Just got home from a lovely week at Pier View.

A comfortable, spacious apartment for two or a family with children, but it might be a little cramped for four adults. We brought our dog and there were nice touches for him. Flat was very clean overall, but the sofa and chair in lounge have dirty marks all over, which put us off. We had brought blankets and used them as throws. Bed was very comfortable, main bedroom a good size with plenty of storage. Bathroom excellent with a decent shower and also a handy second cloakroom. Kitchen well equipped with large fridge freezer. Some of the cooking pots were a bit old and grubby but generally fine. The garden was lovely with nice seating. We had a slight technical problem but contacted the owners who speedily and quickly resolved it. They were very nice to deal with. The road the property it on is a hill and a bit further from the beach than we thought. Parking at the property is fine. We didn't have any noise or problems with the people upstairs. We would consider staying here again.

This is lovely apartment on a quiet side road, one of the nicest we have stayed at.

It has everything you need and has the advantage of having o good enclosed garden. If, like me, you prefer not to drive when away, there is a bus stop at the bottom of the road giving easy access through regular (about every 10 to 12 minutes) access to Torquay, Brixham and Paignton.

Had a lovely stay at pier view house is clean and comfortable ideal location we used buses which stop at end of the Rd run every 7-10 mins even on Sunday .

This was a lovely property.

Very cosy, clean and perfect for our weekend away before Christmas. The beaches, amenities and everything you would need are very close to the property. The owners decorated for Christmas and left us with a festive afternoon tea with all the trimmings, we were very impressed. One thing to improve the experience would be for proper curtains to be fitted in the second twin bedroom. The tenant upstairs arrives home late at night and parks outside the bedroom window which disturbed our daughter’s sleep. However, other reviews state that the tenant upstairs was quite loud, we didn’t find this at all. We appreciate that we stayed during winter but the decking outside was very slippery indeed. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this property and hope to return one day.

Loved being near to public transport

Just what I wanted.

Iam disabled ant the bus stops were at the bottom of the road .Managed to travel everywhere.My dog loved the garden.Very comfy

This place is perfect,near everything but just out of the hustle and bustle of the resort.

The hosts Sharon and Gary are lovely people and go out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable. The garden is relaxing to sit out in the evening sunshine and the whole property is well maintained. I would definitely recommend Pier View and are already planning our next visit.

The apartment is in a good location to access all areas, however the main road is extremely busy to cross to walk to the promenade.

The accomodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. The only things that need some attention are parts of the decking have worn and are unsafe to walk on and it needs painting. The sofa in the lounge, although leather... is absolutely filthy. A different non stick frying pan would not go a miss either. This place is not for us, because there is no privacy in the back garden(overlooked by upstairs tenants and all the neighbours.

Great property.

All on one level ideal for infirm mother in law. Enough crockery and cooking utensils. Quiet location. Plenty of outside space to relax.

What a lovely appartment had everything you needed .

The cream tea and flowers were a lovely . It was perfect . And you didn't even know there was anybody in the flat above . We would definitely go back its in an ideal location .

Pier View was clean, comfortable, spacious and really local to shops and eateries and also the bus stop is at the end of the road.

In hindsight perhaps for us a ground floor apartment was not the correct choice and we would not book one again as we have always had houses or cottages. The reason for this is the occupants upstairs were quite noisy at times and we really didn’t appreciate being woken up at 5.00am on weekdays and then car doors banging and engine starting up directly under your bedroom window, but I suppose they have to go to work etc? If you are a good sleeper then this may not be a problem. Apart from that Pier View is a lovely holiday apartment. I did score lower on maintenance as the grass was very long and covered in daises and had not been cut for a while and my husband did have to pick up others peoples dog mess too that had been left.

Pier View was the most amazing place, very comfy with everything you need for home from home!

Perfect position for shops, pub, walks, beech and trips out exploring. The owners were brilliant when we had small issue with the decking, came out to sort very quickly. Garden very secure for your 4 legged friends! Perfect accommodation! Definitely recommend and will be booking again!

The proerty was spotless, everything we needed and more , very comfy bed and good linen, perfect size garden for our little dog, short walk to beach kess then 10mins, We would love to come and stay again.

A very clean and comfortable apartment.

The dishwasher and washing machine are an added bonus also the milk, scones and jam are a nice touch. We did however notice that the bathroom, although working, is in need of some renovation.

The property was lovely it had everything we needed and very good quality.

Had a beautiful stay at pier view its a beautiful home friendly neighbours, when we arrived we were welcomed by afternoon tea laid out beautiful flowers in the lounge my son loved all the beach ornaments that he brought his own 10/10 will definitely come back x x

Very comfortable property,home from home.

Ideally situated for whatever you want to do and has a lawned back garden which is very good for your Dog .Lovely dog walks and you are centrally situated to visit beaches or local historic places,the choice is yours.Boat trips from Torquay,Paignton or Brixham harbours. Enjoy the tranquility of the house location despite it being a short throw from busy arterial road linking Torquay through to Dartmouth.Good local shops spar,Local fish and chips with various take aways

Everything you need for a good stay. While we were there we had some heavy rain and had a leak in the kitchen so had to put buckets to catch the drips. The owners are aware and have someone coming to fix it. Great location and bus stop at the end of the Rd if you don't fancy driving.

Lovely apartment, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable (reclining chair and sofa, comfy bed).

Enclosed garden and off road parking space are rare with seaside holiday lets so these were much appreciated. We didn't use the car all week as were able to walk to so many places including the station for the steam train and Torquay to catch ferry to Brixham. Cockington is a beautiful place and great for dogs off lead - the cafe at the craft centre is also dog friendly (as are many pubs and cafes in this area). Thank you for a lovely week.

Very comfortable accommodation, all mod cons.

Kitchen very well equipped. Bed very comfortable. The accommodation is like a Tardis! Wow when you open the door. Garden very secure for our Scottie Dog. Owners replied immediately to a question we had.

Nice downstairs flat, we didn't realise there were people above us but it wasn't an issue.

Well located for an easy walk to Paignton town centre or to Torquay if you fancy it. Property has absolutely everything you need, good kitchen, conservatory (we had an unexpected visitor in there one night, a small frog which caused a bit of chaos until it was caught and sent on its way, lol), nice garden and decking area. Surprisingly comfortable bed and pillows (I'm a mattress snob). A very enjoyable week.

Property is in a great location, within walking distance of Paignton & Torquay.

Facilities are all provided and everything that was needed was supplied for you. The only negative comment was the cleanliness of the property, as this is what let it down, as the entire place could do with a deep clean, as it was generally quite dirty upon arrival and this would probably prevent me from staying again. It's a shame, as other than this, it's an excellent property, in a great location.

Clean, comfortable, a very impressive property.

Superb location, with easy access to the surrounding area. We all enjoyed a really relaxing holiday. Hopefully, we will return to Pier View next year.

Pier View was clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a great location.

Grocery stores and take-aways within a short walk. Lovely walks for dogs nearby in Cockington and Occombe, and dog-friendly beaches at Fairy Cove and Goodrington especially. Only slightly marked down the listing accuracy as we found the windbreak but no deck chairs.

The inside of the property was quite clean, just a few clusters of dust found.

Like some other places we have rented the outside of the property is less clean with plastic doors, window sills and garden furniture in need of 'a wipe'. The bathroom/wet room was good but lacked enough clothes hooks to hang clothes as well as towels on. Just two round door handles on one wall available. Perhaps two or more could be placed on the wall above the bidet to make the room more user friendly. The bed and lounge seating was comfortable and having two televisions, one in the lounge and one in the bedroom, was appreciated. The kitchen was a joy to prepare food and drinks in. So more plus's than minuses to be attributed to the property.

We thought the property was lovely, the owners had thought of everything you would need all very clean and spacious.

Pier view was very clean & comfortable the owners made us welcome with a Devon cream tea when we arrived.

We had everything we needed and shops, pubs and the buses were close by. Having a shower room and separate toilet was convenient. The only problem was the gravel on the driveway which made it hard to wheel suitcases on.

Definitely recommend this accommodation Great size and all on one level.

Great to have a car parking space. We left the car walked mostly and used the bus as the stop is just at the bottom of the road.Nice surprise welcome pack.

Garry and Sharon made us very welcome nothing was to much trouble, warm and cosy everything was in the apartment they had put a lot of time into the property even dog bowls there and dog shampoo lovely place and will definetely be going back and would recommend to family and friends and lovely neighbours next door one of the best accomodations we have been in and we have been in a lot.

Walking distance to many amenities beach, restaurants, pubs, grocery shops and the bus stop. The accommodation was well equipped for our stay. A lovely welcoming cream tea awaited us also. A lovely touch. We would not hesitate to rebook in the future.

Stopped at Pier View many times now, it’s comfortable, clean, home from home, off road parking a big plus.

Pier view is in a great location for visiting whole of Torbay which is in easy reach. Very big bonus for us is the garden for us as well as our dog Tyson, Sitting out with a coffee in the morning and after a long day out just sit an chill with a glass of wine. All in all a fabulous place to stay, can’t recommend enough, hopefully we will be back soon.

A very well appointed ground floor apartment with a neat enclosed garden.

Easily accommodates four and perfect for the dog (GSD). Even the uncarpeted areas are non slip, so no imitations of Bambi on ice for him. We would certainly recommend this property and intend to re-visit ourselves in the future.

Lovely accommodation which was very clean to with everything we could want.

Comfortable beds, a wet room (with wc), a second toilet, very well equipped kitchen, lovely little garden & in a quiet location, ideally situated to explore Torbay/Devon. The owners even left us a Devon Cream Tea! Would definitely recommend. It’s ten out of ten from us!

The apartment was superb and would recommend to anyone thinking of booking a holiday in Paignton.

In an ideal position ,a 10 minute walk to the beach,close to shops and a bus stop at the end of the street. Everything you require is in the apartment .and was exceptionally clean when we arrived.Lovely break and look forward to returning.

Disappointed main Tv didn't have access to HDMI port, lots of people have Netflix accounts they want to bring down their firesticks and such to watch them on, apart from that we couldn't fault it

Really enjoyed our stay here would recommend.

House was lovely and clean and everything was thougth of by the owners. We had information on take out, restrants and places to visit. Although we did not spend much time in Preston (we prefer Torquay.) It was all walking distance although we popped on the bus. The bus is at the end of the road and only a 5 minute bus ride. However with a 5 year old and 3 year old a bus was easier. The House is a perfect location for walking or bus lots to do for family's. Really enjoyed our stay.

Holiday accommodation was fantastic but not happy with Sykes because if we cancelled we would still had to pay £300 Very poor customer service tried numerous times to contact but to no avail.

Everything you want and need is here, as well as a lovely garden,apartment is always clean upon arrival. Central position for visiting surrounding areas. Lots of little touches from Sharon and Gary, cream teas awaiting on arrival, fresh flowers and torches in both bedrooms are just a few to name. We have another visit booked for later in the year, can't wait. Would definitely recommend.

Much bigger than expected, a bit overlooked not helped by the noisy neighbors opposite, good base to explore from.

The apartment is in a great location to be able to walk to the beach and enjoy the activities there.

There is everything you need at the property includind parking. The enclosed garden is loved by the dog.

The flat was spotless on arrival, so had been really well cleaned, and with a nice cream tea waiting for us.

We did worry after booking it, that with four adults and a dog, it would feel too cramped and small. However we should not have been worried as it was much larger on the inside than we had imagined and we had plenty of room to spread out without getting on top of each other. The flat was very well equipped, with everything you needed and very well maintained and had a lovely modern and holiday feel to it. Whilst the actual area the flat is located in (Preston), is not that desirable, the location is in fact very central to all the sites in and around Torbay and easy access to the sea front and only a 20 minute walk in to the centre of Paignton. The added benefit of the garden was great and the ability to sit outside (when it stopped raining) was also lovely, plus it being secure for the dog!

Spotlessly clean and nice and warm on arrival. The ' icing on the cake ' was the cream tea that was waiting for us - ham sarnies and scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream. Yum. The apartment is not far from shops and restaurants, and just a 10 minute walk to the beach. So if you wanted to you could leave the car parked up for your stay. Even the weather was good for January with only a little rain. Well done Sharon and Gary.

We had a week at the pier view and we weren’t disappointed at all.

We struggled to find a house that took our dog which was an amazing plus for us. It’s situated right by the beach down the road so perfect for dog walks on the beach. Down the road to loads of shops and a petrol station which is great. The house was lovely. Very comfortable and fully equipped. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

We were greeted by scones with jam and cream, sandwiches in the fridge, tea coffee milk and biscuits also sat waiting for us. The property was exceptionally clean and well stocked with all the necessities you could wish for. There has obviously been a lot of thought put into making this an exceptional property.The garden is fully enclosed ideal for our dog Alfie who spent a good deal of time exploring it with us having peace of mind knowing that he was safe.Car parking space off road even though the road was very quiet. There were three adults in our party plus the dog and the property was an ideal size we never had a feeling of being cramped at all.

Pier View was an excellent base for a holiday.

I arrived to a lovely clean property, quickly warmed up with good heating, and soon settled in to a home from home. Bed was clean and well sprung, tv worked, WiFi worked, all crockery and cutlery clean. Very reassuring. Great to have your car safe on the drive. Nice garden to sit in and look out on from conservatory when eating. Definitely recommend this property probably for a couple or young family. Although Preston isn't much to look at it was quiet off season. Paignton resort is easily walkable along the sea front, several nearby coastal resorts are reachable by car or bus. The beach is a few minutes walk from the apartment.

Well equipped ground floor flat with small enclosed garden ideal for a dog.

Visited in February and the flat was lovely and warm. Off road parking and welcome tea, could not fault anything and would reccomend. Dog friendly beach out of season which was like a social event each day for doggies and humans. Used bus service to Totnes and Brixham (accepts dogs on board) with bus stop at the end of the road. Perfect.

Everything you needed in a maisonette close to amenities and enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

The apartment had everything (and I really do mean everything you could need and more).

The garden would have been fabulous to sit in (if the weather had been better!). All in all a lovely place to stay with owners who really do go that extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We arrived a little bit early and Sharon and Gary were still sorting a few things out.

There were sandwichs in the fridge and scones with cream and jam most wlcoming. The flat was like home from home everything that you would need was there. Bed was comfortable and road was very quiet as its a cul-de-sac. there was a nice lawned area idea for the dog. There was a rear entrance that was good to bring the dog around the back if she was grubby. We will love to return there again. Peter & Gill Wring Bristol.

Once again we were so pleased that we booked our holiday with Sykes Cottages.

We enjoyed our stay at Pier View, the owners Sharon and Gary made us feel most welcome. The only disappointment was that we did not realise when booking this property, it was a ground floor accommodation and not an actual cottage. Other than that we found the property to be very spacious, well equipped, and clean. It was ideally situated with so many locations we could visit travelling either by walking or public transport. Sharon and Gary had left us so much information with regards to dog friendly beaches etc. which we found most useful. Would we consider booking this property again in the future? Most definitely.

A lovely place to stay exactly as the description in a very quiet residential street in the Preston area of Paignton.

It was a bonus to have a lovely garden with the BBQ available and the owners had gone to a lot of trouble in providing us with a lovely cream tea on arrival with some sandwiches. The kitchen was well equipped the flat was within walking distance of a small shop and two fish and chip shops and only a bit further was the beach. There was a good pub which was a slightly longer walk but we didn't mind as the weather in Paignton during our stay was brilliant. Definitely give the holiday 10 out of 10. Thank you to Sykes for the easy booking and all the information given and thank you to the owners for everything you did for us it was very much appreciated. We would book with Sykes again and I would recommend them.

The flat was all we could have wanted in an extremely convenient location due to us wanting to use public transport for most of our outings.

Not far to walk to get to the coast path, and a handy park to exercise the dog, also safe garden to let the dog out into. Very good chippy, London Fryer, and convenience shop very handy. Flat was very well equipped and we appreciated the bite to eat, milk, tea & coffee we found waiting for us. Very good appliances. Would have liked a blind at kitchen window, as although privacy did not seem to be an issue, shade would have been welcome in the mornings! A great success.

Afternoon tea on arrival, was a lovely touch. Amazing weather. Everything we needed was provided at the flat.

Although described as a cottage in all the literature we received, I would rather call it an apartment or flat.

The property is a large semi detached house for which we had the whole of the bottom floor. Having searched on google maps I wasn't surprised about this but some people may be, however this in no way spoilt our holiday. We were greeted with scones, jam, clotted cream and sandwiches which was a lovely thought and very welcome after our long drive from Nottingham. Upon exploring the accommodation we were pleased to see it was very clean, comfortable and best of all it was lovely and warm as we were holidaying in a very cold week in February. The large double bed was very comfortable in the master bedroom which is at the front of the property on the street side, there is a television in this room and ample storage including two chest of drawers and a wardrobe, there is another bedroom which we didn't use with two single beds and a wardrobe. The lounge was comfortable with a leather settee with reclining foot rests and armchair, there is a large wall mounted flat screen television, lots of DVD's and some games in a set of drawers. We were very pleased with the free wifi throughout the property. The dining room is a lovely large conservatory which is heated and overlooks the garden, perfect for comfortable dining. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable. A washer, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge freezer, double electric oven and four ringed gas hob plus all the pots, pans, plates, cups, saucers, mugs, cooking utensils you would ever need should you be cooking meals. There is a small toilet room with toilet and washbasin, and a larger bathroom and with walk in shower, toilet, bidet and washbasin. The property is ideal for disabled use, it is all on ground level with wide doors, a low level gas hob in the kitchen and a large walk in shower. If you were wheelchair bound you may need to ask the upstairs neighbours to move their car as there wouldn't be room to get a wheelchair past it, the drive and path to the front door may also prove difficult to negotiate as it was pebble stones. There is off street parking for one car outside but another car may be able to find on street parking outside or near the property. The approach road can get a little congested with a garage premises and their related vehicles parking both sides at the bottom of the road but further up the road where the property is it is very quiet as it's a cul-de-sac. There are people living upstairs accessed via a completely separate door, we weren't sure whether it was the owners of the property but if it was we didn't see them and they didn't come and say hello but there was a telephone number to ring if you needed them, there was very little noise from upstairs or next door so the rooms must be well sound proofed. The property is within easy walking distance of Preston beach and if you are fit you can walk to Paignton one way and Torquay the other way but that is a little further. The main road is on a bus route to both resorts. There is a wetherspoons pub a 15 minute walk away but the main pubs, restaurants and entertainment is either Paignton or Torquay. We had a lovely week and would recommend the property for a restful, comfortable, reasonable priced holiday.

Very well equipped and managed flat.

Clean and spacious. Owners very friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful stay. Liked that there was a keysafe for key collection as we arrived very late. Travelled with an infant - note there is no bath here but we took a baby bath and that was fine as the bathroom is spacious. Bedroom 2 (2x singles) is small so we had to move one of the single beds out to be able to put our cot in there. Master bedroom is huge + plenty of space for cot. We couldn't find any pubs or restaurants within walking distance but found some nice restaurants at the harbour.
