We have stayed at Pebble Bay many times and previously would have rated it 5*.

Not this time. It was very dirty and in some places absolutely filthy, and the checking and maintenance between guests is non existent. Cleaning issues were; Dog poo left in the garden. Lounge floor filthy- large drifts of long blonde hair under coffee table. Coffee table shelves covered in a layer of dust and dirt. A layer of old food left along the edges of the hob. The bathroom floor left with hair and dirt. Many general surfaces have a layer of dust or dirt. This level of dirt doesn’t come from a one off issue, but from months of not being cleaned properly between visitors, or routinely deep cleaned. Maintenance issues The garden has become very scruffy. The grass was too long especially for dogs, there were dead plants and lots of weeds. Grass was cut just before we left. There is a lot of wear and tear around the property. Nothing has been done since it was first let several years ago. The bathroom tile grouts have become mouldy. This is easy to rectify if the owners could be bothered. Checking between guests Bulb out in the lounge lamp- no spares available. Washing up liquid available, but no dishcloth available to wash up with or clean down kitchen surfaces. Main room duvet cover so creased it wasn’t possible to tell if it was actually clean. Pillow covers had black hairs on them. We chose not to call in the issues at the time, since we were not prepared to waste a day of our holiday dealing with cleaning and maintenance issues. We sorted what we needed to and ignored the rest. Photographs are available if you need them.
