Description

Situated on the outskirts of Combe Martin centre, Beech Cottage is a beautiful, single-storey cottage surrounded by Devon's stunning countryside.

Sleeping two guests with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the views, the cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway for two.

Beech Cottage has classic stone walls and traditional touches, whilst the interior has been tastefully renovated.

After a day exploring the local area, the sitting room is a lovely spot with wooden beams, a sofa and armchair to relax with a movie on the large TV, before rustling up dinner in the kitchen/diner; here you will find all the amenities needed, plus a quaint table for two next to a window, providing picturesque views over breakfast even on a rainy day.

Guests have access to the nearby garage where there is a freezer, washing machine and extra storage space.

To the left of the kitchen, you will find a charming double bedroom to unpack your belongings and make yourself at home, where there is also a newly renovated bathroom with a large shower, vanity unit and heated towel rail.

Beech Cottage has a spacious garden with lawn and patio areas looking out onto open countryside, where you can sit at the outdoor seating with a refreshing glass of wine in the evening sun.

Combe Martin has a selection of pubs, restaurants and cafés to try and sights to see, such as the popular Wild Pear Beach.

Ilfracombe is a lovely town to the north west, which is popular for sport enthusiasts, where you can cycle the Tarka Trail, or walk the paths through the countryside, as well as the Ilfracombe Museum and Aquarium.

Barnstaple is a pretty, ancient market town to the south, offering walking trails to take in the 17th century architecture, with the history of the area illustrated in the Barnstaple museum.

Heading further west takes you to Croyde; visit National Trust Baggy Point, an easy access walk, or head to the beach for surfing and relaxing, followed by a well-earned lunch in one of Croyde's pubs.

Beech Cottage is a wonderful dwelling ideally located for discovering North Devon's outstanding coast.

Our second stay.

The cottage is lovely, clean and very peaceful. The gardens, surroundings and location are all excellent. This time we did have some issues with the hot water and found the mattress on one side of the bed to be dipped and very uncomfortable. Despite this we did enjoy our holiday in North Devon.

Had a wonderful stay at Beech Cottage, for 2 people and a dog to explore the surrounding area it was perfect.

A car is needed as it is difficult to walk from the cottage but within 20-30 minutes either side you are able to explore much of what beautiful North Devon has to offer. The log burner was a bonus as the October weather changed and we had everything we needed. The enclosed large garden for the dog was ideal. Would definitely return.

The property is not the easiest to find and is very remote but in beautiful surroundings.

Ideal if you want to get away from the busyness of life. We had a problem with a missing key, but contacted the owner by email and it was soon sorted.
