morpurgo's organisation Farms for City Children uses it during the school year, it is also a magical location for large gatherings of extended family or gregarious groups of friends at other times.

The three-story accommodation has a games room and is a great spot to unwind entirely and spend quality time with loved ones.

Enter the spacious hall, and then turn to see the sitting area with its cosy wood stove.

The opulent dining room's variety of tables and chairs and bay windows give it a Harry Potter feel.

As you walk inside the house, you can see that the kitchen and pantry have everything you need to prepare a feast for the entire party.

Playing table football and table tennis in the games room will keep the kids occupied.

Go upstairs to the first floor's eight bedrooms, five of which are gorgeous bunk rooms (with 2'6" beds) in the form of a dorm, plus twin rooms and further single.

A spacious office area leading to a master bedroom is located on the top floor.

With lawns, two ponds, a fire pit, views of Dartmoor, access to two rivers, and the Tarka Trail, there is a beautiful amount of room outside.

Traditional farm buildings and a vegetable garden are located towards the back.

Most likely, you won't want to leave this peaceful retreat in the country, but if you do, Hatherleigh, a little farming town, is full of interesting places to discover.

You can stroll, bike, or fish in the River Torridge on one of the many pathways in the vicinity, including the beautiful Tarka Trail.

A fantastic day excursion is to Bude's seaside.

Nethercott House is a special place where you may gather with friends and family and take in the gorgeous surroundings.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £250.
