    “What a wonderful 4 day break.”

    Looking at the other huts, think the Owl is the best, great view over the valley. Good size hot tub, all ready to go, inspected daily. Your hut is not looked at, up to you to manage it. Lovely food hamper on arrival, eggs, bread, and other stuff. Staff very good, you won’t see them often, but are a quick call away. No cars on site, you get a golf buggy to move from car park to your hut, nice and easy to drive. Would definitely book again

    Thank you for your comprehensive review and we will be pleased to welcome you back soon! We often argue over which hut has the best view and Owl is the lowest of the huts (they're all high up mind you) but is unencumbered by trees for a fantastic view along the valley. Property Owner

The property

This lovely russet colour Shepherd's Hut, nestles at the far end of the orchard; tiered and planted banks affording privacy for enjoying the superb views across the valley from your own private hot tub.

Inside you will discover a luxury king size bed, seating area with foldaway table next to a wood burning stove for romantic meals.

A fitted kitchen with Belling electric cooker and hob, Smeg fridge and a Nespresso machine for your morning coffee fix.

All mod cons including an Amazon Echo plus smart speaker pre-programmed with area guidance and those keen music enthusiasts you will even find a vinyl record player and a collection of records, with high quality hi-fi headphones from Grado & Sennheiser so you don’t disturb the peace!

A shower room with walk in shower is situated at the far end and completes the accommodation.

Outside there is a spacious patio to the side with your own private hot tub, Chiminea that doubles up as a BBQ, loveseat and table and chairs.

The small rural North Devon village of High Bickington is set in the area known as 'Tarka country'. On a ridge above the Taw Valley boasting views towards Exmoor and Dartmoor, the village offers a Post Office, two pubs, a holistic beauty salon and Libbaton golf course. The small village of Umberleigh is only five miles away and has a railway station where trains run on the Tarka Line to Barnstaple or Exeter. Within driving distance is the historic town of Great Torrington, where you will find independent shops and Dartington glassworks where visitors can watch in wonder at the glassblowers, plus on the outskirts of town is Rosemoor, a garden of national importance with forty acres to delight and inspire a wide range of visitors. This area of North Devon has something for everyone including country walks, fishing and golf, as well as good access to a selection of wonderful beaches.
