Had a wonderful stay at the Spicery the owner was very friendly.

The property was everything we needed in a quiet secluded spot with easy access to the surrounding area . The property itself was very well maintained with everything you need for your stay. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

Fabulous property!

Everything was as listed. Clean and comfortable to a high standard in a beautiful and peaceful location. Pubs and a local shop in village. Enclosed garden for our small dog. Owner was very quick to help when we left something at the property after our departure. We would definitely return to stay again if in the area.

We returned to this property having had a fantastic stay there last year and enjoyed the cottage just as much this time.

The accommodation is incredibly spacious and well presented, in a quiet and scenic, rural location. The owners really care about you having a good holiday, shown in several ways including that they gave us fans in anticipation of the June heatwave without us asking. The cottage is an excellent base for exploring both north and south Devon.

We would have given it full rating on all if the hot water / heating hadn’t gone off a few time , but saying that Rob got an engineer in after he had sorted twice .

We. Were greeted on ar arrival and inside there were scones a,jam and cream waiting for us in the kitchen , Everything you could possibly need is supplied and extra touches are also supplied . Only problem for me was the mattress too hard but that’s a personal matter , other one was softer , in all it is a lovely house

We had a great week then property was exceptional and in a beautiful part of the country.

Loved this accommodation, we had a relaxing week in this superclean and comfy cottage with welcoming hosts.

The owner sent us precise instructions on how to find the cottage which was very thoughtful. Upon arrival we found some extra touches of scones, jam and clotted cream along with a goodie box for the dog which were most enjoyable. The hot tub was well used and Sarah checked during the week that it was all as it should be. Highly recommend and we will definitely return. Kings Arms Inn, in the village had lovely food.

The Spicery exceeded our expectations the place was super clean and smelled lovely.

The kitchen was fully equipped and we had a lovely time preparing meals in it. Before we arrived I had a lovely message from the owner with extra instructions on how to locate the property as it was off the beaten track. The extra touches of homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, dressing gowns for the hot tub and a lovely goodie box for the dog made us feel so welcome. We very rarely revisit a property but this one is definitely on the list for a re-visit. We would highly recommend it particularly if you are looking for a nice relaxing retreat away from all the hustle and bustle, but if you do need to go out and about there are some great places to visit that are no more than 20 mins away in the car.

Just got back from a wonderful weeks stay at Spicery.

The property is bright, airy, spotless, comfortable and finished/maintained to a high standard. It really is a home away from home with added touches such as a clothes airer, throws, robes for the hot tub (which is amazing) laundry tablets, dishwaher tablets, washing up liquid and hand wash adding to the feel. There was milk, tea, coffee, sugar, homemade scones, jam and cream on our arrival. Everything worked, the water pressure was spot on and the water as hot as you wanted it. The furniture was comfortable and there is ample storage in both bedrooms, the kitchen and utility room. Sarah and Rob are lovely hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them and our dog especially enjoyed the extra fusses. Thank you so much, we hope to see you again soon!

Wow!

! The Spicery is a great place to stay and good locationfor exploring the local area ir even furtherafield. It is large and very clean and the owners (Sarah & Rob) have thought of everything you need for a great stay. To the rear of the property they have some land that is great for walking which was peaceful and our dog loved. The home made scones on arrival were a great touch after a long journey. We highly recommend The Spicery and we hope to return soon.

I found the Spicery to be top rate accommodation and a great place to stay, there was good friendly communication with the owners, I would recommend staying there.

Spicery exceeded expectations and was one of the very best places we have ever stayed in for a holiday.

The cottage was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. Very well thought out and included a Hot Tub which we made use of. Views from the upstairs bedroom were amazing and all the patio areas outside were completely private, The cottage is conveniently located near a number of A roads. Owners were friendly and there on hand but not intrusive. Thank you for a wonderful week's holiday.

Had a lovely week at the Spicery, there was a few things that wasn’t for us.

We did not know that the owners lived next door and that there was an adjoining door to their house, even though it was locked their side. There was quite a big step down from the patio where the hot tub was to the garden, we only have little dogs and we had to keep picking them up and down. Lastly the road to the property was a gravel track so if you were looking at getting a takeaway, they don’t deliver. But the property itself was beautiful, cleaned to Such a high standard and they have everything you need, although an ice tray for the freezer would have been nice.

This has got to be the best place we have stayed.

It was so lovely, everything was there that we needed and more. The house was in a beautiful setting and there were lots of places to visit nearby.The hosts were so welcoming too. We are definately coming back.

Spotlessly clean and fresh when we arrived.

Really well maintained and presented. Lovely warm welcome on arrival. This property is a real gem, we wanted for nothing, even good fans in the bedrooms for the warm weather. Lovely quiet and peaceful setting. The small garden was great for our dog, a fab hot tub was a treat, plus a lovely patio area for dining. A great area at the rear of the property to walk our dog. The hosts were really friendly and helpful as they are close by. Lots of places to visit, The Donkey Sanctuary was great and very dog friendly and Sidmouth close by. We highly recommend this property.

This was a wonderful place to stay.

We could not think of a nicer place to have our 2 week holiday. The owners made us very welcome and were at hand if needed, but they weren't. The location was stunning. There were so many places to visit that were only a short distance away. We highly recommend this place and would holiday there again.

One of the best properties we have ever rented

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday at The Spicery.

Our week was so relaxing and peaceful, a previous reviewer mentioned the birdsong throughout the day which was especially enjoyable while relaxing in the spotless hot tub! Many thanks to the lovely owners and family, their holiday home is so clean and inviting, with very comfortable furniture and beds, plus the kichen equipment has everything you could possibly wish for. Needless to say, we have booked again for next year!

The peace was loud. Spotlessly clean, tidy, spacious and comfortable. You are provided with everything you need for a great stay. Spicery is a lovely cottage with all the comforts of home it’s a very quiet and relaxing place to be when all you can hear are the birds singing.

It was in immaculate condition and was exactly as described Sarah and Rob should be very proud

Lovely touches on arrival - Christmas tree, mince pies, scones, jam & cream and treats for the dog. The cottage was spotless, modern and decorated to a high spec and owners were welcoming, friendly and were there if needed. The surrounding scenery was beautiful and off the beaten track. We all had a thoroughly enjoyable week away and would highly recommend the Spicery
