The property

A charming, semi-detached cottage, dating back to 1880, tucked away down a little single-track lane within the South Somerset village of Tatworth.

The village is also known as South Chard and is just three miles from the town of Chard itself, near the borders of both Dorset and Devon.

This lovely period cottage has been renovated to an extremely good standard, offering a delightfully comfortable home-from-home in Somerset.

It has two bedrooms with windows overlooking the adjacent little lane, a bathroom where you can enjoy a soak after a long day outside, and a well-equipped, narrow galley kitchen, access from the dining room down two steps.

The dining room has a warming, woodburner-style gas fire and a TV, meaning it can double up as a social space once dinner is over.

The cosy sitting room has stairs to the first floor and features a warming open fire providing a further place for your group to socialise.

Outside, there's a small private sitting area at the front and a private courtyard at the rear of the cottage, beside the little lane.

When the sun is shining, you can sit out here with a book, or enjoy refreshments whilst you discuss your day’s activities.

Close by are lovely rural walks to explore, whilst a short drive takes you into the nearby town of Chard, which offers an interesting selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.

There are several historic houses and beautiful gardens to visit within an easy drive, including Barrington Court, Forde Abbey and Montecute House.

Alternatively take the route south to the market town of Axminster, or take your buckets and spades and enjoy a fresh fish supper at the charming seaside resort of Lyme Regis.

A superb holiday cottage in a wonderful village location, offering a comfortable and convenient base for enjoying South Somerset, East Devon and West Dorset.

Note: This property is adjacent to Ref. 14229, together they sleep 9.
