The property

Martock 3.2 miles.

Vine Lodge is a charming single-storey annex resting on the outskirts of Kingsbury Episcopi near the larger village Martock, which was historically known as a market town.

Vine Lodge is a wheelchair-friendly and open-plan setting whilst you enjoy a romantic retreat in this part of Somerset, within easy reach of the Jurassic Coast.

You are greeted to the property by a shared driveway which offers off-road parking before you step onto the front patio, where there is a sweet picnic bench so you can enjoy your morning coffee in the fresh air.

Heading into the property, there is a lovely double bedroom where you can rejuvenate after a brilliant day, complimented by a bathroom with a spacious shower for guests to freshen up.

Moving through the ground-floor cottage, there is a handy utility room with a washing machine and a freezer before you step into the inviting open-plan living space.

Take advantage of the kitchen facilities to whip up a romantic meal for your loved one to enjoy together at the dining table before an evening of snuggling in front of the woodburning stove as you enjoy some television entertainment.

This open-plan space also offers two patio doors which lead to a garden with furniture, so you can enjoy some alfresco dining when that's what you fancy or sit out with a bottle of wine as you watch the sun set.

Take a short walk to the local village shop if you need to grab some self-catering essentials, or alternatively, drive to Martock where you will be spoilt for choice in what to indulge in, from pub grub and takeaways to Indian restaurants and bakeries.

For those who fancy some historical discoveries, enjoy the nearby National Trust properties; the 12th century medieval Treasurer's House, the 16th century country Montacute House with formal gardens, the Tudor mansion of Barrington Court with its walled orchards, or the 17th century Tintinhull Garden.

Whilst for those who are looking for a sea and sand escape, the sandy beaches at Charmouth and West Bay make a great day out, whilst Lyme Regis offers a fossil beach, a pebble beach and a sandy beach, as well as an aquarium and two interesting museums.

For a peaceful fishing spot, surrounded by rich woodland, visit Thorney Lakes, a 4 acre lake with a variety of fish, including roach, chubb, goldfish and eels!

If you can tear yourself away from the walking, fishing and cycling in the area, travel slightly further afar to find some amazing hills and up-close wildlife in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Blackdown Hills AONB or Dorset AONB.

Whether you want to indulge in some tasty food, explore some historical homes, swim in the English Channel, or walk amongst some of the country's most beautiful scenery, choose Vine Lodge as your base.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
