A Beautiful Hidden Gem – Our Favourite Place to Stay!

What a lovely hidden gem Long Linney is! Tucked away in the peaceful countryside, with beautiful views of the rolling hills, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. We’ve been holidaying around Westward Ho! and Bideford for around eight years now, and I think we can finally say we’ve found our favourite property and location to stay – Long Linney! The whole setup was absolutely perfect for us and our dogs. The property is completely fenced and gated, which meant that for the first time ever, we could drive in, shut the gate and simply let the dogs jump straight out of the van off lead. It was wonderful! There is a huge amount of land for them to explore and roam around, and knowing they were safe and secure, with no worries about them escaping, was such a relief. It made the holiday that much more relaxing for us and enjoyable for the dogs. The property itself is full of charm and character, and we particularly loved being able to read about its history. It’s those little touches that make a place feel extra special. The showers were fantastic too, with great water pressure, which is always a bonus when staying away! After eight years of visiting this beautiful part of Devon, it’s lovely to have finally found somewhere that ticks all the boxes for us. The location, the peaceful surroundings, the character of the property and, most importantly, the freedom it gave our dogs made it a really special stay. Long Linney really is a little slice of countryside heaven, and we can’t wait to return!

We were delighted with Long Linney from the moment we first entered the property to the moment we closed the door as we left.

The property is spacious, well equipped and dog-friendly. The views across the adjacent fields are stunning and it is well situated to explore the local coastal resorts and Exmoor.

Lovely property.

Beds were comfy and the house was clean and well looked after. Easy parking, large garden with eating areas, and well maintained relaxing hot tub. It was also helpful to have a washing machine, dishwasher and games. Only downside was that we did need to drive to walk the dog - due to narrow country lanes in the immediate vicinity. The large secure garden meant lots of space for our dog to run about, however. We had a great stay and loved Westwood Ho! beach which is only a short drive away. I would definitely recommend this property.
