Beautiful property in lovely grounds.

Grooms cottage is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Fantastic housekeeping - property was absolutely spotless. Super comfy bed so we slept really well and it is a very peaceful location. Thoughtful welcome gift from owner was much appreciated.

We needed a dog friendly cottage and location, Grooms Cottage did not disappoint.

Excellent cottage with access to lovely grounds on the doorstep. Nearby pubs and shop with very friendly people made us feel welcome. No hesitation recommending this holiday property.

It was a wonderful place to stay my husband passed away 2weeks before we were due to go but my granddaughter and myself decided to go and he would have loved to thank for a lovely peaceful stay we definitely needed it

A beautiful cottage set in a tranquil location.

If you want to totally switch off, this is the place for you. The owners are discrete but available if you need them and the local shop is a 1 minute walk away. If you are taking your dog, the outside space is perfect for them to have a a good run around and is totally secure for them. Couldn’t rate this any higher, we loved it!

Quite the best cottage I have stayed in.

Very comfortable, superbly equipped and in lovely surroundings. My dog gives it 10 out of 10, which let’s face it, matters more to me than anything!

Well equipped, cosy and spotlessly clean property.

Large private garden area made it ideal for walking our dog in safety. Good location for touring Devon with many pubs serving delicious food. Don’t worry about the narrow lanes this is what gives Devon its unique character. Leslie

It was spotless, very well equipped and extremely comfortable. It’s easy to access all the lovely beaches from and great for walking the dogs. We couldn’t have asked for anything more and will be booking again. As a mum of teenagers it’s great to find somewhere we can just go and chill that meets all our needs. Thank you.

So glad that we found Grooms Cottage, from the welcome received from the owner together with flowers, coffee and prosecco to the extremely well equipped kitchen and comfortable furnishings throughout nothing has been missed and lots of extra touches making your stay even better.

Set in beautiful grounds and a great base for easy access to coastal areas and lovely inland forest walks. A little gem and we shall be returning soon.

The cottage was really fabulous.

Beautifully fitted out and with a great attention to detail. The host was very helpful and responsive. The grounds were also lovely. The only improvement for us would be if the little terrace was enclosed. It did have a hedge but if there was also a small fence it would have been easier to let our dog potter in and out rather than have to tie her up just in case she wandered. It would also stop other dogs coming for an uninvited play date!

We stayed at Groom's Cottage as part of a group of 9 in 3 of the cottages, this being the smallest.

This was great for 2 but did lack a bit of cupboard space in the kitchen. It was Christmas however and you tend to have a lot of "stuff!" All the cottages are fabulously appointed and well positioned in a nice little village only about 30 mins from the coast and various great places to visit. Thoroughly recommend all the cottages and worked very well as a larger group all coming together in the largest for dinners. Diana was a fabulous host, thank you so much for a lovely stay, we would love to return.

Wonderful relaxing cottage in great location.

We had a special week with our family who were in the cottage next door. Diana was very helpful and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. A great place to explore the area. Even though the weather was not wall to wall sunshine the cottage was just like being at home. We really didn’t want to leave.

This was a return visit to Grooms Cottage because we liked & enjoyed it so much last year when we stayed there.

It did not disappoint. We had a lovely fortnight's stay. The weather was a little iffy for the first week but, because the cottage was so comfortable, it wasn't a problem staying indoors! Diana, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful & accommodating. I was impressed with the care taken in the freshening up, linen change & cleaning of the cottage for our second week. Fresh flowers, coffee pods & prosecco too. A welcome touch. The cottage is well placed for amenities (a village Community Shop, Ottery St Mary & Honiton) & site seeing. This was our second stay at Grooms Cottage after a break of five years, and equally as enjoyable as our first experience.

The most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in, everything has been thought of.

When it comes to booking places to stay, I take the time to do my research, especially when staying far from home.

This trip was only 1.5hrs from home and reasonably last minute. So pleased I applied my usual OCD level of research finding this perfect Cottage in an excellent location with easy access to the coast. Evident that time and effort had gone into setting up the Cottage. Nice open plan, perfect for two with space for a third. Well equipped. Plenty of space to walk the dogs within the grounds of Talaton House. The fact that the cottage/Cottages are within the grounds adds to the overall experience. We had good communication with the owners prior to and during. We were made to feel very welcome. We look forward to staying here again

This compact cottage is absolutely charming! An excellent reading/therapy room. VERY high spec (impressive). Surrounded by beautiful greenery. An ideal place to stay any time of year! The owner is delightful to say the least, most considerate. I would definitely, definitely recommend!!!

Beautiful accommodation in a peaceful setting.

Friendly village, lovely pub, beaches and countryside all close by. Best of both worlds. Highly recommend.

Wonderful stay - cottage is quiet and secluded, situated in large grounds.

Had everything we needed in the cottage for a comfortable stay. Our host was excellent. We enjoyed very hot weather and even with all doors open the cottage became very warm but without prompting a fan was dropped in to us which was most welcome! We look forward to returning one day

Cottage was great.

It was comfortable and relaxing and has everything we needed. It’s in a beautiful setting and was a great base for exploring the East Devon area. We really loved it.

Grooms Cottage was the best we have ever stayed in.

The design, decor and equipment provided was second to none and the grounds it is set in are beautiful and peaceful. The owners are friendly and helpful. It’s position is good for visiting coast or countryside and there are lots of attractions to visit within a 10 mile radius.

Wonderful base for an active holiday in beautifully quiet east Devon.

Perfect high quality accommodation with very helpful owners close by who will resolve any unexpected difficulties or queries about the facilities in the local area. Relative closeness of railway stations mean extra travel options to Exeter and beyond are possible.

Very well equipped accommodation - king size comfortable bed, very clean, good WiFi and well equipped kitchen.

Lovely location set in the grounds of a beautiful house. Hope to return one day if we are in the area.

I would thoroughly recommend The Grooms Cottage, it is just as stunning as the photos in the most beautiful and peaceful setting!

A really well thought about accommodation, with all modern amenities.

We are senior citizens and loved everything about this first class accommodation for the 4 nights we spent there. Exploring this part of Devonshire as well as looking up past dwellings was delightful. The cottage is based in beautiful grounds, peaceful countryside, has a convenient local village shop and an a friendly pub near by, which does adequate good meals. Excellent 5 star restaurant within easy reach by car, for dinner when required. A wonderful stay. Thank you for all your care and attention to detail, very much appreciated.
