Sawtons Cottage 2

The property was as described.

There were only two of us and it worked well. It would be a bit small for 5 people in my view with a double and bunk bed in the other bedroom. The bathroom could do with a deep clean and a new bath mat. Both of which looked like it has some mould. The bathroom sink plug did not hold water and needs fixing. Only one dishwasher tablet was provided and no washing up liquid. The towels were usable but of low quality. There was a lovely patio to the rear of the property and the general location was very quiet. Car parking for two cars was great. Overall the property worked for us and we would be happy to return.

We had a lovely stay here and the location was great - would have been nice to maybe have had some milk in the fridge on arrival and a couple of tea bags - but the cottage itself was very well equipped.

When we arrived we were disappointed initially as there were ALOT of dog hairs all over the seats in the kitchen, the sofa etc. we had to vacuum top to bottom - I more than appreciate that the place is dog friendly as we have a dog but my husband is allergic to dog hair and there was quite a lot of it.

Washing machine would be good but we managed. Quite a bit of noise from back of property but didn’t bother us too much this week. Thank you.

Our first impression was the size and space of the property, it seemed bigger than we expected!

The hall was great to get everything and the dogs in and out, the kitchen well laid out and everything you needed, great living room and outside area, comfortable beds and a great shower! We booked it the day before arrival and the property was clean, tidy and ready for us. The views from the property are stunning, and you can hear a pin drop at night, so peaceful! Good off-road space to park two cars. Our two spaniels relaxed straight into the place, and loved the nearby Dawlish Countryside Park. It is fantastic for exercising the dogs and has a fenced off agility area you can also use for apprehensive pups; and it's free! We were very happy with our stay, and will definitely look at this property first when we explore South Devon again! Thank you.

An extremely clean, well equipped accommodation throughout.

The perfect base to go back to for relaxing after a busy day or just spending a peaceful day indoors.

We stayed for five days and were delighted with everything.

Parking available for two cars. The cottage was spotless and well furnished. It really was home from home. We have a dog and the hallway was a great place for her to be left - warm and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a separate lounge which was very comfortable and cosy. Also a separate toilet downstairs for convenience. Upstairs the bedrooms were well apportioned and comfortable. Bathroom was clean. We will be looking to return as soon as we can.

This was our first stay and we would definitely come back.

The cottage was spotless when we arrived and had everything we needed. Plenty of parking, fully equipped kitchen and the view from the kitchen window is amazing. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone

Our second visit this year.

We love this cottage, It’s like a home from home. Its cosy and comfortable with everything you need. You feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere but are only 5 minutes away from a supermarket and less than 10 minutes from the beach. Its just perfect in every way. Highly recommend a visit! Looking forward to coming back next year .

Sawtons Cottage 2 was fantastic.

The cottage was spotless, and the bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever had in a holiday cottage. The welcome pack was a lovely touch, and the kitchen was very well equipped, making cooking easy and enjoyable. The bathroom was spotless and had everything needed, and the lounge was spacious and comfortable. The location down a quiet country lane really gave a special Devon feel. The only downside was that the EV charging point information was out of date, as Sainsbury’s no longer has one. Overall, an excellent stay that I would happily recommend.

I would have liked a watering can / hose to clean patio after one of my dogs had a poorly tummy.

A few board games to encourage grandchildren to come off devices in evening and a hand towel for kitchen would also have been useful but it was still a perfect stay with all the home comforts provided. I would definitely recommend to friend and family.

Beautifully appointed cottage.

Lovely kitchen and living area. Really quiet up the hill on a country lane but still easily accessible to all amenities. Very clean and tidy. Perfect for our few days away.

This is our 3rd year staying at Sawtons Cottages.

The first 2 years we stayed at Cottage 1 and this year we decided to stay at Cottage 2. Again, we had a wonderful stay and couldn't fault anything. We had a couple of issues when we arrived, but as soon as we contacted the owners these were put right extremely quickly. We will be back again next year. Thank you so much :)

We had an amazing stay.

The Cottage is so much bigger than we expected, It was comfy and cosy and the outside patio was perfect for the dogs. We had a lovely chat with the owner about the place she was so lovely. The cottage is perfection I can’t fault anything and I highly recommend a stay. We loved it so much we booked again while we was still there.

Perhaps some wooden spoons/soft plastic and a cheese grater would be beneficial.

Is only two years old in 2024 comfy and nicely decorated, very dog friendly .

More space than I was expecting. Access - if you’re coming from Exeter direction, take Port Road on the right, just before Sainsburys. Taking Fore street in Kenton, your first option and the way the satnav took us, is the long way round on very narrow roads. Good array of crockery and cutlery. Plenty of fridge and freezer space. Large smart TV. Would highly recommend. Plenty of local pubs and takeaways .

The property was above our expectations.

It was modern, spacious & clean. Well located, with easy access (by car) in to town.

Kitchen and bathroom all looks brand new with everything you need. location was also great , we had a lovely stay and the weather behaved .

Ideal spot for getting around easy to get to we are hoping to get back next year

The property was amazing, you would need a car for transport though, unless you are a walker.

The owners were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Would stay again , although we do like to explore places we haven’t been before.

One small issue.

I found the lounge sofa uncomfortable.

The cottage was lovely except from the small bedroom - NOT for older adults I’m afraid - the fault was the bunk bed - FAR too big for the room with a low ceiling AND could only get out one side - (ok for children) luckily we found the bed settee or our stay would of been miserable - they really should do something about that as sleeping in the living room with the stairscase leading from it to the rest of the cottage its not very convenient - also a long wall mirror is needed in both rooms rather than on the landing but that’s a very small matter - the bunk beds were a definite no no for us - if that was changed we would definitely book that cottage again.

A really lovely stay, very peaceful.

Just a couple of little things, more coat hangers needed and pegs for the washing line. Overall an excellent stay, and hoping to return in the future. Thank you.

We absolutely loved this cottage.

Would happily stay here again. Well situated to access south Devon. Beach is only a 10 minute drive away, dawlish country park is great for walking especially if you have dogs. Torbay is within half an hour, and 20 mins to Exeter.

Lovely accommodation, modern very clean and tidy, lots of space, secure patio area, ideal for bbq and storing bikes etc, would definitely stay again.

Sadly my son had fourteen flea bites all over his body from fleas in the bed.

We did find one on the top bunk bed and dog hair in the sheet and sofa downstairs and we had been so looking forward to this stay

Lovely base for exploring the area , we stayed in Sawtons 2 for 3 nights.

Beautiful inside, comfortable furnishings and clean . My husband was impressed with the size of the tv and the very comfortable bed. Lovely little courtyard garden, with Dawlish Country park less than 10 minutes away in the car , if like us you need to give your dog exercise. Would definitely recommend to friends & book this for ourselves if visiting Devon again.

Would have give this 5 star but lack of sanitising products/cooking products I.

e. no foil or cling film or worktop spray sanitisers. Also the dissapointment of the outlook at the rear of the property from the lounge and bedroom very untidy workshop and greenhouse areas which were well disguised in your promotion photographs. But doesn't detract this is a lovely recent new build property

A bit out of the way down a Devon lane, but excellent facilities and for dog walking Dawlish country park not far away.

large supermarket within 10 minutes drive. We found the cottage suitable for our needs and have booked again for next year

what a lovely holiday we had with our 2 dogs at Sawtons Cottage 2.

From the minute we opened the front door we were amazed at how wonderful the cottage was, it was so well presented and modern everything had been thought about, all those little extras that make your holiday. We loved the comfort and well set out rooms we would definitely stay again. The dogs loved being there lots of places to go walking, everywhere we visited were happy to see the dogs and welcomed them. We would recommend that if you get the chance you too would enjoy your stay.

Fabulous cottage, everything thought of for you to be able to enjoy your stay.

Dawlish Country Park 3 minutes away for great dog walking and dog friendly beaches at Teignmouth and Dawlish Warren (very difficult with a pushchair, some families really struggled in the dunes to get to the dog beach). Mum did struggle with the height of the bath(80 years old) so that may be something to consider. All in all the perfect holiday experience and an immaculately clean cottage.

Everything thought of. Clean, bright and comfortable. Perfect location for access to beach, country park, forest, the dog loved it. Would definitely recommend and return.

Our stay was the coldest week this year.

Snow , heavy frost but luckily dry. We cannot fault the cottage for its warmth, and comfort There is a small concrete area at the back of the cottage with table and chairs and everything that you need that made the whole experience 10/10

Great cottage, very clean and well equipped including thoughtful bits for the dog.

Location a little tricky for walking the dog straight from the cottage but only a short drive to Dawlish Warren. Grateful for the late booking. Thank you.
