The Linhay
Description
At the end of a private drive on a smallholding in a hidden Dartmoor valley is The Linhay.
This very comfortable apartment has direct access to the moor and great views towards Brentor church and Dartmoor's highest tors.
Inside is bright, modern and easy.
Fifteen steps lead to the entrance via big French windows to the open-plan living area where you can sit in front of the wood burner, on a comfortable sofa and admire the views of the moor and valley.
The very pretty double bedroom has a king-size bed adjoins a lavish bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate shower.
You're welcome to wander the surrounding 20 acres of field, woodland and lakes, and there's a small enclosed patio garden with furniture for your own private use.
The Linhay is a really great base within easy reach of the most dramatic Dartmoor tors.
1½ miles from Lydford, with its spectacular gorge and 3 miles from Brentor, the scenery here is breathtaking.
For the sporty among you, you can walk or cycle along the Granite Way, or Roadford Lake offers an array of water sports.
For a more relaxed turn of pace the beaches of south Devon are within a 30 minute drive.

A lovely cottage in a great position and very friendly and helpful hosts, what more could you want.
We recently spent a week in this beautiful country accommodation.
It really is so peaceful and relaxing. Lovely walks right from the door and within a couple of minutes you are on the moors. Nice big bedroom and living space . We didn’t use the wood burner though I imagine in the cold weather it’s very homely .
It was rather a shaky start, to the holiday, we couldn't get hold of the owners to let them know our ETA as both numbers we were given were unavailable.
I called the Sykes office who told me they would get the local office to try but not to worry as the key code was in our email so we'd be able to let ourselves in. On our arrival it was rather a chilly afternoon so on letting ourselves in as there was no answer at the main house we set about trying to get the heating up and running, although the information book said it included the heating and hot water instructions, it didn't, neither were there any logs or kindling for the log burner. Fortunately a couple of hours later the house sitter turned up and explained that the owners were in Canada and assumed we'd been informed which we hadnt. She managed to get the heating up and running so all ended up well. From there on we had a fantastic stay, brilliant location with walks directly on to Dartmoor, though we unable to explore the full 20 acres of the woodland area as the gate was padlocked. We will definitely return.
