I would not recommend staying in a heatwave.

There are no air-conditioning facilities and its like being stuck in a very hot tin box. The house itself is very well equipped, with a beautiful kitchen, comfy garden furniture and good sized beds. Showers were a bit of a disappointment, not much pressure, just a drizzle of water unless you use the handheld part. The upstairs was pretty much unusable even with 3 fans going. Was 36° up there with the smallest amount of window you could open. We had a few games of pool up there before dripping in sweat and couldn't take heat anymore. Hot tub could also benefit from some form of covering as we had to wait until the shade hit before we could use it. This property would be lovely in the cooler weather, but unfortunately our stay were rather uncomfortable and I'm more than happy to be away and back home.

This place was absolutely amazing, the host were great.

Would recommend going there. We will definitely be back.

Situated in a gorgeous village on the outskirts of the Mendip Hills and close to the Chew Valley Lake, a pub and a couple of shops.

The property had everything you needed, detached, the larger of the 3 properties with an upstairs area. My recommendation was to have a fan for each room, especially the lounge area which was too hot to sit in when the weather was 30 degrees in June 26. Water pressure on both showers wasn't particularly strong. Having said this it wouldn't deter me from staying again. The hot tub was one of the reasons for choosing the property, it didn't disappoint. Overall I would recommend to anyone looking at booking.

Overall, this property was great for us to unwind.

It is in a beautiful part of the world, very clean property and loved the size of the rooms, hot tub and pool table. However, a few things could be added to make it 5 stars. 1. More fans available as the only ventilation is the downstairs patio doors. 2. Umbrella for the patio 3. Toaster 4. Clearer instructions on how to use the heating controls, oven and microwave. Warning for dog owners : the field outside the property you can see in the photos is private property. For dog toilets, you need to walk down the gravel driveway and cross a quiet lane to fields. Only couple of mins walk but not ideal if your dog needs middle of the night wees. General note: the walls are fairly thin, so you can hear TV sounds, or loud voices. We were lucky we had fairly quiet neighbours either side of us but our dog has quite a loud bark and would be activated when she heard the neighbours.

Lovely property in a great location not too far from places to visit such as Wells and Glastonbury to name a couple.

The local pub well worth tasting the food very good. Nice walk nearby to Chew Valley Lake worth doing. There are a few things that could be improved making this an even better place to stay. A toaster definitely rather than toasting under the grill Better ventilation as there are no windows you only have the large doors downstairs offering the only real option . Perhaps a shelf in the showers of some sort to put shampoo etc Otherwise great break despite the rain good to chill or visit the area around you.

A toaster would be of benefit as we had to stand over the grill so as not to burn the toast.

Also a gazebo for the garden, fortunately I asked if one was available before we went so we did take our own which was needed over the hot tub in the strong sun. Also, as I am unable to bend down due to hip problems a shelf in the shower would be of great help as I had to have my husband pass my shower gel, shampoo and conditioner….not a big problem but inconvenient. Overall a wonderful holiday was had by all

Lovely well equipped property. Plenty of places to visit in the area and Chew lake great to walk around with our dog. Great to relax in hot tub after a busy day.

7 was a brilliant find; it had everything we needed for our three-night stay. This house was very clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The hot tub was well maintained and very clean, and the pool table was a definite plus. Unfortunately, ventilation was a slight issue, so maybe installing windows that open would be beneficial. Sarah, the owner, is a lovely and very thoughtful lady; we would definitely like to return one day.

Pool table was great given the wet weather, several matches were played. Kitchen - a toaster and/or airfryer would be great additions. We found it incredibly difficult to control heating within property - perhaps preset zones would help?. Both couples struggled with there being no option for fresh air in bedroom areas. On the 3rd night couldn't use hot tub as water level low and there was a lot of foam, which put us off. Local pub in village was fine for a lunch. We had a nice weekend.

Lovely house in a quiet location with walks from the property.

Very clean and good facilities however the walls between the properties are very thin. We were woken up frequently by noise from next door and could hear conversations through the walls very clearly. The underfloor heating is great but even with it turned off we found the bedrooms too warm as no windows to open. These couple of things made the comfort of the house reduced from the top score.

Location is peaceful but just a few minutes from the village facilities and Chew Valley Lake. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing break and would book again.

Walls very thin so can easily hear every noise from neighbours.

Water pressure in shower very low. Temperature totally unpredictable and dangerous as fluctuated from scolding to very cold. Could not use overhead shower as it was a dribble of water at best. Sheets poor quality, perhaps synthetic. Plenty of towels but could also be better quality for the price paid.

I've just spent a week staying at No 7 and don't want to leave a bad review but I do think it's important to be honest.

It's a lovely property that's not been open for long and the owners live onsite so are quite responsive. However, I do wonder if they've actually stayed there, for at least a couple of nights? I got a welcome text the morning we were arriving (nice touch). This contained the first mention of there being horses in the field alongside the property, by the entrance. Our dog is extremely reactive and I wouldn't have booked if I'd known. I talked about the horses to Jon on day 1 and day 2 then thankfully bumped into Sarah on the morning of day 3. She immediately offered to block the horses' access to outside the property during the day which was great! If only this could have happened from the start, it would have removed some unnecessary stress for my dog (and me!). I was also very annoyed to have booked then receive a confirmation email saying dogs were not allowed on the furniture!!! Not very dog friendly. 3 photos on the listing all showed bath robes hanging next to the hot tub. However be aware there aren't any provided. Jon said that the listing doesn't actually mention them but 3 photos make it easy to not notice this and presume they will be present. Would have brought our own dressing gowns if we'd known. I did suggest that these photos be updated to avoid anyone else making this presumption. The heating is a law unto itself! Despite Jon saying that having it set at a lower temperature to what it actually is would stop the heating coming on, it doesn't! After a couple of days of sweltering (no exaggeration), I contacted Jon again and he said we needed to actually turn it off! Eventually this did work and it cooled down. Towards the end of our stay I wanted it back on again but couldn't get it to come on! The taps are all set back to front so if you want hot water, turn it towards blue. The pressure in the rainforest shower heads isn't the best. My daughter couldn't get the shampoo out of her hair so had to use the handheld one. Also neither shower has any shelving meaning all your toiletries have to be kept on the floor. Annoying for a woman as awe tend to have a few bits when showering! A lamp would be nice touch in the lounge area as the overhead lights are quite bright. There's not enough room round the whole of the pool table to take shots without hitting the wall. The WiFi buffered every day, sometimes more so than others. There didn't seem to be a router in the property so I'm wondering whether there is just one for all 3 that the owners let out? When the two beds are zipped together to form a double, you can really feel the zip down the middle. A mattress topper would be good. Also be careful of using the field opposite that is recommended for walking your dog. It is frequented by cows with no warning so keep your eyes peeled. I do have to say that the property was superbly clean.

We had a fantastic week at Number7, the weather was very kind to us so we were able to make full use of the hot tub which was great at the end of a days walking and exploring.

The cottage is lovely and bright and has everything you need to prepare a meal, the bed very comfortable. We had our cocker spaniel with us and found the cottage completely dog safe and dog friendly. We met the owner and had a nice chat, very friendly and helpful. We look forward to a return visit. Tim & Jackie

Lovely house and surrounding area to spend a week to visit Wells, Cheddar, Bristol, Weston super mare etc.

Very quiet and peaceful place to stay and relax,we had a great time. P.S could do with a toaster.

7. The property is amazing and comfortably accommodated 3 adults, one teenager and a four legged friend for a few nights. The pool table and hot tub were a great hit and the fire pit and bbq would be lovely to use in the nicer weather. Sarah was great to communicate with and nothing was too much trouble. We would love to come back someday to explore the area more

The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The pool.table, jacuzzi, BBQ and fire pit were great additions! Loved the quirkiness of the decor and property design! Thanks to the hosts for a wonderful weekend.

The location of the property is ideal - lovely walks around the Chew valley and not far to explore the many other delights of this part of the country. The property has been well designed to have everything needed for a holiday. We loved the addition of the hot tub - perfect to wind down after a day of exploring. We really appreciated the hospitality of the hosts/owners.

Amazing to be the first guests at this beautiful property and we hugely enjoyed our stay.

Our hosts were so friendly, very accommodating and keen to get teething issues resolved quickly which was hugely appreciated. We would love to stay again in the future.
