Escape to Captains Barn, a beautifully converted barn set in the rolling Mid Devon countryside near the charming village of Cadeleigh.

With far-reaching rural views, a spacious garden for guests to enjoy and welcoming dog-friendly accommodation, it provides the perfect setting for a memorable Devon escape.

Blending character with contemporary style, Captains Barn is an ideal choice for couples looking to spend quality time together, while also offering plenty of space for friends and families.

Welcoming one well-behaved small or medium-sized dog, the barn enjoys an authentic rural setting where guests can experience the charm of country life.

The bright open-plan living space is the heart of the home, featuring tasteful furnishings and a well-equipped kitchen with everything needed to prepare delicious home-cooked meals.

Gather around the dining table to plan the next day's adventures before settling into the inviting sitting area with a refreshing drink, a board game or a good book.

The stylish bathroom features both a bath and separate shower, while the two spacious super-king-size bedrooms have been thoughtfully designed for a restful night's sleep.

One bedroom can also be arranged as twin beds on request, offering flexibility for different groups.

Outside, the spacious garden is reserved exclusively for guests throughout their stay.

As Captains Barn sits beside a traditional working farm, you may occasionally see tractors or farm vehicles passing by, adding to the authentic character of this rural location.

For four-legged guests, a portable shower that can be filled with warm water is provided, along with environmentally friendly dog shampoo for outdoor use only.

You'll also find treats, a brush and quick-drying towels in the dedicated drying station within the open-fronted barn alongside Captains Barn, making it easy to clean up after countryside walks.

The welcoming village pub is just a short stroll away, while nearby Tiverton and Crediton offer a wider selection of shops, cafés and supermarkets.

Exeter is also within easy reach, with its magnificent cathedral, historic quayside, museums, restaurants and excellent shopping.

Discover the Grand Western Canal, Tiverton Castle, Knightshayes and Killerton, or venture further to Exmoor National Park, the Jurassic Coast and the stunning beaches of North and South Devon.

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, enjoying a countryside break or simply taking time away from everyday life, Captains Barn offers a warm welcome and an ideal base from which to discover the very best of Devon.

We enjoyed our stay in the Captains Barn, the accommodation was of a very high standard with lots of little extras which enhanced our stay.

Our Dog was very well catered for with nice little touches that made him feel very pampered. The owners greeted us on arrival and made sure our stay included everything we needed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Truly Magical Escape We Never Wanted to Leave Captains Barn is nothing short of magical.

From the moment you begin the drive through the most breathtaking countryside, with views that look as though they've been lifted straight from a postcard, you can feel the stresses of everyday life start to disappear. Then you arrive, and somehow the reality is even more impressive than the photographs. The pictures simply don't do it justice. The property is absolutely stunning, far larger than we expected, with beautiful spaces, incredible attention to detail, and a warmth that immediately makes you feel at home. Julie and Tim were wonderful hosts from start to finish. Friendly, welcoming and thoughtful, they made sure we knew where everything was and how everything worked, which made settling in effortless. The welcome gifts provided were incredibly thoughtful, from local snacks to apple juice from their own apple trees. Every detail has been carefully considered and the property has not only been finished to a high standard but it is spotless and exceptionally well maintained. The kitchen is really well stocked with everything you could possibly need, the bedrooms are wonderfully comfortable with blackout blinds for a perfect night's sleep, and the bathrooms are filled with useful extras and thoughtful touches that elevate the whole experience. As dog owners, we can honestly say this is the most dog-friendly place we have ever stayed. There were feeding bowls, a dedicated feeding station, a god wash with shampoo, spare bowls, treats, and an enormous basket overflowing with blankets and toys. It genuinely felt as though Bear was just as much a guest as we were. In fact, we're fairly certain she didn't want to leave any more than we did! One of our favourite things was simply sitting beside the pond, watching the world go by and soaking up the peace and tranquillity that surrounds the property, including watching the hot air balloons. It's one of those rare places that encourages you to slow down, breathe deeply, and appreciate the simple pleasure of being present. Captains Barn is more than just a holiday cottage; it's a place to truly switch off, recharge and reconnect. Leaving was incredibly difficult, and that's probably the greatest compliment we can give. We arrived looking forward to a relaxing break and left wishing we could stay forever. We can't recommend it highly enough, dreaming of our return long after we've gone. ❤️
