Host was very pleasant and helpful.

Thanks for goodies much appreciated and sorting out our little mistake. Found Fern cabin very clean well laid out and temperature very cool home from home. Surroundings very peaceful (rabbits pheasants squirrels around) and a good base to visit north Devon.

Fern was bigger than we thougt it would be.

Although a one-room cottage, there was plenty of space to move around and enough storage and cupboards to put away your clothes and groceries. Good layout. Very clean. The location is stunning. So quiet, with wildlife on your doorstep. We loved watching the squirrels, rabbits, pheasants and birds. Thank you Gilly for helping us with the check-in on arrivel.

This is the second time we have stayed in one of these lodges so we knew what to expect.

We were not disappointed! The three Lodges are set off the driveway to the owner's property and guests have the use of one side of their beautiful garden. The Lodges overlook fields with cattle grazing in them. The garden has lots of very tall pine trees, providing shade if you need it. It is just the place to unwind. It was so peaceful and calm. Whilst there, we watched Tree Creepers running up and down the tree just outside our lodge. There were squirrels and pheasants and lots of other birds in the garden too. The Lodge was comfortable and well equipped and had blinds and curtains for added privacy. It was lovely to meet another couple staying in the neighbouring Lodge, who were also enjoying the restful tranquility of the garden. Ideally situated to visit all local beaches and market towns, with pubs, restaurants, friendly churches and artisan shops. What more could you ask for! Thank you to our hosts and to Sykes!

The cabin was cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean.

The complimentary eggs, bread,milk and cookies were very welcome. The location was lovely, really quiet, and the birds and squirrels were a pleasure to watch. We would recommend anyone to visit.

Loved the cottage and the views and countryside.

Everything you need is there. Only thing I didn't like was the 1000 yards drive on single track road to the cottage.

Comfortable and accessible for our wheelchair, excellent kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Peaceful countryside, view of meadows from the door. Also enjoyed the bird feeders, saw great spotted woodpecker, nuthatch, coal tits, not to mention pheasants and squirrels.

Perfect little holiday chalet.

Very clean, comfortable and all the necessary equipment to relax and enjoy the surroundings. There was a lovely basket of goodies which was appreciated and contained the basics necessary to start our holiday. We would definitely return and hope to do so in the new year.

We had a lovely time at Fern, the attention to detail was second to none and the host was responsive to our feedback and welcomed comments.

We would highly recommend the location of the lodge as a base for exploring North Devon. We had difficulty find the property and I believe the host has already been in touch regarding amending the directions.

Accommodation is stunning.

Everything you need and with a cute little welcome bundle. Location is beautiful and peaceful.

Lots of lovely extras

We thought the cabin was very very good ,we would recommend it to our friends ,and also where it was .

First impressions the cottage is small, clean and well thought out.

We settled in great and everything was fine until, I began to notice water around the toilet. Frist I thought the water was coming from the shower but as it began to rain more the water got more, there was like a bucket of water in the bathroom, water behind the bed and side of the wall where u would park. Also on my last night I when to pack the dishes away and the cupboard door felt off and almost took my eyes out. I tried to look for a number or email to make a report there was none. When u rent these room you get no support from staff very bad experience over all.

Fern was well located for our purposes; visiting friends and visiting Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Clovelly, Lynmouth & Lynton, Appledore, Bideford and Bude.

With the weather in November being mostly wet and windy it was lovely to return to a warm and cosy studio which had all the amenities to be self-sufficient. It was also good value for money.

The cottage was warm, cosy, clean and bright in a quiet rural location.

A relaxing and welcome break for us during moving home. Gilly very approachable and helpful when needed. Thank you Gilly and Tony. Rosemary and David

We found the cottage hard to locate and believe a further sign under Whitesacks ie leading to Fern and Jasmine Cottage would have been useful.

The TV was not a good enough reception to use. Although it has a working kitchen there are no tables or trays to eat from. We were booked in for 9 days and during that time only 1 bath towel and hand towel were available to us. Also a wall clock would be nice.

We had a lovely week In beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and the welcome pack of milk, butter, eggs, essentials and treats was thoughtful and much appreciated after a long journey. Looking forward to returning in the Spring.

This was just what I wanted.

A lovely bolthole to get some writing done. It was peaceful and very beautifully appointed. Fabulous welcome basket of scones, crisps, bread, eggs, and milk! Only thing missing is a wee table to eat at. Also Sykes instructions were incorrect sending you to a different set of Bydown cottages. This needs o be sorted with Sykes and perhaps with additional signage at the property.
