Exe View is very cosy, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything one needs for a comfortable holiday.

The view from the balcony is beautiful. Sue and Andy are excellent hosts and very accommodating as we had a last minute/delayed start due to my wife being taken ill on the morning we were due to arrive at Exe View. We will certainly consider a return visit.

Brilliant stay in Devon.

Sue made us very welcome when we arrived and showed us round the annex. Although they live in the main part of the house we were left alone but we're told if we needed anything to let her know. The stay was made special by all the attention to detail.

Exe View was warm and welcoming from the start, from the owners greeting us to all the beautiful treats that waited for us inside.

There was plenty of parking for our van. The property was well laid out and spotless through with nice quality bedding and towels. The ensuite was a good size and the shower spacious, plenty of hot water throughout our stay. The kitchen had everything you needed at your fingertips from an air fryer to a Nespresso coffee machine … even a bowl of coffee pods. This attention to detail carried on throughout Exe View, there were binoculars, glass wipes, outdoor seat cushions, pegs, iron … the best equipped Sykes property we have stayed in … even when I sat down and thought a blanket would be nice there were two next to me. Exe View is very well located, a short walk into Dawlish town centre and the view from the living room and balcony is just stunning. We are already planning our visit there next year.

As a person of 81 and my wife 76, we found the stairs in the property very steep, I nearly had a fall in the lower steps one evening going down to the bedroom.

Hence we came away Monday at 6pm.. The property other than that we very good. sorry we won't be revisiting.

Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved the view and the peace and quiet. Great location, short walk to the station allowing easy access to Exeter, Torquay, Paignton etc. The owners added some lovely touches to make the property homely and cosy.

Comfortable and well equipped with everything you need. The treats were a nice surprise and most welcome. Location and views are great and carol and I would like to let you known we had a wonderful week. We would recommend this property to all and look forward to coming back.

Flat is superb, well placed for the town centre. Excellent all round.

Ex view was a superb accommodation for a couple fishing to explore the South Devon area.

It is within walking distance of shops and the railway station at Dawlish. The accommodation was very well maintained and very clean with all the amienties necessary to be independent of the owners who live in the adjacent part of the building. We were celebration out 50th wedding anniversary and were surprised to be greeted by Sue and Andy on arrival and overwhelmed by the balloon and cream scones with prosecco. The beds were very comfortable with a well provided sitting room and excellent WiFi provision throughout the property. Definitely recommend the venue for couples with its quiet location and very homely feeling.

Brilliant stay to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Wonderful accomodation, and excellent hosts.

The hosts, Sue and Andy were very welcoming and friendly, but also aware of giving us our own space.

They provided a lovely welcome pack and there was everything we needed to make it feel like a real home from home. The view from the balcony was stunning, and it was an ideal base for exploring the area. We had a lovely week and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

A beautiful 'upside down' holiday home which was immaculate and clean and had everything you need for a relaxing holiday.

A very clean bright and well equipped flat, with beautiful views and in easy access of town, busses and trains.

Dawlish is however very hilly and might not be suitable for people who are disabled or unfit. The property is on two levels with stairs. We were welcomed with a cream tea, bubbly waiting in the fridge , and flowers in the lounge. A really nice touch.

Great stay!

Owners Sue & Andy were really friendly & helpful. Accommodation was excellent & well equipped & great place to explore whether locally (short cut to town) or farther afield. Weather was great too. We've been to 3 4plus* Sykes places these last 6 months & this was the best!

Before arriving I contacted Sue & was filled with the details of how to let ourselves in as she would not be around to meet us.

Everything was fine in gaining access & the property was spotlessly clean. There was a welcome tray in the kitchen & a bottle of Proseco in the fridge. Wow! The scones, jam & cream were lovely. We could not have asked for more. On our departure day we decided to leave early because of Friday traffic & were not able to say personally how much we had enjoyed our stay at Exe View & to say thank you for everything. So through yourselves please express our gratitude & thanks, we had a lovely week & weather very kind.

Dawlish is a lovely place plenty of shops and coffee shops. Sue and Andy met us on arrival and showed us around. The accommodation was spotlessly clean. The cream scones with a bottle of Cava and cider went down a treat. Will differently be returning.

A beautifully comfortable base for a holiday.

We are welcomed by the owner when we arrived . There was a cream tea waiting for us and the house was spotlessly clean . The kitchen had absolutely everything you could possibly need. When the weather was wet we were able to stay in and look out over the sea in comfort.

Cannot fault it. It is really like a home from home and I would not hesitate to recommend it. Sue and Andy are friendly, approachable hosts. Used the train more to get around this time. Great to sit back and not use the car

Every thing you would need. Local people friendly, as were the owners. Didn’t need to use the car as the local transport good. The town is pretty with a river running through it.

Stunning view from the balcony and a pretty garden to relax in. Great transport links to explore the rest of the county. Cream tea on arrival supplied by the owners was a lovely touch along with the bottle of Prosecco. This was our second visit and it won’t be our last.

Ideal, quiet location for exploring the local area or venturing to Dartmoor by car. A 5 to 10 minute walk into Dawlish town with excellent train links to Exeter and Torquay.

Every once in a while you find the perfect little Gem, Exe View is that perfect place!

Immaculately clean, comfortable with amazing views from the balcony. The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need for your stay, and I must say, that this is the first place we have stayed at, were you can take anything from any drawer, cupboards or worktop, find it perfectly clean, and use straight away! This is a lovely property, close to all amenities and transportation links.

The owners are very helpful and friendly, the property is fuller equipped with everything needed and extras such as beach chairs, umbrellas have been provided. The cream tea, prosecco and bottled water in bedroom were greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend this property.

We were absolutely delighted with our stay at Exe View.

The owners were very helpful and we cannot recommend them and their property highly enough. However the same cannot be said of Sykes Cottages. We were unable to use the week we originally booked and found Sykes wouldn't refund or change accommodation. We were lucky that the owners and ourselves were able to change the week (the only one available). We found Sykes inflexible and won't use them again. But the accommodation - First Class !!

The accomodation made the holiday.

The only negative is that it should be mentioned on your web site should note that for anyone with walking difficulties the accommodation may not be suitable as it is a steep incline from Dawlish.

Exe view is a very well equipped and clean property close to the beach (10 minutes walk down cliff path) with views from the balcony over the sea.

The owners live next door and were were helpful and friendly, the accommodation is equipped with everything we could possibly need including treats such as fresh flowers and a Devon cream tea on our arrival. Dawlish, a pleasant small town with most essential shops is a 15 minute walk away, Sainsbury’s supermarket is just a short drive situated on the edge of town. We would highly recommend both Exe View, and Dawlish for a relaxed holiday destination.

Wow Wow what a lovely welcome from the owners of this lovely holiday accommodation and it was all that we needed.

They had thought of everything but we were not expecting cream tea awaiting us, wine, milk in the fridge and water and even flowers in the lounge. The accommodation was immaculate and very spacious. We had a wonderful relaxing 4 days there and explored the area on foot so lots of walking too in this most beautiful part of the country

Comfortable, warm accommodation with lovely views and garden.Dawlish hasn't changed much over the years,apart from the parking meters! Once Covid restrictions are gone there is much to enjoy,plenty of interesting walks coastal and inland.Heartily reccomend Exe View.

The cottage is ideally set up for a couple to enjoy the surrounding area of South Devon, the cottage is well furnished and ideally set up.

The accommodation was first class,nice views,and a good location for exploring the area.

From our welcome on arrival until the goodbyes the following week everything about Exe View was excellent.

Fabulous place to stay, really home-from-home.

Very clean and everything provided that you might need for your stay. Friendly owners who are easily approachable. Great view from the living room. Excellent base from which to explore - I recommend Brixham, Teignmouth, Torquay, Exmouth...but other great places too within easy drive. 10/10 for this property. I would come back, but there is a big world out there!!

Lovely relaxing holiday, highly recommended

This cottage was one of the best we have ever stayed in.

Sue and Andy were very welcoming, and when we arrived, a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and a cream tea was a wonderful surprise. The property was spotless, and very comfortable. There was a large screen TV in the lounge and the bedroom. There was also a comfortable sofa, together with a powered recliner. Location of the cottage was excellent, and access to many interesting locations was within easy reach. If only all holiday cottages were as perfect!

Very convenient, as it is a short walk down hill into Dawlish and only a few minutes to the cliff path and the bus stop. Great views from the balcony and from the kitchen window. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Altogether a very good place to stay.

Our stay at Exe View was a truly wonderful experience for us.

It was incredibly comfortable and our hosts had thought of absolutely everything to make our stay memorable. Not only were we welcomed with a cream tea and a bottle of Prosecco but in addition it was the thoughtfulness of the supply of facilities that lifted it out of the ordinary. Everything from binoculars to books to a cosy rug throw in the sitting room. The place was spotlessly clean and the views were unforgettable. We had the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. A superb house to stay in with a great view towards the sea, plenty of information on hand to help decide where to go, Sue and Andy the owners where on hand if we needed anything else.

The holiday cottage was noisier than expected due to the close proximity of the busy main road.

Thus preventing us from sitting on the balcony or in the garden. Otherwise a good central location with great views and walks.

Very well equipped, everything thought about, a home from home. Lovely welcome from friendly hosts. Great location just a short walk into Dawlish. Enjoyed the view of the coast from the upstairs living room. We had some lovely walks along the sea wall to Teignmouth & Dawlish Warren, used the train to go further to Torbay, great value tickets. Easy to leave the car on the drive all week.
