Gardeners Cottage

Gardeners Cottage is just lovely.

We had 2 people staying which was perfect as the downstairs space isn’t huge but it is very comfortable. The cottages are in beautiful grounds and very well positioned in East Devon, easily accessible from A30 and great for days out. We love it here, thank you Diana & Paul

We have stayed in a variety of these luxury cottages over the last 13 weeks.

They are truly wonderful buildings set in the most idilic surroundings. They are spotlessly clean and have all the modern facilities and everyday equipment that you could wish for. The hosts are amazing and extremely kind and helpful. I needed the Internet for work and this was reliable with a strong speed throughout our stay. The grounds were perfect for our dogs to explore and my children enjoyed running around on the vast green spaces. I would 100% recommend these cottages to family and friends. Thanks for having us, the Bruce family.

Excellent property in lovely surroundings, thank you.

Very understanding and helpful hosts.

Lovely stay at Gardener‘s Cottage and very Kind hosts!

Thank you!!

Perfect retreat, decorated to Perfection, all essentials supplied with a lovely welcome gift and card.

Would definitely return highly recommended cottage.

We absolutely loved this property.

It’s very classy and everything seems new. We appreciated the bottle of bubby and coffee pods that were left for us. Lovely bedrooms and bedding, great shower, plenty of storage, a very comfortable lounge and a fantastic kitchen that was well stocked. The outside space is second to none and I loved the fact we had our own secluded garden space. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed our evenings eating Al fresco enjoying the sunshine. Talaton is a lovely little village, has a beautiful old church and lots of thatched cottages. The only thing we struggled with were the single track roads in/out of Talaton, unavoidable when travelling to places of interest.

Lovely cottage with everything you would want Excellent facilities and in a beautiful location

The cottage is very well equipped,it is immaculate and has everything you need.

Fantastic cottage, very well appointed and decorated to a modern and clean line standard.

Beautiful settings with plenty of space for the dog to run. Enjoyed the local ale and pubs with enough local attractions for us to visit.. The hosts made you feel very welcome with a nice little arrival touch of gifts for us and the dog. Would definitely stay there again. 5 STAR !

Lovely stay in this beautiful cottage.

Clean well equipped and such beautiful grounds. Thank you to the lovely hosts.

We loved this property it was comfortable & clean, had everything you could need plus lovely surrounding grounds & gardens.

Only drawback for us was having dogs they had access to the complete area & as they would be wanderers we couldn't let them out alone, but it didn't detract from an enjoyable holiday.

We stayed in Gardener's Cottage as part of a group of 9 in 3 of the cottages, this one sleeps 4 and was very comfortable and well equipped.

All the properties are fabulous, well positioned for trips out (narrow Devon lanes!) and relaxing if you want to stay put. Diana is a fabulous host who is very welcoming with goodies for humans and dogs. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

A lovely place to stay - every comfort was provided and every need anticipated.

The welcome was warm and then we had plenty of freedom to enjoy the place and its setting. The buildings are beautiful and the recommended places to visit showed us a new side of an area we know quite well.

Fantastic property.

Owners were great very friendly and accessible. Really nice grounds to walk the dogs in.

Gardeners cottage is a delightful ‘home from home’ and well equipped.

We visited with my parents who stayed in Grooms Cottage next door. The location is excellent for a relaxing break. We all had a wonderful week and thanks go to Diana who went out of her way to make our holiday special.

Excellent property very well maintained in a lovely village surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Very friendly hosts who also provided lots of extras making us very welcome.

Excellent stay in this lovely cottage.

The cottage was very well appointed and felt like a real home from home. Thanks to the owners, Paul and Diana who had thought of everything. We would love to stay again.

This is a fabulous cottage that has absolutely everything you could need and more!

Diana really has thought of everything and the little touches make it even more special when you arrive. The location is great for exploring Devon and we can't wait to go back again in the summer!

An absolutely lovely cottage with everything you could possibly wish for, comfortable, clean, well equipped and dog friendly.

The cottage is in a row of cottages near to the main house with full access to all the grounds so plenty of places to walk the dogs. The owners are really nice and considerate, providing a little welcome pack for us and the dogs. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be going back.

The property and position was as advertised.

The property is decorated and furnished to a very high standard, and is set in a very peaceful setting. Everything you need is thee. The village has an active pub (open part of the week) and shop, and it’s a good base away from busy centres, for walks or getting into Exeter and the surrounding coast and countryside. The hosts were attentive and are close by so any questions were answered very quickly.

Lovely stay.

A very well thought out accommodation that catered to all our needs. We felt very welcome and at home throughout, would definitely book again!

A lovely, clean, comfortable and well-equipped cottage in beautiful grounds.

My dog and I spent a very happy week here. Conveniently located in a pretty village for local strolls or for some nice coastal and country-side walks further afield. Wonderful holiday and superb cottage - perfect!!

We have loved our stay at the Gardeners Cottage.

The cottage and grounds are first class, spotlessly clean, comfortable and you are well catered for, the owners have thought of everything. It is an ideal base to explore East Devon, there are some lovely local walks and a pub nearby. We would highly recommend Gardeners Cottage you will not be disappointed and the owners are extremely kind and helpful. We would definitely go back to the Gardeners Cottage.

A warm welcome to an excellent cottage.

Fabulous stay.

Very many thanks Beautifully appointed cottage Lovely surroundings Very welcoming host

We absolutely loved our stay!

Cannot fault this accommodation, it was perfect!

We would definitely book this accommodation again.

The property was clean and just right for us with all the equipment and storage space we needed. Local walks in the woodland and fields on the estate, and around the village were perfect for our elderly dogs. There were plenty of options for day trips within a half hour drive, including coast walks, beach, market towns and villages and the city of Exeter.

The cottage is beautifully designed and decorated with everything you could possibly need.

We and the dog had a very happy week wandering around the Talaton park and countryside. The perfect place to regain sanity…as long as you keep away from the narrow Devon lanes!

Beautiful cottage and fantastic setting.

We loved our stay and Diana was such a friendly and welcoming host, she even went above ad beyond with easter gifts on our arrival which was a really nice touch and not expected. I will be recommending this cottage to friends and family members. Thank you once again for also supporting my Mum and Dad who stayed on with you. #5 star *****

The property is in a lovely setting and the accommodation is excellent.

we look forward to staying again at some point in the future.

The owner is very welcoming and helpful.

The location is superb. The cottage is very comfortable. When we next visit this area this would be our first choice to stay.

We had an amazing stay at Gardener's Cottage.

We couldn't fault it - the cottage is just perfect and so well equipped with everything you could possibly think of for efficient self-catering. The grounds of Talaton House are beautifully maintained. The fields and large grass areas are ideal for exercising dogs, walking, and for children to run and play in a safe environment. Diana is an exceptional host. Wonderfully pleasant and accommodating yet discreet and unimposing. She is always available and happy to help with anything and everything, or not to be seen at all! We loved the serene location and proximity to walks, beaches, excellent pubs, farm shops, and supermarkets. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent property, very well equipped.

Dog friendly, large area to exercise our dogs also treats for the dogs on our arrival.

The Gardener's Cottage was perfect for our family holiday to Devon.

The cottage itself was spotless, well equiped, and very comfortable. The grounds are spacious and provided endless opportunities for exploration and entertainment for our two young children. The owner was responded to questions quickly and was welcoming throughout the stay. We could have easily stayed another week without worry.

Really lovely accommodation in beautiful grounds.

Forgotten how narrow the Devon roads are!!

Lovely cottage in a peaceful setting.

Spotlessly clean and the bottle of fizz and treats for our dog made the long journey worth it! Owners Diana and Paul couldn’t have made us more welcome and we will definitely be back.

The cottage exceeded our expectations.

... beautiful contemporary renovation .... in a gorgeous location ... champagne to welcome us ...was a first but one we appreciated ... five star accommodation

Lovely place to stay, a real home from home, all the home comforts you could wish for in beautiful surroundings.

Highly recommended.

Fabulous week in wonderful setting cottage was everything we wanted and more.

Ideally situated to explore the coast and countryside

Absolutely amazing property.

Owners were lovely. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a luxury holiday. The finishing touches were of an extremely high standard and there wasn’t anything extra to be needed. All cooking implements were there and a bbq available with their implements as well. Just so pleased with the whole booking and experience. We will be visiting again!

We had a brilliant holiday and the accommodation was immaculately clean, spacious, well-equipped, and in beautiful surroundings.

What more could you ask for!

Gardeners cottage was a beautiful holiday home set in an idyllic location.

Near enough to get to many of the attractions we wanted to visit yet felt wonderfully remote from all the hustle and bustle we wanted to escape from for a few days. The cottage itself was furnished in a high end contemporary designand was immaculately clean. The fact that the cottages are dog friendly was what interested me to start with and it offered plenty of space for our energetic dog both inside and outside. I would highly recommend the cottages.

The cottage was perfect for our holiday.

The grounds were beautiful

The cottage was one of the best we have ever stayed in!

Great attention to detail - everything you could want in a holiday cottage. The owners were so helpful, giving us great local advice on where to go and where to eat locally. We can't fault our stay at Gardener's Cottage.

Fantastic property in a stunning location , hosts were lovely and welcoming.

Ideal location for exploring some of Devon`s stunning locations- will certainly be back for a repeat visit.

The accommodation was perfect for our family.

Talaton is a fantastic base to get to many places in Devon. Diana, Paul and Rosey were excellent hosts and couldn't have been more welcoming!

Anyone wanting a peaceful stay in the countryside book this beautiful place.

The care and attention the owners have gone to are second to none! The property is beautifully designed and we had everything we needed. My dog was also remembered with a bag of treats and a bowl. Thank you Diana for a fabulous welcome (bottle of Prosecco) and pub/restaurant recommendations. I hope to revisit in the future.

Gardener's Cottage is beautifully appointed, very well equipped and spotlessly clean.

Diana the owner was incredibly helpful and did everything she could to ensure that we felt welcome and had a pleasant stay. I cannot recommend Gardener's cottage highly enough, it is set in the most beautiful grounds of Talaton house with lovely walks just on the doorstep, a very friendly village shop and the lovely beaches such as Branscombe only a short drive away. We look forward to returning again in the future. Thank you Diana for making our first visit to East Devon so special.
