a fantastic place in a great location and easy to find.

owners were helpful, friendly and a warm welcome when we arrived even from the dog. loved the homemade scones,butter,cream and jam and the fact there was milk,tea and coffee waiting. Great location for visitng various places like Paignton, teignmouth, Newton Abbott and some great beaches even managed to find sea glass. beds were lovely and comfortable

They were amazing, helping us with everything from a TV glitch to enabling us to enjoy the wonderful eclipse. The cottage ranks with one of the very best we’ve stayed in and we have stayed in many over the years. Completely spotless, cool, spacious and very comfortable. They really do have a secure garden for your dog to relax in. Lovely walks around and great antique browsing in near by Ashburton. Wonderful place to stay with everything that you need to make it a great holiday.

The house is very well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Lovely terrace to sit outside and beautiful surroundings to enjoy the nature.

Little orchard is fantastic and beautifully kept Gill is a wonderful host leaving little treats on arrival it’s in a wonderful location and a great base for visiting the area this was our third visit so would definitely recommend it.

Gill and Gerald are excellent hosts and carried out a repair on a broken door handle the same morning. The property is spotless, the gardens and views great. I particularly liked watching all the birds on the feeders outside the bedroom french doors. Most of the reviews in the visitors book refer to attention to detail in the cottage and we completely agree. We are already planning a return trip.

Little Orchard is an absolute gem.

It is incredibly clean and comfortable and extraordinarily well equipped. Much thought has clearly been given to guest comfort. Gerald and Gill are on hand if needed, although they weren’t, as is Flynn, the extremely well behaved and friendly dog. The location is idyllic and the views are lovely. The rural feel notwithstanding, it is really easy to access the A38, which was very handy as we were over from Canada visiting family in various parts of South Devon. The weather and family commitments unfortunately precluded taking much advantage of the lovely walks and the perfect suntrap on the upper patio, but we did manage a walk up to the edge of Dartmoor on the Dartmoor Way, and enjoyed a few sunny mornings watching the sheep at the edge of the garden, listening to the sound of horses clip clopping to and from the nearby stables. Honestly, it would be difficult to find fault with anything, and our three week stay was really enjoyable. We would love the opportunity to stay at Little Orchard again on our next visit “home”, should it be available.

Great location. A perfect stay i a very confortable cottage for the 4 of us and our dog. Has a very well equipped kitchen for family meals, a hose to clean the dog in the garden, cosy fire and beautiful garden. We couldn't ask for more. Gill and Gerald, the owners live on the farm next to the cottage and can be very handy for recommendations. We had a wonderful stay.

An amazing property situated in a beautiful location with stunning views of the countryside.

The cottage was thoughtfully equipped with everything you would need...the attention to detail is a credit to the hosts. It was cozy, comfortable and the outside space amazing especially the terrace off the bedroom. Can imagine a sun trap in the summer and the enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. The hosts were incredible and even decorated the cottage for Christmas. Overall an absolutely wonderful experience. We hope to return to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space.

Beautiful property, well maintained, home from home.

Perfect for a relaxing week away and so peaceful. The extra little touches like the welcome cakes were a real treat. The owners are next door and on hand if you need anything otherwise you are left alone to enjoy your break. The log burner was lovely. We had a wonderful week and will definitely be going back

The whole place was immaculate and well equipped for our stay, we enjoyed sitting out on the lovely patio area listening to the birds in the morning. The garden area was completely secure and enclosed for our dog which was great. We will definitely stay here again!

Very comfortable and welcoming, with every detail carefully considered and executed to a high standard by the owners. A perfect setting for those looking for a home from home to maximize their vacation relaxation.

The owners could not have done more to make the property welcoming and comfortable for us and our dog.

Everything was perfect. The garden was secure for our dog and we didn't have to worry about him getting out. Everything that we needed was there, we couldn't fault it at all. Plus the views were spectacular!!

Absolutely lovely cottage that is well laid out, perfect for our needs.

Thank you so much for the cakes that greeted us upon arrival. The kitchen was well stocked and the handy guides in the folder were very helpful too! Very clean, very tidy, well laid out, and all the usual amenities were high quality: Shower nice and warm with good water pressure, top and bottom ovens, both bedrooms have a TV and the beds are wonderfully comfortable! The patio adjoining the ensuite bedroom is perfect for stargazing. The only downside was the slow WIFI and minimal 4G connection, but due to rural location this was expected. TV works and it gives chance to socialise instead of being on a phone! If you are thinking about booking Little Orchard, DO it! You will not regret it! Stunning location, cottage very calming, perfect for a group of friends or family on holiday on the moors. A lovely retreat after a day of walking!

The property was fantastic!

Very clean and comfortable with lots of extras to help make our stay with toddler and dog very nice. Couldn’t have asked for a quieter place. Kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking equipment we needed, the garden was perfect to keep the little ones in! Great to meet Flynn the dog and the local cows and wildlife, who can come right upto the garden fence if you tempt them.

Lovely property, one of the best we have stayed in.

Perfect layout for our family of 4 and the enclosed garden was perfect for our kids and the dog! Well equipped and had everything we needed. Great location to explore South Devon with Dartmoor just round the corner. The little touches like the scones and dog treats were much appreciated.

Lovely attention to detail and a great stay

This is the first cottage we've booked that had everything as described in the advert.

The pictures are recent, the facilities are 5 star and every comfort has been catered for. On top of all this the hosts are amazing. Always ready to answer a question and give very knowledgeable advice about the local area. Even their animals are friendly and welcoming. We had a fantastic relaxing week and we were sad to leave.

This is such a beautifully kept and well equipped cottage.

Gill the host was fantastic. We had a lovely home made cake, local eggs and milk when we got into the cottage. We were even provided with enough logs for two nights with was a really bonus and not a usual occurrence when we stay away. We spent the weekend hiking and the location was just perfect as it’s located on the edge of Dartmoor. We like to cook in the evenings post hike and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to make a big post hike roast. The bedrooms are beautifully comfortable with the master having access onto a huge patio that leads down to the main garden and overlooks the countryside. The garden is completely secure and my dog Zipp loved roaming around with no worries about him getting out. The cottage was pristinely clean throughout. Highly recommended!!! Thank you Gill! We’ll be back again.

Perfect for our stay over Christmas and New Year.

Extremely comfortable and very well equipped, to the extent we were easily able to cook Christmas dinner. Lovely owners who were extremely welcoming with homemade mince pies and cream, a Christmas hamper and the cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas for us. This was very much appreciated. Cottage sits in a perfect area for all parts of South and Central Devon, Dartmoor and Ashburton / Buckfastleigh, both of which are lovely with several great restaurants. We walked up Haytor on Christmas morning to be greeted by the ponies. And what amazing views - just 5 mins drive from the cottage takes you onto Dartmoor and all the walks.

Our second visit to Liitle Orchard and it did not disappoint.

We had a fantastic stay at Orchard Cottage!

From the moment we arrived, the host greeted us warmly and shared helpful tips about the area. The cottage itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed. Our 2-year-old especially loved the secret corridor hidden in the wardrobe—it was such a delightful surprise! The location was ideal, with so many wonderful activities nearby. We can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again!

Friendly, lovely and helpful owners, gorgeous accommodation, spotless, excellent location for exploring south Devon with the edge of Dartmoor in sight and a very short drive away. The owners attention to detail is wonderful and so many thoughtful touches made us feel very welcome e.g. milk in the fridge, cakes, toiletries, holiday dog tag and welcome treats, fire assembled ready for lighting, cot assembled, baby monitor provided and detailed instructions for everything in the welcome pack. Couldn’t recommend staying here enough. Comfy beds and rooms, we had a wonderful restful break, thank you both.

Cottage was perfect- clean, comfortable and everything needed was provided.

The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch as was the milk in the fridge and the fresh eggs. The hosts were ideal - present when needed but not in your face - their working farm is next to the cottage and we got to meet their super dogs (a similar breed to ours). Location was great - a short walk across fields and by the river to Ashburton and within a short drive to lots of dog-friendly pubs and good walking spots. PERFECT!!

It’s no exaggeration to say it’s the best cottage we have ever stayed in. There is everything you could need and more - the extra touches are a lovely bonus. The garden is particularly great - perfectly designed for both humans and little dogs. The hosts are lovely and Flynn the farm dog is the sweetest, loveliest dog ever! I would recommend Little Orchard to anyone.

A truly superb holiday experience.

The owners of Little Orchard have created the finest holiday property. Everything is first class from the cleanliness to the luxury provided in the lounge and bedrooms. A lot of thought and effort has gone into this facility. Situated on a working farm, the property benefits from extensive lawn and patio which provide private areas for relaxation. Make no mistake, this property is extremely good value for money.

This property and stay completely exceeded expectations.

From arrival we were wowed not only by how beautifully the cottage is presented, but the thoughtful touches; a platter of delicious sweet treats, fresh eggs and milk for a hot drink on arrival. This immediately got the holiday off to a good start. Our hosts were extremely helpful and even let our children help with the farm animals - a real highlight. The cottage is perfectly positioned to explore the moors and visit the beach. The sofa and beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. Loved every moment.

We had a lovely stay in an excellent property.

It had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. Unfortunately weather prevented much use of the lovely enclosed garden. The welcome treats were most welcome. Hosts were available if needed and were very warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this property and would happily book again if visiting the area.

Had a wonderful Christmas at Little Orchard.

Couldn't ask for better accommodation or facilities. Lots of little extra touches including delicious homemade mince pies and chocolate cake. Gill and Gerald were perfect hosts, really helpful. The enclosed garden was great for our smallish dog - usually he finds at least one gap! Weather was unfortunately not great but that just means we have to come back to experience the wider area. We can't wait. Thanks again to our hosts for a great holiday.

A beautiful property to take time walking in and around Dartmoor and Torbay area.

Our family (2 adults, 2 teenage daughters and a labrador) stayed at Little Orchard for a week during Oct Half Term and could not have been happier.

The property was clean, well-equipped and perfect for our needs. The weather was wet and windy (as expected for this time of year) so the log burner was great for warming up after soggy walks on the moors. Although the heating kept the place nice and cosy anyway. Although Little Orchard is slightly off the beaten track we still found the location ideal for exploring Dartmoor, the coast and local towns. Highly Recommended!

The property's facilities are second to none, the furnishings are very tastefully done. The hosts, Gill and Gerald are a lovely couple and will do everything possible to make your stay welcoming and enjoyable. You are only 2 miles from Dartmoor and 15 miles from Torbay.

This is the best equipped and cleanest property we have ever stayed in and the only one to provide hand towels in the kitchen. Well done, Gill. In a quiet farmland region, a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. A lovely area to explore with lots to do and great scenery to enjoy.

We spent two very special weeks at Little Orchard.

The accommodation was faultless and Gill and Gerald had thought of everything you and your dog may need. The location was fabulous and we loved hearing and observing life on the farm. It was without doubt the best holiday let we have stayed in and we would love to return in the future.

Probably the best property we have stayed in.

Clean and comfortable. Best bed ever ! Soft towels and carpets, comfy sofa, well equipped. Great power shower. Wonderful garden which is completely secure even for a small dog. Split level is fabulous and it's so nice to be able to open the bedroom patio doors onto the top terrace.The property is next door to the owners' but is private and you don't feel intruded upon. It's also surprisingly quiet to say you're on a working farm.Their dogs may visit but that was never an issue. If you have a dog there's every reason to stay here. You are straight out onto a lovely walk. This property is a cut above with lots of nice touches. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend these hosts and this gorgeous property.

Little Orchard is the most well equipped and tastefully presented cottage we have stayed in.

It lies in lovely valley with views towards Dartmoor with no light pollution or traffic noise. A place to relax and recharge mind, body and soul. Gerald and Gill are delightful and helpful and a lovely touch was a dog tag which read 'on holiday' with tel. no. for Wink's collar in case he got lost. Many thanks. We will visit again. We can not rate this property enough.

Set in a beautiful picturesque location, that is so peaceful and quiet you can only hear the local farm animals. We were greeted on arrival by the owner Gill and her two gorgeous farm dogs, when we entered the cottage we were blown away by how beautiful it was inside, we were left scones, eggs, tea and coffee and even some treats for our own dog Chester. It has everything and more in my eyes. Open plan downstairs, including kitchen, dining and sitting room, upstairs two beautifully decorated rooms, each with their own bathroom. Then off the main bedroom, doors lead out to a patio area with gorgeous views. You can access the lower garden via here and also from the kitchen and there are some stairs that lead down to the front of the property too. It is a perfect base to then venture out and explore more of Devon, but you can then come back and relax in tranquility. My mum, myself and Chester had a wonderful stay xx

Thank you for a great break away, the property is absolutely lovely and very well furnished.

Great location too as it is within reasonable distance from many popular places around the south west.

How very nice of Gill the owner, to come to meet us as we got a bit lost and we were delighted to be told that we were the first guests to christen this most lovely cottage.

A lot of thought and attention to detail went into the creation of this cottage and it has been tastefully finished, with old world charm and all mod cons. The scones and clotted cream were a delicious treat and also Bruno the dog was made to feel welcome with his little treats too. Gill and hubby were working hard on the farm but had time to check on us and made us feel very welcome. A beautiful setting and next to the amazing Dartmoor National Park, and lots of lovely little villages to visit in this most beautiful part of the world. A splendid time was had and we hope to return soon.
