Description

This contemporary ground-floor apartment with level access nestles in the village of Knowle on the edge of the picturesque town of Budleigh Salterton in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Farriers Retreat is a romantic escape for two, appointed with all the mod cons required for a fantastic holiday to East Devon's Jurassic Coast.

Roadside parking greets you on arrival.

The private entrance to the apartment opens into a space where two bicycles or a mobility scooter can be securely stored.

On entering the apartment you will discover the contemporary kitchen with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave and fridge with freezer section.

The kitchen has a marble floor and an orangery style glass roof which fills the room with natural light.

Enjoy a romantic dinner before moving through to the bedroom, hosting a king-size bed and an adjacent sitting area with leather sofa and TV.

Start the morning with a refreshing shower before opening the double french doors onto the secluded lawned garden.

Rest a while on the picnic bench before enjoying a leisurely lunch in the sunshine whilst you watch the horses in the adjacent paddock.

A variety of birds visit the garden including woodpeckers and pheasants.

If you fancy a tasty meal out, take a short stroll to the town of Budleigh Salterton where you will find a number of restaurants and pubs to cater for all tastes.

The local village pub, The Dog and Donkey, is less than 100 metres away and is a Free House with a cosy and friendly atmosphere.

The High Street has a range of food shops where you can find all the essentials for your self catering stay.

A short walk along the lane from the apartment is the Lily Farm Vineyard where you can book a tour with wine tasting and buy a bottle or two of very local wine.

Budleigh Salterton is known for its natural beauty, where you can relax on the pebbled beach and take in the breath-taking panorama of the distant cliffs, which range from red sandstone to white chalk.

A short drive or bus ride takes you to the large coastal town of Exmouth, with its long sandy beach and all the facilities that you are likely to need to help you make the most of your stay.

The train ride from Exmouth into Topsham and on to Exeter offers wonderful scenery along the River Exe.

The local area boasts plenty of opportunity for dog walking with quiet country lanes and common heathland on the doorstep.

Relaxing walks along the River Otter are a short distance away where you may be lucky enough to spot a kingfisher or beaver - the perfect escape for dog and nature lovers.

For a change of scenery, the city of Exeter is easily accessible and offers a vibrant history with underground passages, a magnificent cathedral, imposing Roman wall and a beautiful quayside.

Slightly further away is the rugged beauty of the historic Dartmoor National Park, a haven for walkers, nature lovers, fishermen and photographers.

However you choose to spend your time, a stay at Farriers Retreat promises to be a memorable one with something for everyone to enjoy

Ideal location for exploring the south Devon coast.

Peaceful and comfortable accommodation, which is well equipped. The hosts are friendly and helpful, as is Alfie the dog. Definitely recommend the farriers retreat and hopefully will be visiting again.
