    “The retreat was a lovely cottage first impressions were lovely and spacious well equipped.”

    The host Nick was very responsive should you need him for anything. It was one of the cheapest holidays we have ever booked it was definitely a great price for such a lovely looking place. What let this place down…. It was not clean I had spent most of my first day after arriving cleaning so many spiders! They were everywhere, plus dead insects, nests and food packets down the sides of the bunk beds from previous visitors so not sure how you miss this really if you have made the beds up ...

Food stains on side units that had not been wiped as soon as you walked in the door. It was a massive shame because the cottage itself is absolutely stunning lovely and private with big garden. Freddie the cat came to visit a few times which my 3 young boys loved making a fuss of.

Sidmouth is an elegant seaside resort on the south Devon stretch of Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site of great natural beauty. Here is where the River Sid cuts through the Devon hills to meet the sea at Lyme Bay, creating a clean pebbly beach, giving way to golden sands at low tide backed by dramatic red cliffs creating a safe family beach with rockpools and safe bathing. Sidmouth is lined with stylish Regency cream-and-white architecture, creating an elegant Esplanade which makes for a relaxing stroll whilst looking out towards Beer Head. Sidmouth boasts one of the few public access observatories, the Norman Lockyer Observatory, complete with planetarium. There are a variety of attractions around Sidmouth including Pecorama with award-winning miniature railway and gardens, the Seaton tramway and the Otter Estuary Nature Reserve. Families will love the beaches, walkers will enjoy the South West coastal path and at the end of the day there are plenty of tea rooms, cafes and welcoming country inns to relax and refresh you.
