Little Waycroft

We had a lovely greeting from Ali the owner and Stanley the very friendly dog.

Much appreciated the milk left in fridge and cream tea on arrival. Lovely accommodation. Lots of room. Very comfy bed. Everything needed for preparing meals. Jigsaws, games and books if needed as well as information leaflets. Had a lovely meal at the Royal Oak in Exminster about 15 minutes away. Handy having Sainsbury’s down the road for essentials. Enjoyed our week exploring the area and would love to return in the future. Thanks again Ali, Jamie and Stanley

Lovely rural cottage with gorgeous views.

Well equipped and comfy. Bonus having a bathroom and separate ensuite. Kitchen has everything you need. Sainsbury's approx 2 mile away. Dawlish warren great for parking and the trains to discover the towns on the coast.

Absolutely lovely cottage lots of space clean and comfortable with great facilities, the environment is very peaceful and tranquil.

The views from all aspects of the cottage are stunning, the birdlife and the roaming rabbits helped to enhance the country feel. Our hosts were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Just a noisy water system first thing in the morning, Otherwise just perfect. Whatever Sat Nav says, do not turn left into Port Road coming out of the cottage the Lanes get very narrow with limited passing places. Fabulous cottage.

Excellent accommodation - for 2 people very spacious and well-equipped.

The separate bathroom and shower room was great. Finding the 2-seater sofa to be a recliner was a real bonus!

Little Waycroft is a true hidden Gem, it is very spacious and very clean, everything you could need is provided.

I read one review saying the windows were old, The property now has new windows throughout. Ali and Jamie were excellent hosts, the TV picture went off and Jamie went straight out and replaced it with a new one. The property is in a very quiet rural setting with lovely view, but only minutes from the centre of Dawlish. This is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. And as everyone comments a lovely welcome pack of Flowers milk and cream teas.

Little Waycroft is a little paradise!

We could have spent all week just staring at the Devon countryside from the patio decking. Instead we used it as an excellent base to explore the area which has so much to offer, from beaches and castles to stunning views and restaurants. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, and we’ll be back.

Cottage was spacious, clean and set in an ideal position for us.

A good central base to visit lots of places. Supermarket only a 5 minute drive away. The owners of the cottage were very nice, not interfering with our visit at all but available and helpful if needed. The cottage was maintained to a very high standard.

A wonderfully large,exceptionally clean and comfortable accommodation ,with everything you could possibly need to have a relaxing stay.

The owners were very welcoming, but not intrusive at all and the cream tea they provided was delicious. Ideally situated for exploring different places, and being able to have a bath after all the walking was a huge bonus. We would definitely recommend here.

Lovely spacious 1 bedroom villa with lovely views from the terrace. We found it clean and beautifully designed for maximum comfort. Lots of extras in the kitchen. Lovely owners who were at hand if needed for local knowledge. Its location meant we could use the trains to explore this beautiful part of Devon.

A beautiful, immaculate cottage.

The property was very clean and extensively equiped, making things very comfortable and wanting for nothing. One big plus was having a separate entrance hall where we could get our wet clothes/dirty boots off before entering the main rooms, especially welcome as the weather was poor. R & A Basingstoke

We had a comfortable week.

The property is in a convenient position for shopping and there are plenty of places to visit within a short drive. We can recommend the Otter garden centre in Bishopsteignton for plants and a good restaurant.

The rear views are superb and you can watch horses, cattle and sheep as well as raptors. One day we had a visit from a grey squirrel. There is just one point to make and given the wonderful rear views the double glazing has started to go milky, which detracts from photographs. The situation of the property means that it is only a few minutes to the railway line and steam train photos. Just the other side of Dawlish is the Smugglers Arms; absolutely superb food!

Beautiful location in a rural setting that is close to main road and Sainsburys supermarket. Off road parking. Very well equipped and comfortable.

Amazing cottage - definitely worth a second visit.

Cream tea was appreciated, as mentioned by pretty much everyone else who stays here!

More importantly, the cottage is as spacious as the pictures imply with tons of room for the two of us. Equipment level is very good with 4 of everything. Most importantly, we wanted to get away from it all for a week, and that is exactly what we achieved. Came away more refreshed than we have from any other week away!

Little Waycroft is a clean, well equipped and comfortable property commanding pleasant views from the lounge/deck.

It is ideally placed for access to bus, train services and local footpaths. We enjoyed a very pleasant stay.

We’ve just had a week at Little Waycroft and it’s our second visit, it’s a well appointed holiday cottage, spacious, well equipped and cosy, perfect for two, I can honestly say it’s the best bed I’ve ever slept on in holiday accommodation, two bathrooms are a boon.

The location is perfect and the veranda is lovely with extensive views. On a cautious note, be careful turning out of the drive, it’s a blind bend on a narrow lane, a convex mirror on the opposite side would be handy. We’ve already booked again for next June.

First we would like to thank Jamie and alli for well presented little waycroft cream tea and a few provisions in fridge ,thank you,this is our 3rd visit it’s in a very interesting part of the country ,dawlish station close by off peak tickets for 2 £11-14 at that price Exeter exmouth and as far as Paignton beats parking and fuel dawlish and the black swans ice cream with cream there are many beaches steam trains Paignton and .

buckfastliegh there is a very good hotel for meals mount pleasent in dawlish warren with a little research there’s something for e,very one we go around June pat&fred oxfordshire

The cottage was amazing.

It was immaculate very spacious and well equipped.On arrival there were fresh flowers and a lovely cream tea after a long journey it was very welcome. Definately will be going back.

Great location with lovely country views at the rear of the property.

Saw a lot of wildlife. Beautiful bird songs to, so relaxing. Was so enjoyable. Just what we needed. We were made most welcome.Cream tea upon arrival was a surprise. So was a pint of milk and some teabags etc. So thoughtful.

This was our second visit to Little Waycroft and once again it didn't disappoint.

The accommodation is very spacious and extremely comfortable. Everything you would need is provided, and the range of white goods, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine is excellent. The south facing balcony/patio makes an ideal place to relax and enjoy the far reaching views across beautiful open countryside. The owners, Ali and Jamie are very friendly and helpful. I would happily return to Little Waycroft if we visit this part of Devon again.

The accomodation had everything you needed for a self catering holiday, very spacious, clean and with amazing views of the countryside. Local pubs which serve very good food and a Sainsbury's just down the road for food and petrol. A great location for exploring Devon, Dorset and Cornwall. It's definitely a place we would like to stay again and would highly recommend.

This is our second year ,we did enjoy it so we booked this year the owners are so friendly we had a welcome cream tea in fridge milk and flowers.

the large garden can be enjoyed we saw the owners twice but you can. Phone them ,any queries Sainsbury’s shop /petrol poss a mile away dawlish and trains 1 1/2 mile approx we went to Plymouth, Exeter. By train rest of time used car ,the cottage is very spacious see Sykes pictures very very clean and feels just right I see most people return ,I can only say this truly an exceptional gem so my thanks go to ALI JAMIE EVE from FREDERICK And PATRICIA BRIGHTMORE OXFORD

Really enjoyed this holiday, the place was outstanding and so peaceful, will definitely recommend, although very disappointed with the massive price hikes for 1922 but I suppose profiteering was on the cards because of the pandemic

Little Waycroft exceeded our expectations, the house is spacious with a large on-suite bedroom, plenty of storage, and a very comfortable bed.

The dining area and kitchen were fully equipped with nearly new white goods and a spotless fitted kitchen. The lounge has a very comfortable reclining settee. The whole house had spotless decorations and everything was extremely clean on our arrival. We received a warm welcome by the owner, and the scones with clotted cream and jam were waiting for us in the fridge, great. We would highly recommend this property and we are already planning to book again for some time in 2021.

A lovely little bungalow with superb facilities and a very comfortable bed.

Everything you could need was provided and it was extremely clean and beautifully presented. Very friendly owners who made us feel welcome and were not worried about any queries we had. A good centre for exploring the South Devon coast without being too close! We would definitley visit again.

Cream tea, flowers and milk awaited us on arrival which was most welcome after a long drive. The accommodation was spotless, well equipped and had beautiful views from the veranda.

Well we had high expectations that we would be giving the owner glowing feedback having stayed at Little Waycroft before but on the Sunday evening of the second week of our stay they held a family party and with a sizable 1/4 acre plus of land to the side of the cottage you would think the party would not effect us, how wrong we were it seemed that the side of the cottage was a good place to congregate, a group of 5 young men leaning up against the garage door and us enjoying 3 hours of consent banging against it.

I had too at one point have to ask them to refrain from constantly running/chasing the younger children past my car (the space available where my car was parked was very narrow) of which some apologised and one gave me such a filthy look as if I had no right to challenge. Owner may hopefully look at running this type of party so it doesn't effect the hirer in such away.

The bungalow/ cottage was 10 mins drive 2 mile to Dawlish very /super clean ,very good well equipped in fact it was so good we booked next June 2021, 7 nights we used train except for2days we used the car .

little waycroft is fully true to discription in large grounds lovely surroundings .the port road is a country road but only .7 of a mile so could walk to bus at end of road , this is a don’t miss holiday ,it truly is excellent P&FB oxford

An amazing cottage with all our needs catered for.

We received a very warm welcome including a real Devon cream tea - most unexpected. An ideal spot for our holiday. Beautiful views across the Devon countryside and within easy reach of the main routes to so many different places. We would love to return for another holiday soon.

We arrived to a very warm welcome from the owner and her family.

The accommodation far exceeded our expectations and made for a very restful holiday. Being woken by birdsong every morning was lovely. If we ever plan to return to this area then this is the only place we will stay.

This was quite the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.

For a one bedroom cottage it was exceptionally spacious and comfortable. The area of Devon in which we stayed was very good for places of interest to visit. I am sure we will return one day.

Little Waycroft is one of the best properties I have ever stayed in.

Certainly as somewhere for two people it is the most spacious. It is equipped with everything you would need for a week or much longer. It's situation, with views from the rear balcony over open countryside, is wonderful. The owners, Ali and Jamie, are very welcoming and friendly. There is nothing bad I could say about this property and if I visit this part of Devon in the future Little Waycroft will be my number one place to stay.

Great location. Train stations handy at Starcross and Dawlish. A number of good places to eat in the evenings and a Supermarket approx 2 miles away to get food if you want to eat in. Perfect!

Kitchen has been recently renewed following a water leak, and is looking really nice. Friendly family hostsand a lovely cream tea waiting for us in the fridge. Thoroughly recommended.

the settee was not comfy.

a manual recliner is not good for me.apart from that all was okay. a long walk to the main rd if didn't want to drive.A very nice couple who own the house and a very big thank you to ali and jamie.

This is the best cottage we have stayed in.

a great welcome on arrival from Ali, Jamie,Eve and Stanley.the cottage is wonderful, Very clean and modern with a fully equipped kitchen with all new appliances.It is set in a lovely big garden with fantastic views from your own private terrace,the bedroom is very large with en suite bathroom.The bed is to die for King size with deep memory foam topper so comfortable just like being at home great nights sleep.There is also a shower room with toilet and hand basin.The cream tea on arrival was very welcome,many thanks for a fantastic stay.see you next year,already booked.From Dave and Irene.

As soon as you walk through the door of this cottage your breath is taken away, from the little welcoming touches of flowers in a vase on the table to scones with clotted cream, jam, tea bags, sugar and a small bottle of milk.

The high standard of cleanliness, the fantastic views from the front room overlooking fields, the friendliness and very knowledgeable owners, made our stay of two weeks a real pleasurable experience.
