Could not help but be impressed from the moment we arrived.

Directions to the property were spot on. Warm welcome from Cathy (owner) and her dad, who was always ready for a chat. Great accommodation, great area. It is a shame that I fell foul of the hot weather whildt out walking. All my own stupid fault! Dave Gorman

This was our first experience with Sykes,communication and service was really good clear instructions so very pleased The Dovecote was very well equipped and comfortable the owner very friendly and helpful as were the neighbours very dog friendly ,surrounding scenery lovely plenty to see and visit locally very peaceful and relaxing

The property has all that is needed and a kind welcome pack of essentials is really thoughtful.

We had lovely peaceful days the place is spotlessly clean and the view across the water is beautiful as well as the sheep who were busy hedge trimming whilst we were there. The garden is fully enclosed for most dogs our beagle though we kept on a long line just in case as he is an infamous houdini dog and it was enough to stop him looking with any great motivation. We sadly only booked for 3 nights I could easily have stayed a week or more the positioning meant it was restful as you had all you needed and did not have to leave home to find it.Thank you very much.

Lovely cottage, lemon drizzle cake,and eggs when we arrived, owners was very friendly, our 2 little pugs enjoyed the enclosed garden, cottage is bit out of the way, but lovely quite,enjoyed the sheep,came to see us when we sitting outside, would definitely recommend, ,big thank you

This is an amazing property, there is everything you need in the home.

It’s extremely comfortable. It’s quiet even tho it’s it on a working farm. The views are amazing. Saw the owner and family, all extremely welcoming, checking everything was ok, checking on any issues. We normally have issues sleeping in new environment, here we slept from day 1, we have 2 dogs and they loved having a secure garden, laying on the decking. Watching the sheep and lambs. This a def place you will want to return to.

Brilliant- very comfortable, lovely host, beautiful location on a sheep farm with far reaching vews of the countryside and sea.

A perfect family holiday.

The Dovecote is the perfect place to relax with beautiful views and peaceful surroundings. The sheep are quiet neighbours and the wildlife is beautiful. The farmer Dennis welcomed us on arrival and Kath phoned to welcome us too. Lovely brown eggs and lemon drizzle cake were waiting inside which were delightful. The Dovecote is perfectly situated to explore surrounding beaches and the coastline and is perfect to come back to and sit looking out at the views! Everything was provided to make our stay comfortable and stress free and our dog loved the secure garden and views too! We loved every minute. Thank you.

The owners were very helpful and friendly.

Kath had made us a lovely cake, there were also fresh eggs, milk and beautiful flowers in the bungalow awaiting our arrival. Kath was able to give us information on the area and suggestions on where to go and how to get to places of interest. We had a relaxing and enjoyable break at this property.

The property was spacious with a very good secure garden and excellent parking.

The coastal scenery is beautiful and you have a choice of good places to visit in the area without having to travel too far. It’s a very quiet and peaceful location and the owners are available but not intrusive. Great gas cooker, dishwasher and really helpful to have a full size fridge/freezer as no large supermarket in the vicinity. WiFi was good, we had no problems with it at all. Would definitely visit again.

The WiFi is extremely slow

This is one of the best cottages we have stayed in.

Extremely comfortable and well equipped. Spacious, especially for the two of us. The setting was ideal and guaranteed a relaxing holiday. The owners were brilliant- on hand if you needed them but otherwise completely unobtrusive. A much appreciated “welcome pack” on arrival. Towels, bed linen changed at the beginning of our second week

We had a great time exploring the area.

The accommodation provided was cosy and comfortable and all the amenities were provided, and we loved it. Enjoyed the eggs and lemon drizzle cake. It was sad to leave on Friday. The only one thing that could be provided was a bread bin, but everything else was in place. We would love to come back very soon.

A great place to explore the beautiful North Devon coastline.

It's a beautiful part of the country to visit. The place has great views and was very quiet and peaceful. It had everything we needed for a great relaxing family holiday.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Dovecote,it has everything you need,nice and cosy,sea views amazing from the window,lovely position.

If you like walking, it's definitely one to go for,we had some lovely walks on the coastal path, and walk's from the door, week is not long enough.Would definitely go back.

Brilliantly situated in the heart of North Devon!

The pictures on the Sykes app don’t do the Dovecote justice. Stunning views over the bay are exquisite and hard to peel your eyes from! And the neighbours (the sheep) are adorable! You’re made to feel welcome by the family on the farm: A home from home.

From the minute we arrived we met Kath who gave us a very warm welcome.

We knew immediately that our stay was going to be a holiday to remember with fondness. We were not wrong. If there was anything we needed to know we were informed immediately. If we wanted anything we were invited to ask. We were told to treat our holiday home as though it were our home. The sincerity in this comment meant so much. The accommodation was immaculate. I don’t think we found anything that we didn’t need. It was equipped to perfection. There were so many lovely comments in the comments book and one in particular caught our eye. I’m sure many others noticed this in the book. To know what I am talking about you would have to go and have a holiday of your own to see exactly what I am talking about. This comment said everything to us about the lovely people who have opened their holiday let to us and many others. This was an outstanding place and the owners, just so lovely. I’m sure I have left other things out of this review but all I can say is thank you for making sure we had a week to remember. Would we return again? Without a doubt we would. Thank you to Kath and your family. Our holiday was one to remember with fondness. xx

We had a very relaxing and happy stay at dovecote.

It was all that we had hoped for made better by wonderful weather so we could take full advantage of the wonderful views. Seeing lambs everyday was fabulous too.

Owner was kind, welcoming and helpful. No problems at all. Comfortable, clean and very well furnished. Great for dogs with a enclosed garden, good views out to the Atlantic. Probably the best eggs I've eaten, a welcome gift along with a lemon drizzle cake. Recommended.

Home from home It’s comfortable cosy the views 2nd time here

The Dovecot is in a delightful farmyard setting with sheep bleating in the barn and in the fields and a somewhat distant sea view.

We were very comfortable in the house and delighted with the thoughtful "survival" package of milk, lemon drizzle cake and the brownest eggs we have ever seen in our lives! The garden was ideal for our dog as it was fully enclosed and the deck could have been a real blessing had the weather been suitable. The information pack was really helpful, specially the last two pages, written by nine year old E...... Highly recommended.

The house was comfortable and easily accessible inside for a less mobile member of our family. The garden was flat and super safe for dogs. The views are outstanding. Excellent accommodation, location and kind hosts that made our holiday experience perfect. Extra thanks for all the sheep bonuses that have given us happy memories.

We had a great holiday at The Dovecote and found the cottage to be very well equipped, comfortable and the owners very helpful.

Having said that we do think that it was over-priced as parts of the cottage were beginning to look a bit tatty in places and the cleaning could have been better.

This is a lovely place to have a holiday, peaceful ,quiet, very relaxing, everything you need is here, this is a home from home.

The owners are so friendly, kind and helpful. Perfect place to stay for exploring N Devon & Cornwall ,with plenty for a family to see and do. Very happy to stay here again.

Lovely comfy property in excellent order and a very warm welcome.

Highly pleased with the cleanliness of the property. Very well equipped. One of the best we have stayed in. Peaceful location with lovely views which can be enjoyed from the very nice garden furniture on the decking. We often have concerns over the dog security in the garden when booking but this garden is super secure. We had a fantastic week.

The Dovecote is a lovely place to stay in North Devon.

Everything you need is provided. The owner was extremely helpful and the locals ( Sheep, Hens and Cockerell) were very welcoming.

We self cater and there was a few utensils lacking BUT it didn’t in anyway spoil the holiday.

The views from the cottage and the outside seating area were amazing. The pleasure of the countryside but near enough to the main road when you wanted to explore.

We had a wonderful time at The Dovecote.

It was perfectly located with a beautiful view of the sea and the Devon coastline, with sun on the garden from sunrise to sunset. The cottage itself was much bigger than I expected and suited a family with 2 teenagers perfectly with all the facilities needed. The location was great for walking the south west coast path and near to amazing beaches for sea, sand, sun and surf! Kath and family were very helpful and friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. Highly recommended

Dovecote is a lovely comfortable cottage situated in a beautiful area.

This cottage is very clean. It is well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The cake, milk & eggs were a lovely gesture on arrival. Kath & her family were so friendly & helpful, thank you. We have already recommended iDovecote to family & friends.

Cottage is exactly as described, roomy with an excellent range of equipment, warm and cosy.

Lovely views and nearby walks - all very dog friendly for well behaved family pets. The owner is extremely accommodating, there's a nice welcome pack with fresh cake, wine and local eggs, and her parents who live opposite were very nice to us. The most impressive thing of all is that this is not on a holiday park/ complex, it's a very peaceful and relaxing cottage in a beautiful location on a working farm with views over Bideford Bay. Superb!

Very thoughtful arrival goodies parcel greeting as you arrive. Very enjoyable stay overall which we managed to enjoy despite the threat of Covid 19 rearing its ugly head.

The Dovecote was amazing!

So restful looking out at the stunning views. The cottage was spotlessly clean and we wanted for nothing. The bottle of wine, the home made cake, amazing free range eggs from the chickens you see from the window were such a nice touch. The garden was secure for the dog. The beds really comfortable. A great base for walking the coast path. Some beautiful places to visit and some great pubs serving good food a short drive away. We were made to feel so welcome by Kath and family. One of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed. Felt like home and can’t wait to go back

Lovely place to stay.

Clean and tidy with everything you need for a weeks stay. Handy lane for walking the dog. Great homemade cake and some very tasty eggs in the kitchen on our arrival.

The dovecote was a lovely exceptionally clean cottage,Jean met us as we arrived and showed us all around,the cottage was really clean ,the bed was really comfortable also the lounge suite,she left us a lovely lemon drizzle cake also a bottle of wine milk and eggs and it was made to feel really homely by the fresh flowers on the table thankyou so much,we will miss the moo moos and the chickens sleeping on the gate every night

Ideally situated to tour district with lovely caring hosts introducing their animals to my grandchildren of 3.

Lovely cottage, beautiful location.

A wonderful welcome from the owners, who left us milk, eggs (from the chickens next to the cottage!) a bottle of wine and home made cake! It was great for our dog, with a circular walk around the farm well marked, including lanes, fields and woodland. It is a working farm so respect for livestock is a must, but the garden is safely enclosed. We had a really great week - plenty to see and do whatever the weather!

Absolutely Fabulous, the holiday home was well equipped, in a rural, charming setting on a working farm it was lovely to see the cows each morning and evening going for milking.

Geographically, the Dovecote is ideally located for visiting places in all directions; more importantly, perhaps, it was quiet, peaceful and tranquil - idyllic, in fact.
