The property

… near the centre of Strete,
a large detached house with gravelled forecourt and big,
mainly flat, grassy, enclosed garden at the back (small terrace, garden
furniture, barbecue, gate to field and direct access to Coast Path). Stunning,
180 degree sea views
from
all south-facing windows. Blackpool
Sands
, about 20 minute walk via lovely woods and Coast Path
(no roads).



Inside, comfortable and spacious with original
paintings and full of light. Hall, off which lobby (loo, good drying room),
leading to dining room with big picture window with sea view;
archway to smart, well-equipped kitchen with 8-burner hob/double ovens, twodishwashers,
tumble drier, microwave, fridge-freezer, espresso machine. Utility room (two washing machines, two tumble driers, larder fridge). Sun lounge with rattan furniture and door to garden.
Living room with lovely views, TV/Sky/DVD, ‘living flame’ gas fire; through
this room to large family room with TV/DVD, sliding doors to the garden.

Two staircases, one from dining room up to
first floor and two double bedrooms, both with bay windows, views, one with 5’
bed, washbasin and en suite luxurious bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus
hand shower), the other with step down to en suite bathroom
(suite, shower over bath); smart shower-room (suite); further stairs up to
second floor and an attic twin bedroom (sloping ceilings, loo) with the best view
of all. Second staircase from the family room up to two more bedrooms – a
double (5’ bed) with views, and a twin (footboards); bathroom
(suite, shower over bath plus hand-shower).

Sleeps maximum of 8 plus babies. A really welcoming
and generous coastal house for families at any time of year.

Strete: cliff-top village (restaurant, PO/shop) ½ mile walk from a shingle beach. Cliff-top Coast Path walk to secret cove (¾ mile). Blackpool Sands (coarse sand, The Venus Café, Restaurant, Takeaway and Watersports), 1½ miles, and, a mile away, the magnificent crescent of Slapton Sands and Slapton Ley nature reserve (birdwatching, walks). Dartmouth (restaurants, cinema, river trips, steam railway), 5 miles.

View next year's information

Landcolme cottage was in a fabulous location with stunning views across the bay. The house was well equipped and had every convenience for guests use, there was plenty of space with multiple seating areas giving guests plenty of space. Location is ideal for walkers as it is right on the coastal path, also the bus passes the front door for travel to Dartmouth and Kingsbridge. We have greatly enjoyed our week and will definatly return to Landcolme in the future.
