The property

Pillhead Cart Linhay is a light and airy single-storey cottage set within a valley on a 130-acre working sheep farm, just two miles from Bideford and within easy reach of the North Devon coastline, making it a great choice for families.

One of three thoughtfully converted barns, the property benefits from shared grounds along with access to a seasonal outdoor swimming pool.

A couple of steps lead into the bright sitting room, where you can relax in front of the TV, gather around the dining table, or step directly out into the garden.

The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing meals, ideal for enjoying local produce after a day exploring the surrounding area.

Both bedrooms are spacious and filled with natural light, offering a pleasant place to rest, while a family bathroom serves the property.

Outside, guests can make the most of the shared, heated outdoor pool, complete with a paddling area suitable for children, before unwinding on the sun terrace or spending time in the communal garden.

To the side of the cottage, an enclosed garden provides space for outdoor dining whilst enjoying views across the valley.

The wider farmland offers room to roam, and nearby routes such as the Tarka Trail are ideal for walking and cycling.

The coast is within easy reach, with Westward Ho! providing a sandy beach, while Saunton and Woolacombe offer additional spots popular for water activities.

The nearby town of Bideford also offers shops, eateries, and local attractions, along with boat trips to Lundy Island.

Pillhead Farm

This pretty group of three cottages, all but one with its own private sunny garden - the perfect spot to enjoy an alfresco supper or a lazy breakfast whilst you plan your day, is in rural North Devon at Pillhead Farm, a working sheep farm. The cottages have been furnished to a very good standard providing the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of life and the ideal location to make some glorious holiday memories. The beach is just three miles away, whilst the shop and restaurant are located within 1 mile; these properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 12 guests. Outside you will discover 130-acres of extensive, natural grounds and a fabulous heated swimming pool and a small separate pool designed for the toddlers all set around a sunny terrace with loungers. The pretty beach at Instow is just 3 miles away, or the wide golden sandy beach of Westward Ho! which is popular with surfers is 4 miles away. Walkers can join the coastal path, or alternatively, cycle or walk the famous Tarka Trail which passes close by. The delightful port town of Bideford has a good selection of town amenities and a weekly market. Garden lovers will appreciate the nearby RHS Rosemoor and Docton Mill. There really is something for all the family to explore, including The Ultimate Adventure Centre, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks, not to be missed. Take a boat trip to the nature reserve at Lundy Island, or uncover many of the fishing villages, including nearby Clovelly, and Hartland.

For the more active, several major surfing beaches, golf courses, theme parks and other attractions are nearby and the South West coast path passes close by on its way into Cornwall. The beautiful cliff-top fishing village of Clovelly is half an hour by road, and the delights of Exmoor and Dartmoor can be reached in under an hour. Surf the waves, stroll through pretty villages, wander along the Tarka Trail, visit a famous garden or have some fun at one of the local theme or farm parks – it’s all on the doorstep.
